Disneyland California Adventure Park with the family

On the first day of cheer nationals, our daughter was busy warming-up, and practicing for their first event. They had a call time in the late evening, so during the day, we had free time. Why not walk across the street to Disneyland?!

When we got to the Disney gates at 7:30am, the lines to get into the original Disneyland Park were so long, they backed up into the gates of California Adventure Park, and snaked back around. We had never seen the lines so long! The new Star Wars section is definitely bringing in a lot of crowds! We decided to wait, and go to California Adventure Park instead. Star Wars will be there awhile, so we can always come back on another trip. We knew we only had one day to go to Disneyland, so we wanted to make sure we could go on a lot of rides.

California Adventure Park was light that day. The lines were short, and we were able to go on a ton of rides. We went on a few rides we had never done before. The Ferris Wheel, roller coaster, and Inside-Out ride were first-timers for us, and we loved them. They were so much fun! We have been missing out by not going on them! We also went on all of our tried and true favorites, which include Mater, the Cars ride, Toy Story, and the classic Merry-Go-Round.

For lunch, we ate at Pasta N’ Pizza. This was our first time eating there, and it was so good! I enjoyed the chicken pasta, and a tiramisu dessert. Yummy! My son enjoyed his pizza too. We will definitely go back to eat there next time!

Since there is a lot of walking involved at Disneyland, I wore my comfy Gucci sneakers so I could be comfortable, and fabulous, at the same time. 😉 haha They were the perfect shoes! My daughter rocked her classic adidas Superstar’s; after all, they are the IT shoe in our town for middle school, and high school girls. She’s always so fabulous 🙂

Feeling spring vibes in a spring trench coat

Ooooh, it’s starting to look a lot like spring over here! The groundhog was right! The Magnolia’s are blooming, white and pink tree blossoms are flourishing, and the flowers in my front yard are starting to peek out of their green buds. The sun is shining, and offering us daytime temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s. Of course, since it is still winter, the mornings are hovering in the 40’s, and at night it is quite cold. We are getting there!

It feels so close to spring! The spring vibes during the day are causing me to pull out my new spring pieces before I have figured out my spring wardrobe! This spring trench coat is perfect for cutting off the morning chill. It’s lightweight, yet heavy enough to keep me warm with just a tee underneath during our winter mornings. Then, I can take it off during the warmer hours, and put it back on when the sun starts to set, and temperatures drop dramatically. Plus, spring trench coats are a hot trend this year, so you know I will want to rock that!

As we move into spring, denim washes are getting lighter. Hemlines on jeans are starting to hit at the ankles, or be cropped. Look for styles which will show off your fabulous new spring shoes! I have not looked into spring footwear just yet, but slides are definitely hot this year. Thankfully I have my go-to Gucci slides which I love wearing every spring and fall season. They are easy to put on, and offer enough coverage to keep my toes warm. They are great for transitioning from winter into spring. Love them! This pair will definitely be in spring capsule wardrobe! Stay tuned for that. . .

OK, so I didn’t’ get a lot of twirling photos, but in the first one, you can sort-of see me twirling into spring right?? Seriously, this skirt is fun to twirl in, and it has been so versatile this winter season. It is also a piece which can go from winter into spring. For spring, all I need to do is lighten up my top, and slip into sandals or slides; and voila! It will be perfect in the spring season, love that!

The weather this month has been swinging in all directions. We have one day with 30-50 degree temps, then the next will day will be 50-70 degrees! It’s so crazy! I wore this outfit on a day when temperatures reached the high 60’s, and it felt so nice outside! I paired my favorite winter skirt with a 3/4 sleeve tee I had in my closet from last year. To fend off the morning chill, I wore this blue scarf; which I removed later on in the day when it warmed up. It is a great winter into spring outfit. Love!

To get into the spring spirit, my daughter snapped these photos in front of a living wall at Valley Fair mall. It was just starting to get a few flowers. I cannot wait to see how pretty it gets in the spring season!

The groundhog predicted an early spring a few days ago, and I know he is right! We are already getting tree blossoms, and a few bushes in my yard are starting to bloom. I have had enough of cold weather, and I am definitely ready for the warmer, spring season!
