what to wear on an airplane in the winter air travel outfit idea

I wore this travel outfit on the airplane from San Francisco to New York for fashion week. I have a formula for my travel outfits. I always wear jeans on an airplane because they are a thick fabric, and also comfortable. There is nothing worse than fussy clothing on an airplane! Jeans are anything but fussy.

When it comes to my outerwear, I prefer to wear a dark colored coat when I travel in the winter. When you are traveling, you touch, and sit, in public places, so wearing dark colors is always a safe bet. It is also easier to wear a thick coat when traveling on a airplane, then trying to stuff it into precious suitcase space! I try to travel light.

For footwear, I like to wear my bulkiest pair of shoes on the airplane; as long as they are comfortable. This frees up suitcase space for more clothing, and smaller shoes.

Layers are key when traveling on an airplane during the winter months. Since San Francisco has a much more mild climate than New York, my outfit is essentially San Francisco weather-ready, and with the coat, it turns into a New York weather-ready outfit. I also keep my gloves, and beanie, in my handbag so I can easily reach for them when I get off the plane, and head outside for my ground transportation.

I try to wear little jewelry when traveling on an airplane. There is no reason to wear fussy, and noisy, bangles. There is also no reason to wear a large ring which may hit into things, or people. One pair of comfortable earrings, and a small ring, if any, is plenty of jewelry for an airplane outfit.

This is my formula for traveling from the west coast, to the east coast, during the winter! What is your formula for an airplane outfit during the winter months?

Studs on studs for spring

casual winter into spring outfit idea studs on studs for winter banana republic studded topchloe inez handbag in black leather san francisco bay area style blogger

There is something a little bit rock and roll about studs. When I spotted this top at Banana Republic with tiny little studs, I thought it would be fun to wear with my Chloe Inez bag; after all, who doesn’t love studs on studs for the spring season!

A few years ago, studs were all the rage. Then, they disappeared for a hot minute from the fashion scene. It appears no-one really wanted studs to go away! They have quietly been on the runways, and store shelves, ever since. Since I love me some rock and roll, it is only natural that I love studs!

This little pouchette from Chloe is a fun bag to wear casually, or for a night out on the town. I love it as an alternative to a clutch for dinner, or an evening show. With the strap adjusted as a single shoulder strap, the bag has a more casual feel. When I adjust the straps into a double shoulder strap, it has a dressier, evening feel. Love that!

I love how the handbag looks with this studded top. The studs on the bag are large, and vary in size. The studs on the top are small and evenly distributed. I feel like the two pieces compliment each other, and add a little dimension to a casual look. Of course, this top could be paired with leather legging or pants for a chic, evening look. Oh! New outfit idea!

The combination of studs on studs in this outfit makes me smile; and makes a few AC/DC songs roll through my head. What do you think of mixing studs this spring? Are you up for a little rock and roll in your wardrobe?

Bow tie midi skirt for spring 2016

It is that time of year when I long to wear my spring clothing, yet the weather is still crisp and cold; since it is technically still winter. Thankfully this bow tie midi skirt for spring is easy to wear now by simply mixing it with winter pieces. Love that!

I love all of the bow tie midi skirts for spring 2016. They offer a playful, feminine vibe for the warm season. The full skirt, and midi length, make bow tie midi skirts easy to wear both for dressy occasions, or casual affairs. I am looking forward to wearing this skirt with a tee-shirt and sandals on a hot day!

While pencil skirts this spring season are hitting just below the knee, midi skirts which, are full or a-line, have gone from at the knee, to mid calf. These are fresh hemlines for the spring season, making it a fun season to shop for!

I wore this outfit on my birthday. We took the kids to Santana Row and enjoyed lunch at Blowfish Sushi. If you are local to the area, and have not had a chance to eat at Blowfish Sushi yet, it is a must-try! The Tuna Tartare Pyramid and Ritzu roll are a-ma-zing! You cannot enjoy the full experience of Blowfish Sushi without a Ritzu Roll. Highly recommend!

Thank you for stopping by
