The weather in the spring can fluctuate from forty degrees, up to the high seventies. This means we all need a fabulous, lightweight jacket for the cooler parts of spring! I always keep a denim jacket on hand for spring, but one jacket can get boring fast. I decided to jump on the bomber jacket bandwagon, and invest in one for the spring season. (sometimes they are referred to as a stadium jacket)

So. . .raise your hand if you remember bomber jackets in the 1980s! My hand is up! Did I just date myself? haha, oh well. I was in grade school in the 1980s, and I had a shiny, green, bomber jacket. Everyone had one back then, they were the “IT” jacket to own; much cooler than those cotton twill things (members only jackets-yikes!) the nerd boys used to wear!

My Mother always told me to never re-wear a trend from your childhood, but weren’t fashion rules meant to be broken? Of course! So, I sprung for this cute little bomber jacket in pale pink. If I am going to jump on a trend, why not in the color of the year?!

This bomber jacket is quite cozy; it is perfect for wearing over lightweight tops. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we need to be able to peel off our layers. The fog will bring in fifty degree weather in the morning, then when it burns off, the temperatures can rise ten, or twenty degrees in one hour. So having a light top underneath a jacket is key. The bomber jacket trend for spring is perfect for our weather! Love that!

I also need to give a shout-out to these Mansur Gavriel mules also known as slides. Did you know Mansur Gavriel is making shoes now? Love them! These slides are super comfy; and perfect for the spring, and summer months. I bought them in classic black so that I can reach for them often. As you know, I am a Mansur Gavriel superfan; so these shoes not only gleam fabulous style, they are extremely well made! Of course price-wise, they are a great value. I don’t know how Mansur Gavriel makes such high quality handbags, and shoes, without the sky-high price tag to go with it! More reason to love Mansur Gavriel slides or mules, and their collection in general.

This outfit will be a go-to for the spring season. I mixed a 1970s inspired denim skirt, with a 1980s inspired bomber jacket, and mid-1990s inspired slides. Why not mix decades? It’s more fun to mix it up. Right?

What do you think of Mansur Gavriel’s new shoe collection? Are you planning to rock the bomber jacket trend? Leave a comment and let me know!

Shabby Apple maxi wrap dress

Pictured: Sunglasses: Chanel / Earrings: Kendra Scott / Lipstick: c/o Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa / Dress: c/o Shabby Apple (on sale under $100!!) / Necklace: Kendra Scott / Handbag: Chloe / Ring: Kendra Scott / Nail Polish: Chanel Chaine Or / Shoes: Prada (2009 runway. Also love SAVE or SPLURGE)

One of my favorite things to wear when the weather starts to warm up is a maxi skirt, or dress! Every spring season, I look for a fabulous maxi dress to add to my wardrobe. This fun, maxi wrap dress from Shabby Apple fit the bill for spring 2016!

With the 1970s trend in full swing for spring, this Shabby Apply maxi wrap dress fits into the trend perfectly. Wrap dresses are very ’70s, and this print has a vintage flair to it. I love how this geometric print fits in perfectly with the architectural/geometric trend we saw on the spring 2016 runways in New York. I feel so runway-ready in this dress!

Since the colors, and the pattern, stand on their own, I decided to go understated with my accessories. These Kendra Scott earrings, and matching necklace, from the spring 2016 collection have a geometric look, and blend in with the dress. They are great for wearing with this Shabby Apple maxi wrap dress, and for everyday wear!

This Shabby Apple maxi wrap dress was a little bit on the long side for my 5’4″ frame, so I instantly knew I would pair it with my favorite, old stand-by pair of Prada platform sandals. They are from the 2009 runway collection, and are a great investment pair of black shoes. I love how they work with the dress. For a cute pair of black platform sandals under $100, please click here.

I am looking forward to wearing my new Shabby Apple maxi wrap dress this spring; and also in the summer months! It is a great dress for daytime; and it can be dressed up, or down, depending upon which handbag, or shoes, are paired with it. I love versatility!

If you are ordering the Shabby Apply maxi wrap dress online, look at the sizing carefully. I normally wear a 6 or 8, so in this dress I got an 8. The 8 is a little bit big, I think a 6 would have been better. So if you are between sizes like me, go with the smaller size. If you are always a straight size, then go with your true size.

This is my first piece from Shabby Apple and I love it! I am looking forward to adding more Shabby Apple pieces to my wardrobe in the future. You can find this dress and more at ShabbyApple.com

Shore Projects Watch

I am not one of those people who collects watches. To me, a wristwatch is something which should be timeless; an heirloom quality piece I can hand down to my children. My Mother owns three watches she has been wearing for decades; and each one has a story behind it. This has influenced me over the years to view watches as special pieces which tell a story I can pass on to future generations.

When Shore Projects introduced me to their beautiful collections of watches, I was thrilled! I usually pass on new watch trends, and brands, because I want a classic watch with a story behind it to invest in for my collection. Shore Projects instantly caught my attention because the watches offer timeless appeal, with a vintage vibe; and a story. I am in love!

Shore Projects watches offer a combination of modern innovation, with precision manufacturing, which when combined, create a beautiful timepiece that will last for generations. Each Shore Projects watch is made with a stainless steel case covered with crystal sapphire glass. The leather straps offer high quality leather sourced from Italy. All of Shore Projects watches are waterproofed to 100m; which means you can swim in the sea! Love that!

In addition to my love for the quality construction, and timeless appeal of every Shore Project watch, I love the fact that they are a product with a cause! Shore Projects has partnered with the Marine Conservation Society which works hard to increase protection levels for aquatic wildlife habitats; as well as to improve the conditions of our seas and coastlines. For every Shore Projects watch sold, £1 is donated to MCS in order to support them in their work to protect beaches and wildlife. How fabulous a story is that!

I absolutely adore my Shore Projects watch. These watches are not only classic, high quality timepieces, they can be customized to fit our individual tastes. Love that! There are several faces to choose from, and after you choose a watch-face, you can choose one or more straps to wear with the watch! This gives you an endless array of watch styles to choose from, and to love!

Since blue is my favorite color, I chose a light blue watch-face named the “Lulworth.” This beautiful watch-face can be paired with a fun, colorful strap, or a classic metal strap. I love metal straps so I chose a stainless steel strap. This summer, I want to switch things up and wear a strap in a light color. I just need to choose a color. There are so many amazing choices!

I am looking forward to pairing my Shore Projects watch with more winter into spring outfits, such as the one I am wearing in the photo above, as the weather transitions from cold to warm over the next couple of months. I am also looking forward to pairing it with summer outfits, followed by fall ensembles. This is a watch to wear forever. Love!

You can see all of the fabulous watch-faces, and watch straps, by Shore Projects online at ShoreProjects.com. You can also find select styles online here.
