Summer sandals 2021

summer sandals 2021

Summer sandals 2021 from left: black puffy casual slides / yellow puffy block heel slides / woven leather black slides /

Summer is fast approaching! As the weather warms up during the spring season, we are all thinking about investing in at least one pair of sandals to get us through late spring, the summer season, and early fall. This summer, sandals have taken a new turn; so ditch last years sandals, there are new styles and trends to love this year!

The summer 2021 season is all about retro, 1990s vibes and comfort. As we ditch our slippers and go back out into the wild, we need actual street shoes. The dilemma is that we all got used to wearing super comfy, cushy slippers all day long. Not this year! We are all getting back to our almost-normal lives, and we need shoes we can wear out on the streets! In order to solve this comfort-vs-utility problem, sandals and shoes for 2021 are throwing back to the late 1990s when comfort was king, and jokes were made. Oh yes, I am talking about the mall shoe.

Mall shoes are not as bad as they were twenty plus years ago. This time around, designers have made the style more sleek and chic; keeping the comfort, but ditching the bubble bottoms. Love that! So when you shop for summer sandals this year, look for slides with thick soles which offer both comfort and style.

In addition to thicker, flat soles, mules and block heel slides are all the rage. Look for easy-to-walk-in sculpted heels and block heels. Want to keep your slides funky? I knew you would! Puffy shoes are back. Remember them from roughly 2003? Puffy slides and sandals are very in this year; and they are very comfortable! Instead of going for the skinny strap trend, which I am skipping because they cut up your feet, look for puffy styles which are like pillows on your feet. Love!

Unless you have been quarantining in a cave without wifi, you know by now that everything Bottega Veneta is hotter than hot. Of course, their prices are on the high side. If BV is above your budget, never fear, the woven leather trend is here! All brands and price ranges offer woven leather sandals and slides this year. Woven leather is soft too; so if puffy shoes aren’t your thing, you can opt for the sleeker, more classic look of woven leather.

Slides are hotter than strappy sandals this year. Prove me wrong.

So as you shop for summer sandals in 2021, don’t be afraid to opt for comfort. Comfort is king this year. Also, have some fun with your sandals! Look for puffy styles, woven leathers, sculpted heels, and fun colors. Think of this summer as the roaring twenties, have fun with your footwear!

I opted for three pairs of slides this summer as my summer sandal wardrobe. One yellow, puffy pair of block heel slides as my fun shoes, one pair of casual and puffy black slides for everyday wear, and one pair of dressier, woven leather slides. I feel like three pairs fit my lifestyle this year. All three pairs are comfortable, and easy to walk in; that’s what we all need this year!

Pink bomber jacket for spring and Mansur Gavriel shoes

casual pink bomber jacket for spring pink mansur gavriel bucket bag 1 stadium jacket for spring 1mansur gavriel slides review bomber jacket in pink for spring 1

Pictured: Earrings: Devon Leigh / Sunglasses: Chanel / Lipstick: c/o Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa / Tank: Massimo / Bomber Jacket: Topshop / Necklace: Kendra Scott / Skirt: Banana Republic / Rings: Kendra Scott (past season, also love these rings) / Handbag: Mansur Gavriel (large in stock here) / Nail Polish: Chanel Chaine Or / Shoes: Mansur Gavriel

The weather in the spring can fluctuate from forty degrees, up to the high seventies. This means we all need a fabulous, lightweight jacket for the cooler parts of spring! I always keep a denim jacket on hand for spring, but one jacket can get boring fast. I decided to jump on the bomber jacket bandwagon, and invest in one for the spring season. (sometimes they are referred to as a stadium jacket)

So. . .raise your hand if you remember bomber jackets in the 1980s! My hand is up! Did I just date myself? haha, oh well. I was in grade school in the 1980s, and I had a shiny, green, bomber jacket. Everyone had one back then, they were the “IT” jacket to own; much cooler than those cotton twill things (members only jackets-yikes!) the nerd boys used to wear!

My Mother always told me to never re-wear a trend from your childhood, but weren’t fashion rules meant to be broken? Of course! So, I sprung for this cute little bomber jacket in pale pink. If I am going to jump on a trend, why not in the color of the year?!

This bomber jacket is quite cozy; it is perfect for wearing over lightweight tops. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we need to be able to peel off our layers. The fog will bring in fifty degree weather in the morning, then when it burns off, the temperatures can rise ten, or twenty degrees in one hour. So having a light top underneath a jacket is key. The bomber jacket trend for spring is perfect for our weather! Love that!

I also need to give a shout-out to these Mansur Gavriel mules also known as slides. Did you know Mansur Gavriel is making shoes now? Love them! These slides are super comfy; and perfect for the spring, and summer months. I bought them in classic black so that I can reach for them often. As you know, I am a Mansur Gavriel superfan; so these shoes not only gleam fabulous style, they are extremely well made! Of course price-wise, they are a great value. I don’t know how Mansur Gavriel makes such high quality handbags, and shoes, without the sky-high price tag to go with it! More reason to love Mansur Gavriel slides or mules, and their collection in general.

This outfit will be a go-to for the spring season. I mixed a 1970s inspired denim skirt, with a 1980s inspired bomber jacket, and mid-1990s inspired slides. Why not mix decades? It’s more fun to mix it up. Right?

What do you think of Mansur Gavriel’s new shoe collection? Are you planning to rock the bomber jacket trend? Leave a comment and let me know!

Tie shoes for spring 2016

tie shoes for spring 2016

From top left: black heels (on my wish list!!) / mid heel sandal (under $100!) / fringe sandal (on my wish list too!) / nude flats (only $110! ) / black flat sandals (under $100!!) / black flats (I bought these last year and love them!!)

Tie up shoes for spring 2016 are hotter than hot. This fabulous, and flirty, trend has been going strong since last year; and it is showing no sign of slowing down for spring 2016. This might be the hottest shoe trend of the spring season!

Tie up flats, sandals, high heels, and lace up booties, have been on the radar since last year. As gladiator sandals slow down in the new year, other tie up styles are taking center stage. The most versatile tie up shoe you can find this spring 2016 season is the tie up flat. Above I show a designer pick, which I own from last year and love, and a similar pair for only $110. This tie up shoe style is perfect for wearing right now, and during the spring season, as well as into the summer season. It takes the place of the ballet flat; making it great for both casual and dressy outfits. Love that!

Many of the lace up, high heel styles, are incorporating the continuing fringe trend for spring 2016. Look for more shoes style like this to hit store shelves int he next few months. This style was spotted on the runway for spring 2016, my favorite runway version is here. I love the affordable version pictured above too.

Tie up shoes for spring 2016 are being shown in black, nude, shades of brown, and red! Of course there are other colors on the market, but these are the most popular, or common, colors you will see on store shelves right now. Personally I think a good black or neutral color is the way to go this season. It will work well with any outfit you put together.

What do you think of the tie up shoes trend for spring 2016? Will you be rocking it, or leaving it on the shelf?
