Transitioning with Eclection

There is something about the month of August which always makes me want to ditch my summer wardrobe and move right into fall. Unfortunately, this is a little difficult to do in the San Francisco Bay Area. After all, our summer weather continues into late October; and sometimes early November! To solve this wardrobe dilemma, I look for color combinations which evoke an autumn feel yet can still pass for “normal” in August.

I was really excited when I first saw the new “Eclection” collection from Twisted Silver for late summer. The necklace and earrings offer the current trend towards smaller jewelry for fall 2013 in a transitional color palette! It is like Twisted Silver read my mind! Love them!

The beautiful “Eclection” collection from Twisted Silver features an eclectic combination of vintage crystal, glass pearls and brass. The colors on the “Eclection” collection include pale blue, pale amber, pearl and a pop of fall 2013’s hottest hue; red! Love that!

Twisted Silver’s new “Eclection” collection completes my transitional look from summer into fall through both colors and scale. I cannot wait to wear this collection through fall!

Fall 2013 color trends: shade of red

Red is always a huge color trend for the autumn season. Although, for the fall/winter 2013/2014 season, this bright yet classic hue dominated the runways in Paris, Milan, New York and London; and is currently dominating store shelves.

There are many shades of red for the fall 2013 season. We are seeing shades of red ranging from bright, fire engine red through to deep, dark burgundy. The wine shades are dropping into every category of red imaginable; making shopping your closet for fall, if you are a red fan, the easiest thing in the world!

There are no rules when it comes to red! Red is everywhere for fall from lipstick to nail polish to tonal ensembles to shoes to handbags; literally all over the place! If you love red, fall 2013 is your season! If you tend to shy away from red, why not add a little spice to your fall 2013 wardrobe with one pair of red hot, pointy toe pumps or a red satchel?!

I found a few fabulous shades of red for the fall 2013 season and assembled them into the shopping widget below. Hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous

Laura Mercier “Spellbound” face illuminator

Laura Mercier’s new fall 2013 beauty collection “Dark Spell” includes a sparkling face illuminator; “Spellbound.” This fabulous pressed powder offers a natural, soft finish to your face which works on light to olive skin tones. The powder leaves the skin “illuminated” without adding shine or an oily effect. Love that!

I was thrilled when Laura Mercier sent me the fall 2013 face illuminator “Spellbound” to sample. When I first opened the compact, the beautiful wavy design took my breath away. I love when cosmetic companies take the time to make their beauty products beautiful; after all, the products are supposed to make us beautiful, so shouldn’t they be beautiful themselves? Yes, of course!

I was very pleased with how Laura Mercier’s face illuminator “Spellbound” worked on my skin. I wore it casually during the day without foundation and it set my blush as well as kept my skin from looking oily during the warm summer weather. I also tried “Spellbound” over foundation and concealer at night. Again, it kept my make-up set without allowing my skin to shine from oil. Perfection!

Laura Mercier’s new face illuminator “Spellbound” is my favorite beauty product. I am wearing it everyday for the perfect finish! I highly recommend “Spellbound” and rate the face illuminator five out of five stars.

Laura Mercier’s fall 2013 face illuminator “Spellbound” is priced at $42 and can be found online here.
