Perfect poncho for a Bay Area winter

how dress in bay area winter jw anderson bag combat bootsbay area street style combat boot trend winter 2017poncho bay area winter

wearing: bold rose gold-tone circle earrings / Bobbi Brown lipstick “Lilac” / pale pink long sleeve tee (comes in several colors-so comfy!) / black knit poncho (also comes in grey) / bold rose gold cuff (on major sale!) / red JW Anderson bag / jeans (on major sale!) / Dior holiday nail polish / charcoal suede combat boots (so comfy!)

Despite the fact that temperatures have fallen to the forties at night, the daytime highs can hover anywhere between fifty, and seventy degrees, during the Bay Area winters. A winter poncho is a Bay Area girl’s best friend when temperatures fluctuate like this during the day. I love that I found one for this winter season!

This poncho is great for daytime temperatures. In the early morning, or at night, I can add a scarf or blanket scarf to make it more cozy. This poncho is my current go-to, cold casual day, outfit “enhancer!” haha, I am going to call it an “Outfit Enhancer” because I believe a poncho can elevate an everyday tee shirt and jeans look to something on-trend.

Yes. . .it is entirely possible “Outfit Enhancer” was inspired by Spongebob’s “Sentence Enhancer” episode. haha I watch too much TV with my kids!

Speaking of TV, what shows have you been into lately? I just watched WAGS LA on demand last week, and now I am hooked! I got through the first two seasons, now I need to catch up on the current season. I am also hooked on all the Real Housewives shows, and Southern Charm. Do you have any shows you have been hooked on lately?

But I digress. . .what types of “Outfit Enhancers” do you like to use to amp up your everyday, casual looks?

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

The cooler weather is finally starting to arrive! This means we all need a fabulous winter coat! When I shop for my winter coat, I always look for something which is both fabulous and classic. My coat needs to integrate seamlessly into my wardrobe without clashing. Nothing is more frustrating then reaching for a coat on a cold winter day, and it looks horrible with your outfit!

This is what I love about Sosken Studios coats, they are all fabulous, and timeless. Their silhouettes work well with both casual, and dressier ensembles. This is a coat I can reach for anytime I am cold without being concerned as to whether or not it will work with my outfit. It will definitely work with my outfit! Love that!

Sosken Studios makes the most luxurious, fashionable, and comfortable coats I have ever experienced. This coat is soft, easy to move in, and lightweight. It adds so much warmth, without adding any bulk. I don’t have to worry about looking like a balloon while bundled up in this coat. It can be layered without adding thirty pounds to my 5’4″ frame. Love!

This will definitely be my go-to coat this fall/winter season. I can’t wait to bring it to New York with me when I attend fashion week in February. It will be the perfect coat!

Sosken Studios has so many beautiful coats for fall and winter. I am eyeing this faux fur number, this quilted down jacket, and this tailored topcoat. Aren’t they fabulous!

You can find this coat at SoskenStudios.com

Asymmetrical lines at New York Fashion Week

wearing: silver oval earrings / Chanel lipstick / black draping asymmetrical dress (under $200!!) / bold silver cuff (on major sale!!) / Chanel fall nail polish / Givenchy bag / black and silver watch / silver booties (so comfortable!)

One of the biggest questions I have to answer every season when I go to fashion week is, ‘what do I wear at New York Fashion Week?’ There are several different directions one could go when choosing a New York Fashion Week outfit. Some people dress comfortably and blend into the crowd, while others wear a trend salad in the craziest way possible in the hopes that street style photographers will capture their image.  I’m closer to the comfort zone, then the pea-cocking zone (as dressing to photographed it referred to).

The clothing I buy for my New York Fashion Week outfits need to be pieces I know I will re-wear when in my daily life. I have needed a new little black dress for my closet for several months now. This prompted me to find a fabulous little black dress I could wear to fashion week, as well as keep in my closet for last minute dinners, theater events, and parties. A little black dress which is both comfortable and flattering is always the perfect wardrobe staple!

I was thrilled to find this little black dress. It has draped, asymmetrical lines which is an extremely hot trend for fall 2017. The fabric is a cotton jersey which feels like a soft tee-shirt but looks dressier then a tee. The draping hits in all the right spots; taking ten pounds off my body. I love clothing which makes me thinner then I am! Love!

Despite the fact that I was wearing black, famous street style photographer Denton Taylor snapped a few photos of my little black dress! It was so much fun! Who says you can’t get snapped by photographers while being practical in your fashion week outfit ideas?

These silver boots turned out to be really comfortable, and helped get me through a long day of shows. I did a lot of standing in lines, and walking to shows; these boots were made walking, and that’s just what they did! Love that!

This was my outfit for Saturday, which was my second day of shows at New York Fashion Week. I went to Taoray Wang, Runa Ray, Custo Barcelona, Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo, A Detacher, and Academy of Art. Between A Detacher and Acdemy of Art, I swung over to the rewardStyle Rooftop Part. It was so much fun seeing so many of my fellow bloggers; and many blogger friends! Here is a fun little video I took with Dawn from Fashion Should be Fun and Laura from Have Need Want. We are “Charlie’s Angels.” You can tell, right? haha

Stay tuned for more coverage from the New York Fashion Week shows. Spring 2018 is looking fabulous!
