I have always been a huge fan of jewelry. I love adding a bold necklace to an outfit, or lighting up my face with a pair of dazzling earrings. When springtime hits, I love wearing bracelets to dress up my arms when I wear short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, and sleeveless styles. So, when Rocksbox contacted me to collaborate, I was thrilled!

Rocksbox is a fabulous jewelry subscription service which allows you the opportunity to rent on-trend baubles by today’s hottest jewelry designers. Rocksbox offers jewelry for rent, and purchase, by designers such as Margaret Elizabeth ( a Bay Area designer!), Kendra Scott, Gorjana, and more!

My first Rocksbox arrived quickly, and the packaging was so cute! Each piece of jewelry was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap; so it was able to travel safely to my home. Love that! There was an easy to use return label inside the box, and return packaging inside the original package. This will make it easy to return the box filled with jewels at the end of the month. I love things which are easy 😉

If you love the pieces sent inside your Rocksbox, you have the option to purchase them at a discounted rate. I am thrilled with this feature since I tend to get attached to baubles!

Rocksbox has an easy to use website which allows you to create a wish list filled with the jewels you are interested in testing out.. This is a great way to try different styles of jewelry before committing to buy. Love that! The necklace in my Rocksbox was on my wish list. I was excited to receive a wish list item so quickly. I cannot wait to style it with my spring wardrobe!

Stay tuned, I will be styling my Rocksbox pieces with a few of my spring outfits.

When I was in New York for fashion week, I took a break from the shows in order to visit Kendra Scott’s showroom in the Garment District. As a fan of her jewelry, I found myself walking into jewelry heaven! The showroom featured Kendra Scott’s classic collection, the Spring 2015 “Avant Garden” collection, her summer 2015 “Via Maya” collection, and a peek her fall 2015 collection, which is in progress.

Kendra Scott’s spring 2015 collection, “Avant Garden” is a beautiful and dreamy collection filled with pastel agate, opal, quartz, and drusy. The stones are set in gold, silver, and rose gold settings. There were edgy styles like crawler earrings, bold statement earrings such as the “Kaki Earrings,” and seasonal takes on her classic collection. I have fallen in love with the “Susanna Bracelets,” and every necklace in the collection. I cannot wait to collect a few pieces!

For summer 2015, Kendra Scott took her inspiration from the mystifying jungles of The City of Dawn, Tulum, Mexico, and the Mayan culture. The collection has taken a bold turn away from her classic collection, yet successfully captured the appeal which has placed her on the fashion map. Although the designs are new and exciting, the summer 2015 “Via Maya” collection stays true to the brand; you will be impressed!

Due in stores April 15, 2015, Kendra Scott’s “Via Maya” collection for summer 2015 offers bright colors, triangular tiering, and a vibe which will transport you to an exotic beach location in Mexico. Not only do I have many of the summer 2015 pieces on my wish list, I am suddenly craving a vacation to Mexico!

Here are a few pictures of the summer 2015 “Via Maya” collection due in stores April, 2015.

New York Fashion Week winter outfit

I wore this outfit at New York Fashion on day three. I knew I would be visiting Kendra Scott’s showroom that day, and I wanted to wear an outfit designed around my favorite new necklace by Kendra Scott; just purchased in January! I absolutely love the bright color, and bold design, of this classic necklace by Kendra Scott. I had to design an outfit which would be all about the necklace, and would really show off the beautiful, bright color. I loved this black and white dress by Kate Spade and found it would be the perfect backdrop for the necklace. Since I knew I would be wearing these black and white, lug sole high heels by BCBG in New York, I thought it would be fun to color block the whole look black and white; while still allowing the bright hue of the necklace to shine through.

The weather in New York was beyond cold. As a “born and raised” NorCal girl, I felt like I had fallen into the frozen tundra; never to return! So, on my first, and second day, in New York, I bundled up in black pants (different pair each day!) and my coat. I wore my flat, lug sole boots by Donald J Pliner which I scored on sale, and wrapped myself in a scarf. It was cozy and comfy; perfect to combat the single digit temperatures! By day three I had acclimated which resulted in pulling out my heels and dressing up!

It was interesting to see all the people standing outside Lincoln Center either waiting for friends, or hoping to get their picture taken by street style photographers. Many of them were not wearing warm clothing; some even had bare legs! I guess when someone is from a cold climate, the wind chill doesn’t bother them. Not this California girl! I was frozen like a popsicle! I found myself walking really fast from the hotel to the shows; as well as from cabs to off-site shows. Brrr!

Well, I survived, and even wore tights three days in a row! Three cheers for avoiding frostbite!!

How do you survive the cold temperatures when you are traveling? Do you acclimate easily?

Stay tuned! In a few days I will post Kendra Scott’s beautiful spring 2015 collection; as well as give you a sneak peek at her amazing summer collection which will debut in April.
