I am so excited the economy is opening back up! Last week, I was able to meet up with my friend Dawn from Fashion Should be Fun for the first time since everything shut down last year. It was so emotional and amazing to see her in person, and to be able to talk non-stop; and talk non-stop we did!

We met up at Santana Row and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Straits. If you are local, and haven’t eaten there yet, what are you waiting for? The food is delicious! It’s an Asian fusion menu with healthy options available. Since I am on a diet, it was really easy to find something healthy and delicious on their menu. I enjoyed the Fuji apple and prawn salad as well as the roti appetizer, which I shared with Dawn.

After lunch, we took a walk around Santana Row and browsed through several shops. It was such a nice day, and we were having so much fun, we walked across the street to Valley Fair!

We took a walk around Valley Fair and window shopped; especially where there were handbags. haha. How fun are these teeny, tiny little handbags at the Jimmy Choo shop! They were literally doll sized. I don’t think a phone could fit inside, just maybe keys and a lipstick? They were so cute! I tried to find them on their website for you, but they aren’t there. If you have a Jimmy Choo boutique where you live, go check them out. They’re so cute and fun!

The entire excursion was a little over two hours, then I had to go and pick up my kids from school; another fun thing that has reopened! Yay!

In order to ensure I was comfortable, and ready for a lot of walking, I wore these soft and comfy espadrilles. They are a fabulous go-to shoe for warm days; it was in the mid-80’s. The jeans were comfy too, and of course the tee was perfect for the weather! I really am addicted to these puff sleeves! It might be my favorite trend of the year!

I am looking forward to June 15 when the state officially reopens! Fingers crossed we end our mask mandate soon too. What have you been up to lately now that things are reopening?

Thanks for stopping by!

Torn jeans for fall

torn jeans fall 2020

wearing: pale green and gold earrings / fall lipstick / black boxy tee (under $15) / black belt with snake buckle / black bucket bag / torn skinny jeans / fall nail polish / chain link bracelet / loafer slides (similar under $150) /

I cannot believe I am saying this; torn jeans are hot for fall.

We enjoyed a short reprieve from the destroyed denim trend over the past year. That reprieve is over. While I enjoyed looking at clean, intact denim for the past year, there is something about torn denim for fall which intrigues me. Perhaps it is because we are all a little torn inside this year, so seeing torn denim for fall just feels right.

I have to admit, I am loving the character of torn denim. The destroyed knees, and frayed hems, have been in and out of style since I was in middle school. There is something edgy about it; not to mention the tears offer some free air conditioning during the fall months. Fall seems like it would be a cool season, but once the morning fog burns off, we can get temperatures in the 80’s, 90’s, and even 100’s. Is it winter yet? Asking for a friend. . .

This pair of torn skinny jeans is super comfortable; and I love the variation of the frayed hems. They work well with both flat and heeled footwear. Right now, while temperatures are still warm, I love pairing them with my loafer slides since it offers a fall vibe, while allowing me to stay cool. If you don’t have a pair of loafer slides yet, what are you waiting for? Seriously, they are classic and versatile. You will love them!

I wore this outfit out on a walk with my family in downtown Saratoga. The city “hid” six, large metal acorns around the downtown area, so the kids had fun searching for them. Turned out the “hiding” places were on top of planters or benches. haha We also enjoyed seeing the new parklets for outdoor dining. I was in love with the parklet for The Plumed Horse, pictured above. It had chandeliers! Fabulous!

The fall 2020 season is also bringing us a 90’s MTV vibe. This oversized, boxy tee is reminiscent of 90’s hip-hop, and I am here for it! After all, us GenX girls made the 90’s happen. My teens may think this is their trend, but it’s really mine and ours. HA! So let’s enjoy the resurgence, and rock our boxy, oversize tee’s, with patchwork denim or torn denim! We got this!

What do you think of the return of torn denim for fall? Will you be rocking this trend?

Thanks for stopping by!

Feeling spring vibes in a spring trench coat

early spring outfitssan jose street stylespring street style

wearing: blue and silver earrings / lipstick / black twist tee / black belt / spring trench coat / spring nail polish / Chloe bag / spring jeans / Gucci slides /

Ooooh, it’s starting to look a lot like spring over here! The groundhog was right! The Magnolia’s are blooming, white and pink tree blossoms are flourishing, and the flowers in my front yard are starting to peek out of their green buds. The sun is shining, and offering us daytime temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s. Of course, since it is still winter, the mornings are hovering in the 40’s, and at night it is quite cold. We are getting there!

It feels so close to spring! The spring vibes during the day are causing me to pull out my new spring pieces before I have figured out my spring wardrobe! This spring trench coat is perfect for cutting off the morning chill. It’s lightweight, yet heavy enough to keep me warm with just a tee underneath during our winter mornings. Then, I can take it off during the warmer hours, and put it back on when the sun starts to set, and temperatures drop dramatically. Plus, spring trench coats are a hot trend this year, so you know I will want to rock that!

As we move into spring, denim washes are getting lighter. Hemlines on jeans are starting to hit at the ankles, or be cropped. Look for styles which will show off your fabulous new spring shoes! I have not looked into spring footwear just yet, but slides are definitely hot this year. Thankfully I have my go-to Gucci slides which I love wearing every spring and fall season. They are easy to put on, and offer enough coverage to keep my toes warm. They are great for transitioning from winter into spring. Love them! This pair will definitely be in spring capsule wardrobe! Stay tuned for that. . .

How are temperatures where you live? Are you getting a peek at spring yet?
