Have you ever wondered how to wear a vintage brooch? Or perhaps you want to wear a vintage brooch in a new, and unexpected way; so you are looking for a fun way to wear a vintage brooch. I accidentally discovered a new way to wear my coveted vintage brooch last week!

This vintage brooch was originally purchased by my Mother in the 1960’s. It is a beautiful, sparkling green brooch which shines brighter than an emerald. I have loved this brooch since I was a small child; playing dress up in my Mother’s closet. When I asked to borrow it one day in my mid-20’s, my Mom told me she doesn’t wear it anymore, and knowing how much I have always loved it, told me I could keep it! Yay! Since then, I have always treasured this brooch as if it were a million dollar piece of jewelry.

Last Thursday, I was putting on my dress, pictured above, for the Junior League Sustainer dinner. I had eaten a thousand calorie lunch that day, and was a bit bloated; or maybe I have gained weight and will not admit it. Ha! Anyway, the button at the waist was popping a bit, and I really wanted to make this outfit happen. So, instead of pinning the brooch where I would normally place a name tag, I thought it might be the perfect cover-up for the popping waist button. It worked!

Not only did the brooch hide the popping button, it added a new dimension to the outfit as a whole. I love it! I feel like I have accidentally found a new, fun way to wear a vintage brooch. I am looking forward to wearing it like a belt buckle, without hiding a popping button, on future outfits.

What is your favorite way to wear a vintage brooch?

Chanel Mariniere nail polish review

chanel mariniere nail polish review

Pictured: Chanel Mariniere nail polish from Chanel’s Longwear colour collection.

Chanel Mariniere nail polish is a new, dark navy blue hue from Chanel’s Longwear nail polish collection. The new Longwear nail polish collection has replaced Chanel’s previous nail polish collection, and is “five-free” as well as long wearing, and chip-resistant. Love!

Mariniere by Chanel is a deep, dark, navy blue shade which is great to wear during the spring season; as well as the upcoming fall season. It is a classic color which can easily be worn on a daily basis, with any seasonal color palette. Of course, I love seeing navy in it’s traditional seasons which are spring, and fall.

I tested out Chanel Mariniere nail polish with one base coat, two coats of color, and one top coat. The nail polish is incredibly long-lasting; remaining chip-free for over one week. I had to change it when my nails began to grow out. I don’t like seeing nail growth with dark nail polish. I love how long this nail polish lasted; and the beautiful color saturation!

Chanel Mariniere is a cream nail polish which covers the nail easily. There wasn’t any streaking, and the polish glided on smoothly; making for an easy manicure. Love that!

Since Chanel Mariniere was introduced as part of Chanel’s new Longwear collection, it is not attached to any particular season. I see this as a classic nail polish color which can be worn for many spring, and fall seasons to come. I love having a staple in my nail polish collection I can look forward to wearing at a particular time of the year.

Have you tried Chanel’s new Longwear nail polish collection yet? If so, what did you think? This is my third bottle, and I have been extremely happy with the longevity of the polish, as well as the color selection. I am looking forward to seeing Chanel’s traditional seasonal offerings soon. I hope they add more metallics, and foils! What types of color, or polishes, would you like to see in their Longwear collection?

Chanel Roubachka nail polish review

chanel longwear nail polish new formula

Pictured: Chanel Roubachka nail polish from the new for spring 2016, longwear formula collection

Chanel Roubachka nail polish is a deep, dark purple hue from Chanel’s new longwear nail polish formula collection. This new for spring 2016 color offers a dark, vampy color which is mysterious, and alluring. I am in love!

If you have not tried Chanel’s new nail polish formula yet, you must try it! You can find the entire collection online here. This nail polish DOES. NOT. CHIP! I cannot even begin to describe to you how amazing this is! My nails grow, and that is the only time I see my actual nail. The polish stays put; even after cleaning the house, washing dishes, and working out. It is truly magical!

For spring 2016, Chanel Roubachka nail polish is a new color from the longwear nail polish collection. This color is a classic, vampy purple which could be worn during any season of the year. I would love to wear this color in the fall months. I feel like it works perfectly with the upcoming color palette for autumn we just saw on the runways. It is true perfection!

I tested out Chanel Roubachka nail polish with one base coat, two coats of color, and one top coat. There were zero chips after eight days! I cleaned my house, without gloves, in order to test the strength of Chanel’s new nail polish formula. It withstood scrubbing the kitchen, four bathrooms, mopping the floor, picking up toys, picking up legos (you know how tedious this can be), and dusting. I also worked out with weights at the gym, which can chip nail polish. Nope! No chips! I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming. Chanel Roubachka nail polish, and Chanel’s new formula in general, is amazing.

There are fifteen new colors from Chanel’s new longwear nail polish collection. The collection includes several favorite hues, as well as new colors for the spring season. I never thought Chanel could improve upon their formula, but they did! Wow!

If you see a color from Chanel’s new nail polish collection you would like me to test out, let me know in the comments below. I cannot wait to see more colors added to the collection in this new longwear formula. It is so fabulous!
