Favorite shoes and boots from Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2016

Best shoes boots Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2016

Pictured from top left: lace-up flats (hot IT item at a great price, similar pair on sale under $90 here) / slip-on sneakers / low heel black booties / fringe booties (I bought these in black and LOVE them! Fringe is hot for fall!!) / Mary Janes (I bought these in black, Mary Janes are hot for fall!!) / burgundy booties / rain boots (classic closet staple at a great price-must have for rainy days!) / tie-up heels (IT item!!!) / riding boots (classic closet staple-I love Tory Burch shoes, super comfortable and high quality!) / grey booties (cute and classic!)

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing, with public access beginning on July 22, 2016. There are SO MANY shoes and boots, so I thought I would navigate the sale and bring you my favorites; in order to help you save time!

The shoes and booties I chose are either classic, closet staples, or reflect the runway trends for fall 2016. This fall, fringe on shoes and boots is still a HOT trend. Look for more tie-up shoes too! Street sneakers and slip-on sneakers are still an IT thing for casual days, and Mary Janes with thick, or stacked heels, are the IT pump of the season. I love this pair of Mary Janes because they reflect the trend perfectly, and the price is great! I always love a deal on a trendy item. 🙂

These rain boots are as much a wardrobe staple as a Burberry trench coat for rainy days. I am so excited they are on sale in black! That is about as classic as it gets. If you don’t already own Hunter boots, this is a great opportunity to get a pair! Love the sale price!

I am very excited about these riding boots too. Tory Burch makes really comfortable shoes and boots, so finding a classic pair of riding boots made by her is a dream come true! The price is amazing too.

I hope you are enjoying the sale, and finding great deals! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Turtleneck sweater and boots

It has been such a cold fall season! As we head into winter here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the weather is getting chillier, and chillier! Due to this fact, I find myself reaching for my turtleneck sweater a few times per week!

A turtleneck sweater is such a great piece on its’ own, or layered under a coat. I love how it can be casual when paired with jeans, or look pulled together with an office appropriate skirt. A turtleneck sweater can also be spiced up with long necklaces, or a blanket scarf! Love that!

In the photos above, I paired my favorite turtleneck sweater with a warm, wool blend skirt from last year. I adore this skirt! I originally purchased it for fashion week in September 2014. It worked out well in my suitcase since it was easy to pair with different tops. I love how it is black in back, and grey in front!

In order to wear a skirt in the 40 degree weather we have been enduring lately, I have found my boots are a life saver. They keep my legs warm, and allow me to wear skirts for church or work meetings. If you have been following along, you have seen me write about how fabulous these boots are in past articles. They are extremely comfortable, I can walk for miles in them, and they are currently on sale! Fabulous!

Which pieces do you find yourself reaching for often in order to stay warm? Do you brave wearing skirts in cold weather, or do you stick with warm pants?

One of the fabulous things about living in the San Francisco Bay Area is the close proximity to Lake Tahoe. I love going to Lake Tahoe in the summer to enjoy the lake, nature and for outdoor activities. I also enjoy going to Lake Tahoe in the winter in order to play in the snow, sled and snowboard.

We recently returned from a quick family trip to the snow in Lake Tahoe, south shore. The snow pack was not very good, so we only hit the slopes for one day. Although there were hardly any lifts open, my kids had a blast and loved riding on the gondola up the mountain. For the remainder of our trip we let the kids play in the snow and we went sledding. The snow was perfect for sledding and the kids had so much fun sledding down the hill for HOURS! I drank a lot of hot cocoa during the sledding escapade 🙂

I was extremely thankful that the kids didn’t mind the skiing conditions and had a blast sledding and playing in the snow. Since I didn’t get to snowboard very much, I was thankful for my very warm and cozy coat; as well as hot cocoa!

Have you gone up to the mountains yet this ski season? If so, did you find good snow for skiing? If so, where did you go?!?!
