Laura Mercier’s new “Butterfly Wings” nail polish offers an on trend, yet classic look. One of the biggest trends in fashion right now is the iridescent look. Iridescent hues have been popping up on everything from handbags to shoes to clothing; and of course on nail polish! Laura Mercier’s “Butterfly Wings” offers that “of-the-moment” iridescent look in a classic, cool pink which is edgy and sleek.

“Butterfly Wings” by Laura Mercier is perfect for the winter 2014 season, the holiday 2013 season; and as we move into resort 2014. The soft, cool pink with an iridescent look blends well with the current season’s color palette. “Butterfly Wings” plays well with winter 2014’s pastels and holidays hues such as red, green and metallics. Laura Mercier’s “Butterfly Wings” also works well with resort 2014’s bright colors, cobalt hues and colorful patterns. This is an easy color to wear every day and every night throughout the season! After all, who has time during the holiday season to paint their nails every day to match a different outfit? Not me!

I absolutely adore the iridescent pink hue of Laura Mercier’s “Butterfly Wings” nail polish for winter, the holidays and as we move into the resort/cruise season. This is a great color to wear all the time.

I tested Laura Mercier’s “Butterfly Wings” with one base coat and two coats of color; no top coat. The polish lasted six days without chipping! Love that!

Laura Mercier’s “Butterfly Wings” nail polish is limited edition and priced at $18. If can be found online here.

Dolce & Gabbana The One 2014 edition review

Dolce & Gabbana “The One” is a beautiful, warm fragrance which has been on the market for several years. For 2014, Dolce & Gabbana has redesigned the popular eau de parfum and housed it in a beautiful polished, golden bottle. This fabulous bottle launches November 2013; just in for the holiday 2013 season! Love it!

Dolce & Gabbana “The One” EDP is on of my favorite fragrances. It is a light yet warm and sensuous fragrance experience which is easy to wear lightly during the day with one spritz, and heavier at night with two or three spritzes. “The One” by Dolce & Gabbana can also be worn heavier by layering it with the corresponding body lotion or shower gel.

The 2014 edtion of Dolce & Gabbana’s “The One” offers the same, woody floral fragrance experience yet offers the luxury of a golden bottle. Perfect gift for the holidays!

Dolce & Gabbana “The One” 2014 edition starts off with a fresh, fruity floral scent. After about thirty minutes the fruits settle down and a warm, smooth floral scent takes over from the Madonna Lily heart. As the day wears on, the floral scent mixes with a woody, warm base which lingers at the end of the day. The overall fragrance experience is a warm, woody floral which is smooth and not too sweet. Perfection!

Top notes: mandarin, lychee, peach, bergamot

Middle notes: Madonna Lily, muguet, jasmine

Base notes: amber,  musk, vanilla, vetyver

Dolce & Gabbana “The One” 2014 edition is priced at $108 and can be found online here and here.

Chanel Rouge Rubis Holiday 2013 nail polish review

Photo: Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish for Holiday 2013. One base coat, two coats color.

The holiday 2013 season is almost here! That means Chanel has already given us a holiday red nail polish for the festive season. This year, Chanel has created “Rouge Rubis” nail polish. Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish is a bright, cherry red which works perfectly with winter 2014’s candy colored trend. The red hue from Chanel “Rouge Rubis” is reminiscent of a Maraschino Cherry, as well as a sweet, candied cherry pie. It is not a red for the faint of heart; “Rouge Rubis” is bright and fun!

Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish has the perfect balance between a blue based red and an orange based red. “Rouge Rubis” plays well with both sides of the color spectrum making it an easy color to wear on a daily basis. I tested Chanel “Rouge Rubis” with one base coat and two coats of color; no top coat. The polish wore off the edges of the top of my nails within two days, but after the initial rub off on the edges, “Rouge Rubis” did not chip or flake for seven days. Love that!

“Rouge Rubis” by Chanel is a great cherry pie red for the holiday 2013 season, as well as for the nail polish guru who loves red! Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish is a fun red; much less serious than the red nail polish hues Chanel has produced over the past few holiday seasons. I love the playful nature of a cherry red and the fact that it does not chip easily is a huge bonus!

Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish is priced at $27 and can be found online here.
