Loafers and loafer pumps for fall 2012: the trend continues

Loafers and loafer pumps came back with a vengeance for fall 2011, and for fall 2012 they have shown no sign of slowing down. The menswear trend is huge this season, and loafers, as well as loafer pumps, make the perfect base for the menswear inspired looks this fall season.

Loafers for the fall 2012 season are being shown in more silhouettes than just the loafer pump; which was the loafer style that was huge for fall 2011. For fall 2012, loafers are being shown in flat styles; stacked 1” to 2” heels and also on a pump last. The heels are being shown in every width imaginable from stiletto to two or even three inches thick.

Loafers for fall 2012 are also being shown in color blocking with neutral hues as opposed to bright and vivid colors which were shown last season and last year. The neutral hues include ivory, beige, shades of brown, burgundy, oxblood, black and charcoal.

The loafer style is an easy shoe trend to wear. Loafers and loafer pumps look fabulous with any style of pants ranging from casual jeans on through to corporate gabardine trousers. Loafer pumps can easily be paired with pants, trousers, jeans, dresses and skirts making them perfect for day into not-too-dressy evening.

The fabrications being found on loafers and loafer pumps for fall 2012 include suede, smooth leather, faux leather and crackled leather. While the majority of the soles are platform, there are a few flat soled styles on store shelves and a handful of designers have created understated lug soles for their loafer styles.

We found a few easy to wear loafers around the web and assembled them into the Polyvore set below. Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Catch your dreams with Twisted Silver’s Dream Catcher necklace

Twisted Silver has devised a way for you to catch your dreams! Love this! The Bay Area jewelry designer has created a beautiful “Dream Catcher” necklace which will enable every Fashionista to capture her good dreams and let bad dreams disappear.

The Dream Catcher necklace is more than a beautiful piece of jewelry. Not only is Twisted Silver’s Dream Catcher necklace made from organic wood, raw brass and suede, it harkens back to a time when Native Americans were united during the Pan-Indian movement in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

The original “Dreamcatcher” necklaces were designed by Native American’s, more specifically the Ojibwa Nation. The “Dreamcatcher” symbolized unity during the Pan-Indian Movement of the 60’s and 70’s. Although they were a symbol of unity, the history behind the Dreamcatcher originates from the traditions of the Ojibwa Nation.

“Dreamcatchers” were objects which were made from personal and sacred items. The Native American version was handmade and based upon a willow hoop which had a woven net within the hoop. The net was then decorated with personal and sacred items which helped infants, children and adults get a good night’s sleep. The theory was that bad dreams would pass through the holes in the net and the good dreams would be captured in the net, slide through the personal items in the web and transfer to the person.

Twisted Silver’s version of the “Dream Catcher” necklace offers a modern design and can easily be worn on a daily basis to help enable you to capture the greatest dreams imaginable. To top it off, the necklace looks amazing and will easily spice up any casual outfit, making it the perfect everyday statement piece which is sure to start conversations! Love that!

Leather cuffs and bracelets for summer into fall

Leather cuffs and leather bracelets have been huge the past few seasons. Although, for summer 2012 and for fall 2012 leather cuffs and leather bracelets are exploding as arguably the most popular bracelet style on the street.

While not dominant on the runways, designers and jewelry brands alike have been designing and selling their own versions of the rocker chic leather bracelet. Fashionistas have flocked to the jewelry style over the past few seasons and the trend has taken off for summer 2012 and fall 2012.

Leather cuffs and bracelets have been shown in every color, type of leather and faux leather imaginable. Exotic skins, plain leather and faux leather are being shown on hard cuffs, soft bracelets and soft wrap bracelets.

Cuff bracelets which are made from leather are mainly being shown in smooth, understated styles. The unembellished cuffs are usually made from metal and feature leather or faux leather stretched around the outside to create a non-shiny, understated jewelry piece which is colorful and playful.

Bracelets made from leather and faux leather are anything but plain. Leather bracelets are shown with studs and embellishments for summer and fall. Leather bracelets for summer and fall offer rock n’ roll style as well as hardcore chic. The bracelets are shown as a traditional, once around style or as a wrap style which can go around the wrist anywhere from two to four times.

Leather cuffs and leather bracelets are also popular on the street as part of the stacked bracelet trend. Fashionistas love to stack about three bracelets on their arms and in general, one of these bracelets is made from leather and offers a spiky, rock n’ roll feel.

Leather bracelets also happen to be comfortable and are a great way to add a little sass and an edgy feel to any casual ensemble. We love them with fall’s leather legging trend! Love this! We found a few fabulous leather cuffs and bracelets from around the web, including a couple from Prada, and assembled them into the Polyvore set below. Hope you love it!
