The platform wedge is making a comeback for the spring 2015 season. Just when we thought platform shoes were fading into obscurity, lug soles raised the bottoms of shoes and now the platform wedge has dared to return! What is going on?! Obviously the shoe world is confused. 😉

Consumers have not completely abandoned platforms; despite the fact that they faded out of fashion two years ago. Due to this fact called consumer demand, designers and brands have quietly shipped platform wedges to stores for the spring season.

Although scarce on the runways, platform wedges are being spotted on store shelves for the spring season in droves. Almost every designer and brand has produced at least one platform wedge style for the spring season. Platform wedges are being spotted in various styles from flatform to styles with a 4″ pitch. There is something for everyone when it comes to platform wedges this spring 2015 season.

Platform wedges are also being shown in every color of the season; as well as neutral and black tones.Designers have opted to design platform wedges for casual dress this spring season. To make the style casual, spring 2015’s platform wedges are being shown with cork, nautical rope and wood soles. This makes the style easy to pair with breezy pants, flowing cotton skirts, jeans and shorts. It is the “IT” weekend and casual shoe for spring 2015. Love it!

What do you think of the return of the platform wedge for the spring 2015 season? Are you ready to rock a pair of platforms again? Or, is it too soon to go sky-high?

If you saved your platform wedges from 2010-2012, you can easily shop your closet this spring season and save your shoe budget for other styles. If you already donated those platform wedges, or you just want new shoes (doesn’t everyone?!), then here are a few of my favorite spring styles from around the web: happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Chanel Desirio nail polish spring 2015 review

Chanel Desirio nail polish spring 2015

Pictured: Chanel Desirio nail polish for spring 2015. Two coats of color, one base coat, no top coat.

Chanel Desirio nail polish is a bright fuchsia hue from Chanel spring 2015 beauty collection. This bright fuchsia is on the dark side and can be a substitute for red this spring season. Chanel Desirio is also a good nail polish to wear with this season’s bright colors. Love it!

For spring 2015, designers are showing pastels, muted colors, true colors and brights. When it comes to color tone, there are no rules for spring! This means you can choose a color tone you love and stick with it for the season. If you love bright colors, true colors and muted hues, Chanel Desirio nail polish will work well with all of those color tones. It is also a great alternative for red this spring 2015 season if you prefer to keep your nails classic; but are tired of red after the holiday season.

I tested Chanel Desirio nail polish with two coats of color and one base coat; no top coat. The nail polish lasted for five days before chipping. I really enjoy wearing this color. It worked well with my current, winter wardrobe; and I can tell it will work well with my upcoming spring wardrobe. It is an easy color to wear and looks great day or night. Love that!

Chanel Desirio nail polish is also a good nail color for wearing from spring into summer. If you want one nail polish color to stay with through both seasons, this is the color to reach for. It’s bright nature will easily carry you through spring 2015’s color palette’s into summer 2015’s color wheel.

Maison Margiela Artisanal 2015 runway show

Maison Margiela held their “Artisanal” 2015 runway show on Monday, January 12, 2015 in London featuring John Galliano’s debut with the design house. The collection is a fabulous fusion between Maison Margiela’s sleek-yet-edgy vibe and John Galliano’s avant-garde style. Here are a few photos from the runway show and notes from Maison Margiela.

Notes from Maison Margiela

A process of discovery, returning to one’s roots. Piece by piece, deconstructing and constructing a new story for Margiela.

A deep commitment to the extraordinary possibilities of the Maison’s Atelier and the art of Haute Couture.

Approaching tailoring, techniques, craftsmanship like a new explorer, or painter. One who sees beauty in things that are often taken for granted, giving everything a newly enriched life.

A powerful and fierce yet refined mix of fabrics and materials. Stripped down, or reborn together in startling and unexpected ways.

New direction given with play on proportion and sartorial rules. Languid, sweeping. Precise tailoring. A new fuller, revealing silhouette.

Eyes wide open in wonderment to a veritable Cabinet de Curiosités. A jigsaw of lacquered shells reminiscent of Arcimboldo style figures. A miniature battalion charging across a black velvet shoulder. Pearls that bring teardrops of memories to the face.

Looking through the glass, discovering an elusive, rare even arrestingly strange new beauty, of muses who nonchalantly arouse your senses.

The Finale of Toiles. The Cabine marching in honest testimony of the process, the trials and errors, the time and emotion behind each cut, each line, each vision.

A world deep in its past but with promises of the future.

There you have it! What do you think of John Galliano’s debut with Maison Margiela with the “Artisanal” show in London? I have to admit, I am in love!
