Now that “Radiant Orchid” has been declared the color of 2014 by color authority Pantone, it is only natural that every shoe loving Fashionista on Earth would love to add at least one pair of fabulous shoes in a hue as close to Radiant Orchid as possible; right here, right now. So I went ahead and scoured the web for the most amazing fall/winter 2013/2014 shoes I could find in colors as close to Radiant Orchid as possible, and assembled them into this article. I hope you love them!

One of my personal weaknesses is my love for jewelry. I am drawn to handmade jewelry by artistic designers. One of the things I look for in my jewelry is a sense of freedom and playfulness. I also demand quality; and love to wear something which is unique. When I met Teece Torre through Twitter, I fell in love. All of the designs are handmade with semi-precious stones and the bracelets are made to order in your wrist size! Love that!

Being that purple is one of my favorite colors, I was instantly to drawn to several purple hued bracelets on Teece Torre’s website; including this one, and this one. I settled on the beautiful “La Notte“ bracelet which features iolite, citrine and aquamarine. I loved the richness of the gemstones set against the gold clasp and beads. The bracelet has an amazing color which appears very purple when set against other purple shades, black, brown or red. When against shades of blue, green or yellow, the bracelet takes on a bluish-purple hue which makes you squint to try and determine if you are looking at purple or blue! I love that!

Color of 2014: Radiant Orchid

Pantone announced today that Radiant Orchid is the new color of the year for 2014! Bye-bye Emerald, there is a new hue in town!

It is not surprising that a sweet shade of purple would be the color of 2014. The spring 2014 runways in New York showed us a plethora of blue and purple shades. The blues and purples were in varying hues ranging from pastel to almost bright, yet vivid shades. Radiant Orchid is the perfect shade of purple since it borders lavender yet retains the richness of a soft purple. Love it!

The color of 2014, Radiant Orchid, will play well with almost any shade of blue; as well as blend with other purple or lavender hues. This is definitely a beautiful color to invest in for 2014 as it offers a fresh place on the color wheel after a couple of years of bright and neon colors.
