Since Pantone announced the color of 2014, Radiant Orchid, in early December 2013, Fashionistas everywhere have been flocking to stores and shopping websites in search of the coveted “IT” color for the new year. One of the easy ways to incorporate this vivid hue is with cosmetics; specifically lipstick!

Pantone teams up every year with Sephora to create a make-up collection which reflects the color of the year. This year, Radiant Orchid, is an easy hue to turn into cosmetics since it is naturally a color found in make-up on a daily basis! Due to this fact, the lipstick has flown off the shelves and is next to impossible to find! Thankfully there are several other lipsticks on the market which are similar to the coveted color of 2014, Radiant Orchid.

I found a few alternatives to Sephora + Pantone’s Radiant Orchid lipstick and assembled them into this article. Some of the colors have a little more pink than Radiant Orchid while others offer more of a purple tinge. I hope you love them as much as I do! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Trend of the moment: Pale handbags

Pale hued handbags, in the form of pale beige, pale pink and white, are du rigueur. This handbag trend started to become popular on the street for fall 2013; although it was spotted on the runways as early as spring 2013. As we move into winter 2014, resort 2014 and spring 2014, the pale handbag is proving to be one of the most important hand trends of the moment.

On the runways, and spotted all over the streets, the pale handbag is the current “IT” colored handbag. The more pale beige or pale pink a handbag is, the better! For fall and winter we are seeing the pale handbag in the form of medium to micro-mini satchels. As we move into spring 2014, and satchels fade back into the “classic” category, pale handbags will be more prominent in shoulder bag, clutch and hobo styles.

The pale handbag is proving to also be an easy neutral color to wear as color trends change from bright and neon in 2013 to vivid and pastel in 2014. Pale handbags seem to be able to handle the transition and work with all type of color palettes. They also play well with 2013’s and 2014’s prints! Love that!

As we move towards winter 2014 spring 2014, unless you already own a pale satchel, it would be wise to invest in a pale shoulder bag, cross body bag, clutch, drawstring bag or hobo at the current moment. Shoulder bags and drawstring bags will be the “IT” styles for 2014; although drawstring bags are being shown more in black, white, navy and red so far; not too many in shades of pale beige and pink.

I found a few fabulous pale handbags around the web which can easily take you from winter 2014 to spring 2014. These beautiful bags are in the shopping widget below. Hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Chanel Rose Moire nail polish fall 2013 review

Chanel Rose Moire nail polish is a late fall 2013, limited edition color release from Chanel. This beautiful nail polish is a sweet, shiny ballerina pink which is perfect for transitioning from fall into winter. Chanel Rose Moire nail polish is also a fabulous color to be worn as an alternative to classic “nude.”

Chanel Rose Moire nail polish for fall 2013 is a pretty pink which blends well with autumnal hues such as burgundy, dark green, navy, black and neutral shades. The classic pink hue does not compete with fall 2013’s prints, patterns or textures. Rose Moire by Chanel is understated and blends into the background; making it the perfect color for someone who is enjoys wearing a different color palette and/or print each and every autumn day.

As we move into winter 2014, Chanel Rose Moire nail polish will blend easily with winter’s cooler color palette. Candy colors, pastels and holiday reds are on the horizon for the winter 2014 season; as well as sparkling and metallic hues. Rose Moire by Chanel’s pastel pink nature makes the hue easy to wear with all of winter 2014’s colors; in fact, Rose Moire will also work with resort 2014! Love that!

Resort 2014 will feature a combination of soft pastels and bright colors including cobalt, orange and yellow. Rose Moire by Chanel will easily blend with all of these shades. Since Chanel Rose Moire is a classic nail polish color, it will be easy to wear as we move from 2013 into 2014. This is also a beautiful nail polish color to keep on hand as a classic hue for occasions and times when you may not feel like being trendy.

I tested Chanel Rose Moire with one base coat and two coats of color. The nail polish lasted six days before chipping. When it began to chip, it chipped quickly and needed to be repainted. The polish may have lasted longer with a top coat.

Chanel Rose Moire nail polish is limited edition and priced at $27. You can find Chanel Rose Moire nail polish online here.
