Kendra Scott spring 2017 collection launch party

Wearing: Kendra Scott earrings / YSL lipstick / Gap long sleeve tee / coat c/o Thacker NYC (stay tuned-wearing this at NYFW!) / Gap jeans / Mansur Gavriel bag / YSL nail polish / Gucci shoes

Last week, I was thrilled to attend Kendra Scott’s spring 2017 collection launch party at her Santana Row shop. In addition to launching her new spring collection, Kendra Scott also donated 20% of her proceeds from the event to local charity YWCA Silicon Valley. Love!

The event was really fun, and I had a chance to hang out with two other local bloggers who are super fun to chat with; Dawn from Fashion Should Be Fun, and Cheryl from Oh To Be A Muse. They both have fabulous style, be sure you are following them too!

Kendra Scott’s spring 2017 collection included pieces which will be easy to wear with the spring 2017 color palette. There is turquoise, blue, rose gold, crackle brown pearl, and ivory pearl set in antique silver. The collection is so amazing! This is my favorite piece from the collection.

This necklace is definitely on my spring wish list! I also have my eyes on this beautiful cuff. Not sure which color I want! They are all so pretty! Here are a few of my favorites from Kendra Scott’s spring collection:

While I was at the party, I did indulge in purchasing two rings from the spring collection. I knew I needed rings to wear right now, so they are perfect for winter into spring transition style. I purchased this ring in crackle brown pearl and crackle blue agate.

Of course, sometimes you picture the perfect piece and it does not exist! Well, I did get a chance to play around at the event on the Color Bar. The Color Bar is fabulous because you can pick the design, the metal color, and the stone color yourself. They will create your design right there in front of your eyes, and you get to take it home with you that day! I designed the Alex earrings in silver and blue. They are so pretty! You can learn more about the Color Bar online here.

Since the weather has been cool yet sunny, I was able to wear this beautiful suede coat by Thacker NYC to the event. The coat is actually part of an outfit I have planned for NYFW, but it is so beautiful, and versatile, I felt compelled to wear it early. This coat is a great capsule wardrobe piece. It can be worn during fall, winter, and spring. The coat can be worn dressy or casual. I am going to have fun showing you different ways to wear this coat; so stay tuned!

You can learn more about Thacker NYC online here. If you are looking for the perfect jewelry pieces to wear now into spring, the Kendra Scott spring 2017 collection will have what you are looking for! Be sure to check out Kendra Scott’s spring 2017 collection online here.

Denim on denim spring 2017

Wearing: Kendra Scott earrings / lipstick c/o L’Oreal / Topshop denim top / Chloe bag / Christian Louboutin nail polish / Gap jeans (sold out, similar pair here) / Valentino pumps

One of the big trends off the New York Fashion Week runways is denim. Denim for spring 2017 is a hot trend this year. We are seeing denim in dark, medium, and light washes. The American fabric, originally inspired from sailcloth made in Genoa, Italy, is being found on every type of clothing and accessory piece you can think of for spring 2017. This is the fabric of the season!

Since I am already a huge denim fan, I have had my eyes wide open when shopping for spring 2017. When I spotted this top by TopShop, I knew it had to be mine! I love the funky buckle details, and shirred hemlines. It is a classic top, reminiscent of 1960s silhouettes. This makes it modest yet eye-catching. Love that!

I love how it looks when I wear it with black skinny jeans. As the weather gets warmer, it will be cute to pair it with a pencil skirt.

What are your thoughts on the denim trend for spring 2017?

How to style a spring skirt in the winter

how to rewear spring clothing in the winterhow to style a spring skirt in the wintergivenchy antigona small black sugarwinter into spring outfit idea winter pastels

Wearing: Kendra Scott earrings / Laura Mercier lipstick / Banana Republic sweater (on sale!!) / long sleeve tee-on sale! (layered under sweater)  / Givenchy handbag / Topshop pleated skirt (I’m wearing petite) / Christian Louboutin nail polish / Bottega Veneta booties / socks hidden in booties

Wondering how to style a spring skirt in the winter months? This is something I find myself doing often. I love spring and summer clothing, so I tend to purchase more clothing during the warm weather seasons then I do during the winter. My two weaknesses during the winter are coats, and jackets! So I find myself reaching for spring or summer items in my closet, and restyling them for the cold winter weather.

I will say this, the San Francisco Bay Area is more mild in the winter months compared to other parts of the country. That being said, our temperatures do go down into the 30’s and 40’s sometimes, so I need to strategically style spring and summer clothing for the winter.

This outfit I have featured in this post I wore to church a couple of weeks ago, and then out to lunch with my family. It is a spring skirt, winter sweater, fall booties, and accessories which transcend seasons. In order to stay warm in the high 40 degree weather, I layered a long sleeve tee underneath the sweater, and I am wearing ankle socks, you cannot see, inside my booties. It worked like a charm!

If temperatures were cooler than they were that day, this outfit could easily be worn with knee or thigh-high boots, thicker socks, and a coat. I think a navy coat such as this one on sale, would be fabulous! Also, if you top it off with this beanie, it would look NYFW, street-style ready. Love!
