Let’s face it, I’m a sucker for anything with sparkles. When I spotted this sequin sweater, I knew I needed it for the holiday season! The sequins are festive, and the sweater is soft. Together, they create a festive yet comfy sweater to wear during the day, or evening, throughout the holiday season!

It’s cold outside, don’t try to play like it isn’t. I will never understand how some women can think nothing of wearing a sleeveless dress and strappy shoes with their bare toes exposed to the thirty degree weather. Not even in my college days did I wear clothing for looks rather than function. I don’t like being cold. So, if you don’t mind bearing it all when temperatures fall below freezing; power to you. I, on the other hand, will be cozy and warm and in my sequin sweater.

This sweater is perfect for Christmas day, New Year’s day, New Year’s eve, and any cold wintery day! Nothing brightens up a cold day like sequins. They catch the light and sparkle; making any dark day shine. Love that! It can be paired with jeans for a casual look, like I am wearing, or paired with a skirt for a dressier, evening look. This sweater can do it all!

First, I would like to apologize for the quality of these photos. We tried taking pictures inside, after the sun went down, but alas, the artificial light was not our friend. I don’t have fancy camera equipment, so my daughter did her best with our basic dslr camera. I hope you can still see the outfit well enough, in case you are interested in putting together a casual holiday party outfit this season!

I wore this outfit last week to our Jr. League sustainer holiday party. The party was originally going to be held at a member’s home, but unfortunately that fell through. Thankfully our fabulous party planners found an alternate space at Justin’s restaurant in Santa Clara. The decorations were so pretty! You can see one of the beautiful wreaths they had on the walls inside in the photo above.

This is an annual party which is always festive, yet casual. It’s so much fun to be able to socialize with ladies who are active in the community both through volunteerism and fundraising. So many of these women are an inspiration. I am always overjoyed yet humbled in their presence. I wish I had pictures to share, but I was too busy having fun to snap photos. I have to admit, I was quite sad when the evening came to an end. Some of these women I only see once a year at this annual party, so it’s always sad to know it might another year before I see them again.

My casual holiday party outfit worked out perfectly. The boots were comfortable enough for standing and socializing, while the comfortable velvet pants made the night effortless. All black with a pop of sparkle is always a good go-to look for the holidays; and evening looks in general throughout the year!

I am a sucker for  a faux fur coat! When I spotted this grey faux fur coat, I knew I needed to add it to my coat collection. It’s ultra soft, and super cozy! When the weather cools down, I gravitate towards anything soft, cozy, and warm! Love!

Grey is such an easy color to wear; it’s the perfect alternate to black when black feels a bit too dark and heavy. I’m looking forward to wearing this coat throughout the winter, and in February at fashion week in New York! This coat will be fun to wear throughout the winter season. It will pair well over dresses, with jeans, and with holiday attire; it’s quite versatile!

My daughter took these photos over the weekend when it was cold and foggy outside. This coat was perfect to cut the chill, and keep me warm! We stopped in at 85C in Cupertino and enjoyed sweet breads before heading out to run errands. Have you tried 85C? They have such yummy sweet and savory baked breads and pastries. I love stopping in there, and enjoying a treat! If you have a location near you, I highly recommend stopping in, you will love it!
