OK, so if you know me, or follow my insta-stories, you may have heard me talk about being a huge Real Housewives fan. Well. . .while I was putting outfits together for New York Fashion Week, I watched an episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Marlo and Nene went shopping with Eva for a wedding dress. Marlo, who has an enviable closet and great style, was wearing a black Balmain logo tee and she looked chic as ever. While logo handbags are played out, logo tee’s and clothing are still having a moment. So I decided to purchase a black Balmain tee and create an outfit around it for fashion week! Does that make me a superfan? haha

I wore my new Balmain tee with military green pants, my new Chloe boots-which are on major sale by the way, and this cozy Calvin Klein coat. It was an urban street style look which was quiet yet New York Fashion Week worthy. This is a look I will continue to wear at home too until our spring weather arrives. It’s cold in California this year! Brrrrrr! When spring hits, I will show you this tee again, and the pants, styled separately for spring. They will be spring staples in my closet!

My friend Laura from Have-Need-Want took these photos outside our hotel before we began our day of shows. Day one of New York Fashion Week was a fun day. I attended Noon by Noor, Laurence & Chico, and Badgley Mischka. Stay tuned for photos from those shows! You can see the final walks saved in my Instagram Story Highlights. They are saved in the highlight with Anna Wintor’s face as the cover photo. Trying to have a little chic fashion humor on there. haha

Packed for New York Fashion Week fall 2019

from top left: black street sneakers / brown train case / black boots / black pouch handbag / PVC mini tote / Gucci lady bag /

I’m actually heading to New York for fashion week today! Yay! It seems surreal after last September, when I had to cancel my trip last minute due to a medical emergency. I am so thankful to be healthy right now, and to be able to go to New York for fashion week! This isn’t just a work trip, it feels like a miracle!

Although we are still in winter 2019, and spring 2019 is hitting store shelves, I will be viewing the fall/winter 2019/2020 collections. It seems a bit crazy right?! It should be interesting to see which trends from this season will continue into next year. It is always fun to get a sneak peek and share it with you!

If you would like to see what is going on during fashion week, be sure to join me on Instagram. I will be sharing everything real-time via Instagram Stories.

What’s in my NYFW suitcase:

What’s in my NYFW beauty bag:

I will be attending some fun shows this season such as Noon by Noor, Badgley Mischka, Custo Barcelona, Chiara Boni, and more! Coverage of all the shows will hit the blog next week, in the meantime, you can see everything real-time via my Instagram.

Pardon My French

Wearing: spring navy and white earrings / lipstick / blue scarf / pink coat  / “Pardon My French” tee / pale blue handbag / yellow spring nail polish / charcoal trouser jeans / black boots (old, also love this pair)

A-hem, pardon my French, but don’t wear pink and purple together. Well, you can if you want too, but I can’t; I just can’t do it.

You might be wondering, why not? They look great together! Well, when I was in 3rd and 4th grade that was all I ever wore. My whole life was pink and purple together. I originally woke up on day four of New York Fashion Week and planned to wear a purple scarf with my pink coat, but when I looked in the mirror, I had to say no. I just couldn’t do it. I looked like a seven-year-old. So, I replaced the purple scarf with the blue scarf and voila! I look like an adult! Yay for being an adult!

The blue scarf with the pink coat proved to be a good last-minute switch. I got stopped by a few photographers while attending shows, and kept receiving compliments all day. It was quite the ego boost! I need to wear pink and blue together more often! Too bad it is the end of the season, and I am running out of coat weather! <sigh>

My outfit under the coat was pretty simple. I wore my favorite trouser jeans with a casual “Pardon My French” tee and paired the look with my go-to black boots. It was really comfortable, and easy to wear. This tee is so much fun, and it will carry me through the rest of winter, into spring, and of course through summer! Love that!

Do you have any color combos you can’t wear as an adult because you wore them to death as a child?
