How cute is this outfit!? OK, that wasn’t very modest of me, but I am so excited to tell you about it, I couldn’t help myself! I got this entire outfit, plus the Calvin Klein carry-on suitcase, for under $200. Can you believe it!

So, you might be wondering how I did that?! Well, let me tell you, Macy’s has a fabulous new concept which helped me keep my bill under $200. There were so many fabulous on-trend outfits for spring. It was really hard for me to only come home with just one! I am so thrilled to have stayed waaaaaaay under budget, and come home with a complete outfit, perfect for spring or a vacation; and a suitcase! My outfit includes shoes, a handbag, the dress, a necklace, a fabulous pair of earrings, and three bracelets!

I tried on several outfits, it was hard to choose just one! Here are a few shots from the dressing room:

How cute are those skinny jeans with pearls down the side! The polka dot skirt is haunting me, I might have to go back and get these items! Since I love the new Macy’s Backstage store-within-a-store, I have partnered with Macy’s to give away a $100 gift certificate; so you can check out Macy’s Backstage, and fall in love with it, too!

National Wear Red Day | Go Red for Women

Happy National Wear Red Day! This is an incredible movement to help raise awareness in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Go Red for Women is a campaign by The American Heart Association, and it is sponsored by Macy’s. The campaign calls attention to the fact that cardiovascular disease is so prevalent among women; yet many don’t know it. A woman dies every 80 seconds from heart-related illnesses, yet 80 percent of those deaths are preventable. The American Heart Association’s mission is to reduce deaths, and disabilities, from cardiovascular diseases with education and research that benefits everyone.

I hope you will join me in the fight against heart disease and stroke by wearing red today, and hopefully purchasing a red dress awareness pin from a Macy’s store. The pins are shaped like a red dress, and cost only $3. They are sold in pairs, so for $3, you have a pin for yourself, and one for your BFF! Love that!

This dress I am wearing is also part of the Wear Red campaign and can be found online or at a Macy’s store. It’s a classic and fabulous dress which can be worn every year on National Wear Red Day as well as on Valentine’s Day; or anytime you want to wear a va-va-voom dress! Loving it!

Levi’s celebrates 140 years of the 501 jean at Macy’s Union Square

Levi’s held their 140th anniversary celebration at Macy’s Union Square in San Francisco on May 20, 2013 at 6pm. This exciting event attracted a large crowd filled with Levi’s fans, shoppers, bloggers, media and tourists. There was a live presentation with priceless artifacts from Levi’s museum. The oldest pair of jeans in Levi’s archives, which are pictured in the sixth photo from the top as well as on the right of the above photo, are circa 1879. The pair on the left in the above photo, were found in the Calico Mines and are dated from the 1890’s.

Levi’s Historian Lynn Downey took guests through the Levi Strauss story with amazing pieces of history including the changing use of the rivet over time. In addition to several historical pairs of 501 jeans, Lynn Downey shared marketing material which included a Jefferson Airplane radio commercial. The commercial was a song titled “White Jeans” and sounded quite similar to their smash hit “White Rabbit.” How fitting to have a San Francisco band singing for a San Francisco company! Love that!

Levi’s is taking their iconic 501 jeans into new territory this year as they are planning to roll out a new twill version of the popular pant style. Can’t wait!

Here’s to 140 more years of the fabulous 501 jean!
