Last Saturday night was so much fun! My friend Dawn from Fashion Should Be Fun invited me to attend the Mimi Tran fashion show with her at Santana Row. I am so happy she did! It was a blast sitting front row with her and seeing Mimi Tran’s latest collection take the catwalk.

I decided to wear my new black and white scarf dress which I bought when I was in Florida visiting the first Chico’s store on Sanibel Island. My original plan was to belt the dress, but the belt wouldn’t stay put, so I took it off and wore the dress sans obi belt; and I loved it! The hemline is so much fun, and the dress construction is really comfortable. This was a no-fuss outfit which is exactly what you want to wear when it’s time to have fun!!

Although summer is still in full swing, I am craving the fall season. The recent evening and morning fog have me feeling fall; and I had my first pumpkin pie latte at a local coffee shop. So, let’s just say I am trying to make fall happen. 😉

This fall dress is easy to wear right now, as long as the temperatures stay under 80 like we have had recently. When the weather cools down, I plan on wearing this dress casually with a moto jacket and western style booties. It will be a great daytime dress! The dress can also be glammed up with a necklace and sparkling earrings. Did you hear crystal chandelier earrings for daytime are coming back? Oh, I need to dig out my old pairs and start wearing them! But I digress. . .

Easy breezy summer dress

There’s nothing like a fun, flowing dress for the summer! I picked up this fun little number at the ModCloth FitShop in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. I love the two tiered ruffle back with tie, and the flowing silhouette of the dress. It adds so much interest to the dress!

If I had a wedding to attend, this would be a great wedding guest outfit or dress for a wedding guest. At the moment, I am just wearing it and being overdressed for my daily activities. haha, I walked into the Starbucks attached to my gym like this. I was the only person inside not dressed in workout clothing! Thankfully, I didn’t get any side-eye for being overdressed. haha

The dress has a tie at the top of the back which helps secure the dress properly. There is also a tie at the waist so you can tie it in a comfortable spot. This is a comfortable, great fitting dress. It also comes in plus sizes!!

Side note about my shoes: The black version of my pumps can be found 40% off online here. They are SO comfortable!! I can walk for days in them. I also own a red version in the low heel style.

Do you ever buy a dress because you love it, yet have no occasion to wear it to? I did with this dress! Now, could someone please invite me to a wedding so I can wear this as my wedding guest outfit? Thank you!

Summer go-to sundress

pictured: dangle hoop earrings / lipstick / black print sundress (under $25!!) / black leather and rose gold watch / Chanel summer nail polish / Chloe bag / black wedge espadrilles (priced under $100 and so comfy!)

So before we start, I would like to apologize for the eye sore that is my arm. Apparently I don’t know how to properly apply sunscreen, and as a result, I have been blessed with a farmers tan on my arms. Please, don’t laugh too hard. Well, OK, go ahead; it is pretty funny!

Now that summer vacation has started, my fabulous friend Dawn from FashionShouldBeFun.com met me for lunch and some strolling on Santana Row. We found a fabulous wall, which was recently repainted, and snapped some photos before embarking on eating and shopping. Isn’t this new wall cool! I love the artwork. This door used to be black, so now that it is full of color, it really looks amazing; although less Mediterranean then it did before.

After we snapped some pictures, we enjoyed lunch at the sort-of new EMC Seafood Bar which is located near the fountain at Santana Row. It is SO GOOD! We loved the sushi, and I have to tell you, the clam chowder was fab-u-lous! Love!

We popped into LOFT and saw so many cute summer outfits; I need to go back when I have more time and try some things on. We also checked out all the cute suits at Everything But Water. They have a whole wall of blue suits! It is truly swimsuit heaven. There were also several fabulous summer essentials at Arizia and Baldwin; I need to go back to those shops too! So many cute summer items!!

This sundress was perfect for a day on the Row, can you believe it is under $25! It is really comfortable; and perfect for temperatures over 80. To make the dress look even better, I just need to even out my horrendous tan lines. Yikes!!
