After a couple of months of really cold weather, and much-needed rain, the weather has taken a turn! All of a sudden, during the daylight hours, it feels like spring! I have to admit, this spring-like weather pattern is bittersweet. It feels nice to have warm weather in the 60’s and low 70’s after being cold for a few weeks, but at the same time, we need rain! Our drought here in California is not over, so, hopefully this warm-up is temporary and we go back to winter! Rain please!

‘The upside to warm weather is getting to wear this super cute, casual tee I recently bought at the Gap! I hope to wear it with jeans and shorts this spring and summer. I love the boxy silhouette. I feel like it makes the tee a little less ordinary; yet still casual for everyday wear.

Have you started shopping for spring yet? What have you picked up?

Platform wedges return for spring 2015

The platform wedge is making a comeback for the spring 2015 season. Just when we thought platform shoes were fading into obscurity, lug soles raised the bottoms of shoes and now the platform wedge has dared to return! What is going on?! Obviously the shoe world is confused. 😉

Consumers have not completely abandoned platforms; despite the fact that they faded out of fashion two years ago. Due to this fact called consumer demand, designers and brands have quietly shipped platform wedges to stores for the spring season.

Although scarce on the runways, platform wedges are being spotted on store shelves for the spring season in droves. Almost every designer and brand has produced at least one platform wedge style for the spring season. Platform wedges are being spotted in various styles from flatform to styles with a 4″ pitch. There is something for everyone when it comes to platform wedges this spring 2015 season.

Platform wedges are also being shown in every color of the season; as well as neutral and black tones.Designers have opted to design platform wedges for casual dress this spring season. To make the style casual, spring 2015’s platform wedges are being shown with cork, nautical rope and wood soles. This makes the style easy to pair with breezy pants, flowing cotton skirts, jeans and shorts. It is the “IT” weekend and casual shoe for spring 2015. Love it!

What do you think of the return of the platform wedge for the spring 2015 season? Are you ready to rock a pair of platforms again? Or, is it too soon to go sky-high?

If you saved your platform wedges from 2010-2012, you can easily shop your closet this spring season and save your shoe budget for other styles. If you already donated those platform wedges, or you just want new shoes (doesn’t everyone?!), then here are a few of my favorite spring styles from around the web: happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Getting back into boot cut

The past several years have been all about skinny jeans, but as we move into 2015, boot cut and flare jeans are gaining momentum. This means the formally “so three years ago” style is acceptable again; and may soon take over the number one denim style spot from the skinnies!

Since boot cut and flare jeans are making a comeback, I thought I would wear this pair of boot cut jeans to get myself back into the silhouette. Although I feel like skinny jeans make me look thinner, the boot cut jean is more comfortable. I also like the 1970’s retro vibe of boot cut jeans.

I am not ready to ditch my skinnies, they really do take about ten pounds off my 5’4″ frame, but a little bit of comfort and vintage flair mixed in never hurt anyone 😉 After all, I am a little bored of my skinnies, despite their slimming properties. What do you think of boot cut or flare jeans? Are you ready to rock the style or do you want to stick with your skinnies?
