Over the weekend, my husband and I took the kids to the de Young Museum in San Francisco. We have taken them to the Children’s Discovery Museum, The Tech Museum, and the Legion of Honor; but this was our first trip to the fabulous de Young! It was nice to take the kids to the de Young since both my husband and I remember our own parents taking us to de Young Museum when we were kids. We love being able to pass the experience on to our kids.

My kids favorite art pieces inside the museum included the early American silver service, the early American chairs, any painting with kids in it, the civil war era fireplace, the observation tower, and Keith Haring’s “untitled (three figures dancing)” which was located outside the building. Of course, they also loved the cookies in the cafe, and the books in the gift shop!

The pictures I took, shown above, were taken from both the ground, and the observation tower inside the de Young Museum. How amazing is the living roof atop the California Academy of Sciences!!

Flip flops are a mainstay in everyone’s closet during the summer season. Flip flops are great during the summer because they are easy to slip on and off, they are casual, and they are ideal poolside shoes.

There are so many fabulous styles of flip flops for the summer 2015 season. We are seeing boho-chic inspired flip flops, playful beach-vacation inspired flip flops, 1970’s inspired flip flops, and traditional rubber flip flops in both solid colors and patterns. There is definitely a flip flop for every occasion in summer 2015!

I love a breezy skirt for warm, summer days. Since June is here, I have trying to wear my summer wardrobe, despite the fog. When I bought this skirt, I needed to wear it ASAP! This skirt not only offers lightweight fabric, and a breezy silhouette, it has a pretty, eyelet design around the scarf-like hem. Love that!

The fog the past couple of weeks has been unreal. To combat the cold, I have been topping off my summer wardrobe with this denim jacket. It is a must-have in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have always owned a denim jacket; ever since I was in middle school! Denim is the right weight for foggy days in the spring, summer, and fall. I really think it would be difficult to live without a denim jacket! There is no viable alternative for casual, cool, foggy days.
