Cozy casual for the holidays

wearing: bold silver earrings / Bobbi Brown lipstick “Lilac” / blanket scarf (similar online here for under $10) / black long sleeve tee (similar online here) / red cashmere cardigan sweater (on major sale!-comes in many colors!) / skinny jeans (on major sale!) / Chloe bag / Chanel winter nail polish / charcoal suede boots (so comfy!)

December is the season to wear red! I feel like my wardrobe this year is comprised of grey and black. So when I spotted this cozy cardigan on major sale, I had to snap one up in red!

This cardigan is so soft and cozy. It is perfect to wear right now as a casual holiday look. I plan on wearing it Christmas day too. This cardigan is a fabulous grab and go sweater as well, love that!

This is such a busy time of year. My oldest daughter is getting ready for her semester finals, and my younger two children are wrapping up their semester with projects and tests. I’m heading into busy season with one of my volunteer jobs, and I am hosting Christmas this year! I wish we had a little bit more time before Christmas. It is coming so fast!

Are you busy this holiday season? How are you managing your time?

If you are hosting an event this holiday season, and need a fun, non-alcoholic drink idea, check out my Harry Potter inspired Butterbeer recipe.

My two youngest children took these photos. I think they did a pretty good job!

Holiday casual bell sleeves and jeans

pictured: silver ball stud earrings / Bobbi Brown lipstick “lilac” / blue bead necklace c/o BaubleBar / sparkling black bell sleeves sweater (on major sale and in more colors!!) / black Givenchy bag / bold silver ring / skinny jeans (on major sale!!) / Dior holiday nail polish (full review here) / silver boots (in light gold here, and in silver with shorter heel here)

Sparkles, sparkles and more sparkles! I love wearing sparkles during the holiday season. This black, bell sleeve sweater has tiny silver sparkles sewn into the knit, making it a festive way to feel the holiday spirit in a casual ensemble; love that!

As the temperatures rise to 60 degrees on some days during the winter months, a thinner knit sweater is more comfortable then a heavy coat. This sweater is great on moderate winter days; and the sparkling knit makes it great to wear to daytime holiday events, as well as casual evening house parties.

I wore this outfit the other day when I was out Christmas shopping with my kids. We walked all over the place, and it was so comfortable!

My two younger kids snapped these photos while we were shopping, they did a pretty good job!! My middle child is taking photography classes. I am so excited that she loves taking pictures (think free blog photographer!).  She is really artistic, and wants to be an artist when she grows up. She seems to have a lot of artistic interests. When she grows up, she would like to be a painter, a cartoon maker (think Pixar!), a fashion designer, and a photographer. I can’t wait to see what she grows into! My son wants to be an astronaut, and the first man on Mars! I’m certain he will get there! My teenager changes her mind daily; so I’ll keep you posted! haha I’m sure she will decide on something fabulous!

Well, I seem to have gone off track from my outfit, haha. If you have kids, what are they planning to be when they grow up?

If you are looking for a great winter sweater, check out my bell sleeves sweater; it’s on sale!!

Perfect poncho for a Bay Area winter

how dress in bay area winter jw anderson bag combat bootsbay area street style combat boot trend winter 2017poncho bay area winter

wearing: bold rose gold-tone circle earrings / Bobbi Brown lipstick “Lilac” / pale pink long sleeve tee (comes in several colors-so comfy!) / black knit poncho (also comes in grey) / bold rose gold cuff (on major sale!) / red JW Anderson bag / jeans (on major sale!) / Dior holiday nail polish / charcoal suede combat boots (so comfy!)

Despite the fact that temperatures have fallen to the forties at night, the daytime highs can hover anywhere between fifty, and seventy degrees, during the Bay Area winters. A winter poncho is a Bay Area girl’s best friend when temperatures fluctuate like this during the day. I love that I found one for this winter season!

This poncho is great for daytime temperatures. In the early morning, or at night, I can add a scarf or blanket scarf to make it more cozy. This poncho is my current go-to, cold casual day, outfit “enhancer!” haha, I am going to call it an “Outfit Enhancer” because I believe a poncho can elevate an everyday tee shirt and jeans look to something on-trend.

Yes. . .it is entirely possible “Outfit Enhancer” was inspired by Spongebob’s “Sentence Enhancer” episode. haha I watch too much TV with my kids!

Speaking of TV, what shows have you been into lately? I just watched WAGS LA on demand last week, and now I am hooked! I got through the first two seasons, now I need to catch up on the current season. I am also hooked on all the Real Housewives shows, and Southern Charm. Do you have any shows you have been hooked on lately?

But I digress. . .what types of “Outfit Enhancers” do you like to use to amp up your everyday, casual looks?

Thanks for stopping by!
