Spring is here! This means we all need to make sure we have the hottest handbags front and center in our closets. Luckily, a lot of the spring 2022 handbag trends might already be in our closets, and we just need to move them forward. Love that!

There are five hot spring 2022 handbag trends to covet this warm weather season, and hopefully you already own a handbag in at least one category. So, without further ado, here are the five hottest handbag trends for the spring 2022 season.

The Small Square Tote: Small, square totes are hotter than hot this season. They offer a square silhouette, small size, and often will be found with an alternate cross body strap to make day-to-day life easy. You can snap an investment version from Dior, or you can find a more affordable version from Coach. Either way, you will look fabulous.
The Small Top Handle Bag: Thankfully you don’t have to go micro-mini or nano in this trend, unless you really want to. You can rock the small top handle bag trend, or Lady Bag trend, with a small bag which still fits your wallet and phone. These handbags also tend to come with a cross body strap, making them easy to wear everyday. Love!
The Hobo Bag: This trend started last year, and it is continuing into 2022. You can rock it with a structured version, or a soft version. There are also moon shaped bags and shoulder bags which offer a hobo look. If you haven’t already found your hobo bag for 2022, there is one out there for you.
The Bucket Bag: This trend was hot a few years ago, and it’s back! You can go with a traditional cinch bucket such as the classic one pictured above, or one fashioned after a flower pot silhouette, or cylinder. You will find a lot of versions of the bucket on store shelves. Pick the one that speaks to you. Or, you can be like me and stick with the classic that has been hot since 2014. Your choice.
The Pouch: Lastly, let’s talk about the pouch. This handbag style has been popular for a few years now. I own a few in different sizes as well as one with a funky chain strap. This is a great style to wear casual or dressy. If you own a pouch, keep rocking it! If you have been eyeing this trend for awhile, snap one up now.

Power suit spring 2022

The power suit is back, and it’s the most versatile set you can own. A classic blazer and a classic pair of trousers can turn into multiple outfits and take you through an entire week in the office, or an entire week of lunch, dinner, shopping excursions, the theater, and more! This is the best trend to reemerge from the last century, and I am here for it!

Of course, the power suit can be worn alone and evokes a sense of self-confidence, chic-ness, and power. In addition, the blazer and trousers and can easily be paired with other items in your closet, making multiple outfits for the season. If you can only buy two items for spring, buy a power suit!

Let’s start with the blazer. It can be worn with jeans, a denim skirt, shorts (huge trend for summer-more on that later), and a prairie skirt for a structured vs. unstructured look, which will also be hot later this year. The blazer can also be worn over a dress. It’s a great way to instantly update an entire closet. Bright colors are on trend for spring 2022, but if a bright suit isn’t your thing, look for classic black; you can never go wrong with black.

The trousers are so amazing! You can dress down trousers with a top and street sneakers, or pair them with heels and satin top for a night on the town. Looking for a daytime look? Try a blouse, puff sleeve tee, or satin top with trousers and flats, you will look chic and sophisticated. Love that!

Do you work in a conservative office environment? You may already own a classic black suit, why not add one fun and colorful suit for the year?! Bright blue, orange, yellow, and green are the hottest hues in suiting this spring 2022 season. Orange is actually the trendiest color if you want to be cutting edge. I chose blue because, well, I love blue!

Casual Friday outfits can benefit from your power suit too! I am not a fan of jeans on casual Friday, I think they are too casual. A pair of trousers with a nice blouse, slim sweater, or top is an ideal casual Friday look. If it’s chilly, you can add a tweed blazer or tweed jacket to finish off the look.

Simple necklines are hot for spring 2022. When accessorizing your power suit for spring 2022, keep your neckline simple. I have a hard time with that, so I like to add a vintage scarf or a necklace with a pendant. It’s still simple but adds a little somethin’ somethin’.

Colored denim trend spring 2022

Colored denim is back! Can you remember the last time there was a colored denim trend? I sure can’t! It seems like it’s been a few decades?! Well, this is one denim trend I am very excited about. It adds pops of fun color to our wardrobes. Stay tuned, there will be pastels and bright colors coming out in the next couple of months for us all to crave and add to our wardrobes. Love that!

Right now, the colored denim on store shelves is trending towards neutral hues such as beige, brown, military green, white (more of a staple than color), and bright pink. The bright pink is a clue that other colors are coming soon!

As you know, happy colors are in this year. So, you might already be stocking up on key wardrobe essentials in your favorite hues. Be sure to add colored denim to your shopping list, because any color is hot this year! You can rock neutral colors such as the pair I am wearing in this post, or fun colors such as green, pink, blue, yellow, and orange. Yes, orange! Orange is a HOT color this year! Get ready!

The colored denim trend transcends denim styles. This is good news because you can wear colored denim in the style of your choice. If wide leg jeans are your thing, there will be colors in wide leg! If you prefer classic cuts, skinny cuts, girlfriend cuts, or boyfriend cuts, there will be colors for you in those styles too! Love that!

I wore these classic cut, beige jeans to Santana Row last week and enjoyed lunch at EMC Seafood. They literally have the best clam chowder in the south bay. No joke. It’s amazing. If you have not tried it yet, you are missing out. Run, don’t walk, to EMC and grab a bowl of clam chowder!

Of course, I ate more than just clam chowder! haha. I split the fried zucchini and parmesan truffle fries with my mom, and also indulged in a sushi roll; with truffle on top! Yum!

These classic cut jeans were very comfortable, and the denim is soft to the touch. Love! I also plan on rocking the classic cut, boyfriend, and girlfriend cuts this year. The wide leg is OK on me, but I feel a little bit short to really do it justice. Also, flares are making a comeback, but I am not sure I am ready to rock this trend again. It still feels dated to me, but I am sure I will eat my words and start wearing it again soon. haha

Wondering which denim cuts are hot in 2022? Well, there are a lot! Look for classic cut, “mom” jeans, flares, wide leg, boyfriend, girlfriend, and the dreaded low rise. Yes, that’s correct. The low rise, is on the rise! Silhouette-wise, it’s not actually rising, unfortunately. It’s sitting low on the hips. Get ready. If you despise this rise, stock up on jeans now, before designers start going low, and flood store shelves with the dreaded low rise. Yikes!
