Marissa Webb showed her fall 2016 collection at the Skylight Clarkson on February 11, 2016 during New York Fashion Week. As always, her collection was amazing.

One of the best pieces on the runway were Marisaa Webb’s booties! The booties were innovative; featuring an inside layer peeking out from the outside layer of the booties. There was a small lace-up detail on the back of the booties, and the heels were thin, and fabulous. Love them! There was also an equally fabulous pair of knee high boots on the Marissa Webb fall 2016 runway. Look for both of these styles to fly off store shelves!

Marissa Webb used texture, patterns, and discreet florals throughout her collection. The main color story included navy, mustard, light grey, rose, and pumpkin. When paired with light grey, the traditional autumn color palette took on a fashion-forward vibe; making fall look new again.

Every season Marissa Webb reinvents the wheel; and gives the fashion world a fresh outlook on how to dress. I plan on getting my hands on a pair of booties, and the navy/white check coat pictured above. Which pieces are you coveting from the Marissa Webb fall 2016 runway collection?

You can view and shop Marissa Webb’s current collection online here.

Have you ever spotted a pair of shoes online, or in a store, and they spoke to you? When I first spotted these embroidered floral booties for spring online, I heard them call my name! They said: “Cathy, you need me in your life, buy me in black right now and you will have good fortune!”

Well. . .not really . . . but I placed them in my shopping cart, walked away for two days, couldn’t take it anymore, and clicked “checkout.” The rest is history! They arrived two days later, and it was love at first sight.

I always thought I was too conservative to wear embroidered floral booties for spring. I thought my style was more classic; staying on-trend through colors, and the way I put pieces together, rather than bold pieces which call out a specific year and season. But when I saw these booties, all of that flew out the window.

Whether or not these booties keep their cool factor in 2017, remains to be seen. As for spring 2016, it was worth every penny to experience their current cool factor. After all, they are perfect for transitioning from winter into spring, and they are comfortable too! Doesn’t that qualify as a practical purchase? I think so 😉

I am looking forward to pairing these embroidered floral booties for spring with leggings, skirts, and dresses, as the season progresses. They are definitely my obsession of the season!

This blouse from Banana Republic needs a shout-out too. I love the pale pink color, and the feminine flow of the blouse. Although I am wearing it on a casual day in the photos above, it looks better with a skirt, or trousers. I will definitely wear it with a skirt on a warmer day, and photograph it for the blog. I plan to wear it during New York Fashion Week later this month too!

Tie shoes for spring 2016

From top left: black heels (on my wish list!!) / mid heel sandal (under $100!) / fringe sandal (on my wish list too!) / nude flats (only $110! ) / black flat sandals (under $100!!) / black flats (I bought these last year and love them!!)

Tie up shoes for spring 2016 are hotter than hot. This fabulous, and flirty, trend has been going strong since last year; and it is showing no sign of slowing down for spring 2016. This might be the hottest shoe trend of the spring season!

Tie up flats, sandals, high heels, and lace up booties, have been on the radar since last year. As gladiator sandals slow down in the new year, other tie up styles are taking center stage. The most versatile tie up shoe you can find this spring 2016 season is the tie up flat. Above I show a designer pick, which I own from last year and love, and a similar pair for only $110. This tie up shoe style is perfect for wearing right now, and during the spring season, as well as into the summer season. It takes the place of the ballet flat; making it great for both casual and dressy outfits. Love that!

Many of the lace up, high heel styles, are incorporating the continuing fringe trend for spring 2016. Look for more shoes style like this to hit store shelves int he next few months. This style was spotted on the runway for spring 2016, my favorite runway version is here. I love the affordable version pictured above too.

Tie up shoes for spring 2016 are being shown in black, nude, shades of brown, and red! Of course there are other colors on the market, but these are the most popular, or common, colors you will see on store shelves right now. Personally I think a good black or neutral color is the way to go this season. It will work well with any outfit you put together.

What do you think of the tie up shoes trend for spring 2016? Will you be rocking it, or leaving it on the shelf?
