ModCloth has opened a new pop-up Fit Shop for a limited time in San Francisco at 222 Grant Avenue. This exciting concept allows shoppers to work one-on-one with a personal fit stylist who not only helps you find the perfect ensembles, she sets you up in a fitting room, assists you with sizes, and she can even measure you to find out your perfect fit! Love that!

Since ModCloth is an online retailer, the Fit Shop is a great way to try on their clothing before you buy something online. If you have never tried ModCoth before, this is a great way to acquaint yourself with their clothing, and see what your size would be in their apparel. This will enable you in the future to be able to shop on ModCloth.com easily! Now THAT is fabulous 😉

I have never shopped from ModCloth before, so when I was invited to check out the store, I was excited to see what they had to offer. As expected, the clothing has a vintage, feminine feel. I loved the vibe of the store, and the wide selection. My Fit Stylist Ashley, was amazing to work with. She was extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. I had my kids with me, and she was very patient with them too; which is fabulous!

Ashley set me up with a room filled with my selections. She also brought me a few extra items to help me create complete outfits. She read my taste like a book! She brought me a fabulous navy top, which I instantly fell in love with!

The concept of the store is to enable shoppers to work with a Fit Stylist who can assist you in finding looks from their online store. While the jewelry, vintage tee’s, and select vintage apparel is available for immediate purchase, everything in the store you try on is a sample. If you like what you try on, your Fit Stylist will order the items for you, and they will be delivered right to your doorstep. This is a nice touch when you are in downtown San Francisco. After all, no-one wants to carry shopping bags around downtown; especially if you have to take BART, Cal Train or Muni home! Can we say clumsy?!!

After visiting ModCloth’s Fit Shop, I now know my size; and I will be able to easily order from the website in the future. If you like ModCloth, or have never ordered from them before, a visit to the Fit Shop is a must!

The ModCloth Fit Shop will be located at 222 Grant Ave., San Francisco, CA, until August 17, 2015. To make an appointment, please call 1-844-FITSHOP or book online here.

My favorites from the ModCloth Fit Shop for fall:

Shoulder flap bags for fall 2015

The 1970’s are a huge inspiration for fall 2015. Designers took aspects from 1970’s style, and incorporated it into their fall and winter collections for 2015. One of those 1970’s trends is the flap shoulder bag, also known as the saddle bag.

Although considered a classic handbag style, the flap shoulder bag, or saddle bag, is also associated with 1970’s fashion, and reflects the overall silhouette of the time; and upcoming fall season. This timeless handbag style is moving to the forefront of handbag fashion, and it is joining forces with the hotter-than-hot bucket bag as the IT handbag style of the autumn season.

Flap shoulder bags, or saddle bags, are simple in design. They offer a flap closure which covers up a roomy interior. Some designers are putting compartments into their flap shoulder bags to help keep you organized. These compartments are a modern feature not found in 1970’s vintage handbags. Compartments can be found in IT bags such as the Chloe Faye.

If the bucket bag is too roomy for you, a saddle bag is the perfect way to rock the 1970’s look this fall season. Flap shoulder bags, or saddle bag, will compliment flare jeans, a-line skirts, and cinch waist jackets, which give off a 1970’s vibe.

Flap shoulder bags, or saddle bags, are also a great investment for the fall 2015 season. Since this of-the-moment style also happens to be a classic style, purchasing a flap shoulder bag, or saddle bag, for fall 2015 will place a timeless handbag staple in your closet for many years to come. Love that!

Here are a few fabulous flap closure shoulder bags, also known as saddle bags, for the fall 2015 season I found around the web. I hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Chunky heels and 70’s platforms for fall 2015

chunky heels and 70s platforms for fall 2015

Pictured from top left: Tan platforms / Multi-colored wood platforms / Grey platforms / Python platforms

They’re baaaa-aaack! Platforms are making a huge comeback as the 1970’s take center-stage for fall 2015 as the most important decade of influence over fashion for the cool weather season. As flare jeans, boho-chic, and long, straight hair return for fall, platforms and chunky heeled shoes take center stage as the “IT” shoe trend of the season.

There are two distinct shoe styles in this fall trend; the chunky heel with a flat sole, and the true, 1970’s platform. Chunky heeled shoes are being shown on sandals, pumps, booties, and boots for the fall 2015 season. Chunky heels are paired with a traditional flat sole, and round toe. This is an easy-to-walk-in version of the 1970’s shoe trend we are seeing hitting the streets from the runways for fall 2015. If you don’t want a broken ankle this fall, this is the ultimate way to rock the 70’s shoe trend. Chunky heels can be found in varying heights ranging from 1″ to 5″ depending on what you want to wear! Love that!

If you are feeling more retro and daring, platforms are back with a vengeance for the fall 2015 season. These vintage-styled shoes will look fierce with flare jeans, midi-skirts, and a-line mini-skirts for fall. Platforms are being shown on pumps, sandals, booties, and boots for fall 2015. Many soles are wooden, or made to look like wood. The color to look for is medium-dark brown. This will give off a true, 1970’s vibe. Groovy!

When it comes to platforms, be ready to practice walking in your shoes! These shoes are not for the faint of heart. If you need to do a lot of walking, or chasing of children, platforms may not be the right shoe for you. It is definitely worth owning one pair, which can be worn to events where you don’t need to walk up hills, or walk long distances. They are the ideal shoe to pair with your flare jeans this fall season! So hip 😉

I found a few fabulous chunky heeled shoes, and platform shoes, for the fall 2015 season and assembled them into the shopping widget below. I hope you love them! I have my eyes on a few pairs already! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉
