One of the most difficult things to find when you are 5’4″ or under, is a maxi dress which does not need shortening! I always have to factor in the cost of alterations when I look at long skirts or dresses. So, when I spotted this petite summer maxi dress, I was thrilled! No extra costs! Love that!

It is always nice to have a lightweight, breathable maxi dress for the warm summer months. I love this dress, which happens to come in both regular, and petite sizes, for the summer. It is lightweight, and extremely comfortable. The style is simple, so it can easily be paired with a variety of accessories. It can also be paired with heels for a more dressy, summer look. I prefer to wear it casually with espadrilles. It can also be topped with a hat! Yes!

The ruched waist adds a little bit of style to the dress, and also gives it shape. I love this dress so much, and the fact that it is petite!  I am thinking of adding it in black, and indigo, to my closet. It comes in six different colors! The darker colors such as merlot and black, will be great for transitioning into fall. The dress can easily be topped with a denim jacket or a scarf in the cooler autumn months.

This summer maxi dress also comes in regular sizes, so if you love it and are taller than 5’4″ the dress is available in six colors for you too! Love that! It can be found online in both petite and regular sizes here.

Petite flare jeans by Citizens of Humanity

One of the hardest things to shop for is jeans! At 5’4″ tall, I find the majority of jeans on the market way too long for me. I often have to spend extra money tailoring my jeans in order to fit my short legs. One huge problem I encounter is when I have to shorten bootcut, flare, or bell bottom jeans. When I have boot cut, flare, or bell bottom jeans shortened, I lose half the flare of the jean, thus ruining the silhouette of the pant. Can I tell you how annoying and frustrating this can be???

Due to this problem, I often find myself going straight to the Gap and purchasing their jeans in the “short” or “ankle” length. Since the Gap has great prices, this is not really a bag thing. I have to admit, I do get bored of always buying the same brand of jeans! So, I decided to try on a few pairs of petite jeans to see how they would fit.

I am not really sure why I haven’t tried petite jeans before. I already wear petite pants, so why have I not tried jeans?! Why did it take me so long to have this revelation?! Ah, the universe will never know. 😉

I was thrilled when I tried Citizens of Humanity flare jeans in a petite size. They fit perfectly! I have found denim heaven. Not only do these jeans fit perfectly, I do not have to shorten them, and they are soft and comfortable. Love that!

Petite jeans are now going to be my new guilty pleasure. I feel like a kid in a candy store trying on jeans that fit me! Yay! Since I love these petite jeans by Citizens of Humanity so much, I plan to get a few more pairs for the fall season.
