Maxi skirts for summer

wearing: statement earrings / knit top / summer nail polish / belted tote bag / maxi skirt / boots (old, similar here) /

I love a good maxi skirt, and this summer they’re back! Maxi skirts are a hot trend this year, and I love the comfort and freedom of a good maxi skirt. Printed or solid, maxi skirts are fabulous in any style this year. Love that!

This maxi skirt is under $100 and I love the warm hued print. It also has a mixed print and tassels. Super fun! Maxi skirts for summer are easy to dress up or down by switching tops and shoes. This maxi skirt will look cute this summer with sandals and a tee for casual, warm days. Love!

Relaxing in Rancho Mirage take two

wearing: (again, sorry for the blurry pic) / statement earrings / necklaces / white top / caramel top handle bag / summer nail polish / wide leg jeans / boots (old, similar here) /

OK, on the last day in Rancho Mirage I was exhausted. I know it looks like I didn’t do very much, but I was driving the girls around a lot and staying up late since the festival ended after midnight every night. I was tired, so by the last day, I slept in and relaxed around the Westin. Which is fine, because this hotel had a lot of activities and places to relax. Loved it!

Of course, I never did master the iPhone self-timer. Again, my outfit photos are horrible both with color and clarity. Sigh. . .

I did a lot of walking, relaxing, watching golf, and at the end of the evening, I watched the sunset. Desert sunsets are always beautiful. Love!

So, if you are headed to the Coachella Valley, I highly recommend the Westin Rancho Mirage. It is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. I will definitely go back, with more energy! haha

Exploring Palm Springs

wearing: (apologies for the blurry pic) / statement earrings / maxi dress / summer nail polish / caramel top handle bag / fisherman sandals /

I’m starting to think the self-timer on my iPhone is not my friend. The coloring and clarity aren’t happening for me. Ugh. So anyway. . .

Palm Springs is really close to Rancho Mirage, roughly a twenty-minute drive. So, I decided to explore the downtown and all it had to offer! I love checking out museums, so the Palm Springs Art Museum was a must-see. It is located across the street from the park where the famous Marilyn Monroe statue is housed.

The Marilyn statue is a busy spot! I never did get a clear photo of the statue. There were constantly people around, plus it was really hot. I don’t know how people live in the desert, when the temperature goes over ninety degrees, I melt. But I digress. . .

Despite the heat, downtown Palm Springs was really busy and crowded. I guess it was because it was Coachella weekend and it was a Saturday. I think this is a place I should revisit on a weekday when it is less crowded. That being said, it was a nice downtown and I enjoyed seeing the art, shops, and restaurants. I highly recommend visiting! Maybe just on a less busy day.

For dinner, I went back to the hotel to enjoy a meal at Pinzimini inside the Westin. The food was so good! This salmon tartare appetizer, and the risotto entree were my favorite dishes on the menu. Yum! And yes, that is a mocktail, no alcohol.

After dinner, the temperature cooled down, so I switched into jeans and took a walk around the grounds. The sunset was really pretty, offering shades of pink and purple. It was a relaxing evening and exactly what I needed.
