Happy September! We are seeing cooler nights, more fog, and a handful of trees starting to hint that fall is around is the corner. Thank goodness! I am ready for crisp weather, colorful leaves, and the air conditioner in the off position!

For the fall season, autumn hues, soft fabrics and timeless styles are hotter than hot. I love suede, satin, cozy sweaters, and coated fabrics which look like leather. It’s going to be a fabulous season!

Although the runways have hinted at a return to volume in silhouettes and maximalism, we are still seeing quiet styles on the streets and in stores. Even when things get voluminous, classic styles are still hot, so continue to investment shop and buy staples which can be mixed and matched; and will be easy to wear for several years, not just one season. The trend is to not be too trendy.

Handbag capsule wardrobe fall 2026

The fall season is upon us, and classic, chic handbags are here to stay. While the runways showed some oversize styles, small and medium handbags are dominating the streets. So, we can all continue to wear our small and medium bags while using classic totes for work, the gym, and anytime a tote is needed.

Since the anonymous handbag is timeless and shows off its beautiful quality, I am sticking to my current rotation of handbags for the fall season. I am mixing it up with both structure and slouch. Whichever style I am in the mood to wear, that is the bag I grab! I might go further into my archives and add another shoulder bag to my rotation, so stay tuned. . .

If you haven’t shopped your closet for fall yet, continue to wear your anonymous handbags and look for neutral hues as well as traditional autumn colors from your wardrobe. Pull them out and wear them! This season you can keep wearing east/west bags, belted totes, structured or slouchy, shoulder bags, hobo bags, and any style you want to wear! As long as your bag is anonymous and doesn’t display loud logos, you’re hotter than hot. Love that!

Of course, if you are looking for something new, look for neutrals, soft leathers, small and medium sizes, as well as timeless style. When it comes to handbags, it’s all about the investment versus the one season bag or the bag that will collect dust in your closet.

It’s starting to feel like fall! At least in the mornings while the fog is in, once it rolls out, it’s a bit warm outside, but I digress. . .

There’s nothing like the fall season. It is relief from the hot summer temperatures, the start of cozier fashion, and the opportunity to turn off the air conditioner and cozy up in a blanket on the sofa. Love that!

This fall season, traditional autumn hues are hotter than hot, and I love that! Classic fall colors and styles are what make the season perfect. Bring on olive, shades of brown, dark reds, berry hues, and everything fall!

For the fall 2026 season, my fall capsule wardrobe includes staples from my closet such as this navy shirt dress, black jeans, and this beige knit top. I have also added seasonal pieces which include this cozy cardigan sweater, short sleeve sweaters, and soft fabrications such as satin and faux leather. Since leather is popular for the fall 2026 season, I picked up this coated skirt, which mimics faux leather, for the season. Since it isn’t actually leather, it’s worry-free and easy to maintain. Love that!
