Photos from top:

1) There it is! The entrance to the press tent.

2) The Style Network’s “Style Lounge: Styled to Rock” This is where we loved to sit down when we needed to rest our tired feet. It was the THE most fabulous lounge inside the press tent. Rita is wearing a fabulous pair of jeans by 7 for all mankind. Online here.

3) The chandelier inside the Style Lounge. I would love to have this inside my home. A girl can dream. . .

4) Rita, myself and Katie at our favorite rest spot. My outfit details here. Katie is wearing a Diane Von Furstenberg dress and Valentino heels.

5) Papyrus lounge. The stationary brand was giving out fabulous and fashionable cards. They also allowed you to fill out a card to be mailed by Papyrus, for free! In this photo Katie writes and sends a card to a friend. Hello from New York!

6) Close-up of the Papyrus centerpiece. Love!

7) Katie’s shoes. Valentino Rockstuds were quite popular at New York Fashion Week. We saw the shoe style on several fashionable women’s feet in a variety of colors. Black was the most popular. Rockstuds are very of-the-moment. Love!

8) Show monitors. There were two monitors side-by-side which announced the next show. Underneath the monitors were computers where invited guests and press check in for each show.

9) The first thing you see when you enter the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week tent. A constant runway show, marble façade and behind the façade, a beautiful Mercedes Benz!

10) Katie and I on the stairs leaving the tent. We were amused at all the people who stand there watching everyone as they enter and exit the tent. There were people doing this from morning until night. Interesting. . .

New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2014!

I arrived at Lincoln Center on Friday, September 6, 2013 and picked up my press pass. It was so exciting to be there! The credential office was across the street from Lincoln Center and was filled with other editors and photographers. I loved seeing the photographers and their huge equipment! Many of the photographers carry multiple suitcases filled with equipment to each show. It was amazing to see how they tote the suitcases easily, without a fuss. I can only imagine how heavy and bulky they must be!

Outside Lincoln Center is a scene in and of itself. There were hundreds of people just hanging around who were not associated with the shows. The people in the courtyard were a combination of tourists, street style photographers and people dressed up and lingering around in the hopes a street style photographer would snap their picture. It was quite an interesting sight to see!

I wore high heels on the first day while I was still fresh. I have to admit, after the first few shows I went back to the hotel and switched to these Rebecca Minkoff flats in black. My feet were very happy to switch to flats, even if they didn’t quite look right with my outfit. Sometimes we have to value comfort over style

Stay tuned! More posts about New York Fashion Week are on their way; including the shows I attended!

Studded Empire

Outfit details: Earrings: c/o Twisted Silver / Lipstick: c/o Laura Mercier “Myth” / Necklace: c/o Twisted Silver / Blouse: Collective Concepts / Bracelets: Tory Burch (left arm) Taylor and Tessier (right arm) / Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff / Nail Polish: Essie “For The Twill Of It” / Pants: Gap (on sale!) / Boots: Michael Kors

There is something intriguing about mixing edgy, rocker chic studs with feminine, vintage cameos. This is what drove me to pair Twisted Silver’s new “Empire” necklace with my favorite studded fall handbag from Rebecca Minkoff in the above photos.
The new “Empire” necklace from Twisted Silver features beautiful and colorful vintage cameos. The cameos are set in brass with a pearl-like ball at the bottom of the piece which adds a little feminine, yet sassy, flair to the overall necklace. Love that!
Twisted Silver’s new “Empire” necklace works perfectly with fall 2013’s trends. Fall is all about rocker chic details, a little bit of grunge and feminine silhouettes; everything the “Empire” necklace embodies. Perfection!
This beautiful new necklace is priced at $60 and can be found online at Twisted-Silver.com. Use coupon code INSIDERS for a 15% discount. Happy shopping, and stay fabulous
