Have you ever wondered how to keep your purse dry in the rain, or better yet, how to protect your purse in the rain? So have I! Anytime the clouds gather, I start to cringe if I am out somewhere with one of my favorite handbags. The last thing a handbag girl wants is for her bag to get ruined by the rain!

I have thought about carrying a garbage bag with me, so I can throw it over my handbag when the skies open up, but alas, I cannot see myself accessorized with a garbage bag over my handbag. I just can’t. So when I heard about The Gussy, I was more than thrilled; I was ecstatic!

The Gussy is the most amazing thing to happen to handbags since the advent of “IT” status. There is no better way to protect a precious purse than The Gussy. It is the ultimate “IT” bag accessory! Love!

This fabulous handbag raincoat can adjust to fit any size purse. It has three flaps which can go inside a handbag’s handle, or around it. You can see my demonstration in the photos above of how The Gussy works to fit a handbag. My Givenchy Antigona is the small size, so as you can see, The Gussy fits it perfectly with plenty of room to spare. This purse raincoat can definitely fit larger bags too! Love that!

I also love how small, and compact, The Gussy folds up to be! It slides perfectly into the side of the interior of my handbag; leaving plenty of room for my purse essentials. It is quite handy. I am so happy I don’t have to wonder how to protect my purse in the rain anymore.

The Gussy is available in several patterns and colors. I just love the navy with white polka dots. It matches my favorite navy umbrella perfectly. They make a great rainy day pair!

I have always wondered how to keep my purse dry in the rain, so discovering The Gussy is a life saver! Have you ever wondered how to protect your purse in the rain? If you have, definitely check out The Gussy. It is so perfect for keeping your handbag dry in the rain!

Lace trench coat and pink for spring

how to style a lace trench coat for spring casual outfit for spring express lace trench for spring lace for spring 2016 lace trench coat for spring pink and lace for spring pink mini mansur gavriel bucket bag transition to spring casual outfit ideahow to wear a lace trench coat for spring 2016

This lace trench coat! I originally purchased this lace trench coat for spring at the end of January to wear in New York for fashion week. It has since become the perfect trench coat to wear this spring season!

We took these photos while it was lightly raining outside, you may spot water drops on the camera lens, and this lace trench coat was the perfect weight. The lace is over a  lightweight black liner which adds just the right amount of warmth on a mild, unsettled spring day.

The temperatures this month have been hovering in the 50’s and 60’s. This lace trench coat has been the perfect topper to tee shirts, and this long sleeve blouse, during mild weather. Although I would not wear a lace trench coat during heavy rain, it performs fine during light rain, or fog mist. I love it!

I have worn my lace trench coat over skirts, a black dress, and my favorite casual spring outfit; flares and a top! I love how it spices up a pair of basic flare jeans, and a pink blouse. The lace trench coat really makes the outfit; otherwise, it’s just jeans and blouse.

Lace has never been a fabric I have been drawn to. I always used to associate it with pajamas and lingerie; or as an accent on formal wear. When lace became a popular fabric for everything from shoes to coats to dresses a few years ago, I started to take note. This is the first season I have broken out of my comfort zone, and purchased a lace piece of clothing! I am so glad I did!

I am looking forward to wearing this lace trench coat more, and more, during the spring season; and on foggy summer days! What are your thoughts on wearing lace pieces casually this spring?

JLSJ fundraising gala gown and recap

Fundraising gala gown outfit details: Earrings: Kendra Scott / Lipstick: c/o Dolce & Gabbana / Gown: David Meister / Ring: Amethyst, yellow gold, gift from Mother, (also love this one) / Nail Polish: Chanel Roubachka /  Handbag: Chanel (also love SAVE or SPLURGE) / Shoes: Tom Ford

Every two years, the Junior League of San Jose holds a fashion show fundraiser. There are two events held; a daytime luncheon, and an evening gala. This time I only attended the gala. Some years, I have attended both events; because they are so much fun!

The JLSJ fashion show fundraiser has a special place in my heart. From 2002-2010 I was an active member of the Junior League, and worked tirelessly on the steering committee for the fundraiser. I love how many fun ways there are to raise money at this event! There are raffles, showcases, a silent auction, a live auction, a call to action, and games!

Also, many of the retailers who show their lines on the runway will offer a percentage of sales to the league for a a few days after the event. This encourages guests to shop at, and support, our sponsors. It really is win/win!

Now, as a sustainer in the Junior League, I enjoy attending the event and seeing the fabulous creativity of the current actives. They always put on such a great show, and event. I am so proud of all their hard work! I cannot wait to find out the final numbers, and see how much we raised for our charities, and projects!

The Junior League of San Jose works hard in the community to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve the community. The league improves the community through partnerships, signature projects, and grants for local non-profits, and charities. Now, this is a fashion blog, so let’s chat for second about my dress! I have fallen in love with one shoulder gowns; I wore a navy one to the last fashion show fundraiser in 2014! So, I decided this was the silhouette for me, but not in navy 😉

I loved all of the structural influences on the spring 2016 runways in New York, so when I saw this one shoulder gown with a metal belt, I knew it was the dress for me! Not only did it reflect the structural trend I loved from the NYFW runways for spring, it had one shoulder! Love!

My black vintage Delman’s have attended their last gala, so after two decades, I replaced them with this pair of classic, black satin pumps. I love the gold high heel! I feel like these shoes are a classic with a twist. Always fun to have a twist!

Love the collection from Azadeh shown during the JLSJ fashion show fundraiser; enjoy the final walk featuring her designs!
