Exploring the PA State Capitol

wearing: sunglasses / hoop earrings / black tee / east/west bag / blue nail polish / wide leg jeans (old, also love this pair) / sneakers /

Landed in Harrisburg! We took a red eye flight into Harrisburg last week and as soon as we arrived, we headed straight to the Capitol to explore. Last time I was in Harrisburg, it was just my daughter and me. This trip included the entire family, so we took them to the capitol to enjoy the beautiful interior design.

While touring the capitol, we were able to watch the house in session and see how they present bills and vote. It was really fascinating to watch some bills go straight down party lines and others pass with a majority. Since PA is a swing state, bills that pass are truly bipartisan. I wish we had that luxury in California. . .but I digress. . .

After seeing the capitol building, we were on our way to the museum when a huge rainstorm started. There really wasn’t a build-up. The rain didn’t sprinkle and give us time to take cover; it just exploded out of the sky. In addition, there was thunder and lightning in less than minute after the sky opened up. Needless to say, our umbrellas did not suffice, and we were drenched. We went back to change our cloths and wait out the storm.

By the time the storm stopped, the museum was closed. We decided to head out to dinner and then take a walk afterwards. We enjoyed a delicious meal across from the capitol at Sammy’s Authentic Italian Restaurant. All five of us finished our plates, the food was so good! I enjoyed the Veal Marsala-highly recommend if you stop in!

There is a lot of history in Harrisburg, I hope to go back someday and check out the museum! If you visit, be sure to tour the capitol building, visit the museum, take a walking tour and explore the historic buildings, and enjoy a fabulous meal at Sammy’s. Love!

Thanks for stopping by!

Moulin Rouge! A Sparkling Soiree

wearing: statement earrings / white cardigan / black tee / summer nail polish / east/west bag / black wide leg pants / boots (old, similar here) /

Moulin Rouge is coming to Broadway San Jose July 8, 2025. Get excited!

In order to kick off this exciting show coming to Broadway San Jose, they held A Sparkling Soiree to celebrate Moulin Rouge taking the stage in San Jose. Held at Left Bank Santana Row, this French, circus themed event included a signature drink, heavy appetizers, cookies, and fun! It was nice to meet those working on the show as well as fellow theater goers interested in helping to promote the event.

As you know, Moulin Rouge is a famous Broadway show which has won numerous awards and also has an award winning cast and crew. I am really excited to see the show in July!

Broadway San Jose hosts traveling Broadway Shows at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. This is a cool, mid-century modern venue with comfortable seats, amazing acoustics, and close proximity to plenty of parking and delicious restaurants. Attending a show with Broadway San Jose makes for the perfect night out! I highly recommend it.

So, if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, or you plan to visit, be sure to catch Moulin Rouge July 8-13, 2025. Or, catch one or more of the other shows coming to San Jose this summer and next season!

You can learn more at BroadwaySanJose.com.

Can’t wait for to see Moulin Rouge! I hope you see it too!

Spring 2025 fitness routine

pictured: cycle studio Bay Club Courtside /

Now that spring is here, I have tweaked my weekly fitness routine to fit into my schedule and also optimize my time. Last year, I gained some weight back that I had lost a couple of years ago; to the tune of ten pounds. Ah! It was my fault for eating sugar and not doing enough weight training at the gym. So, this season, I am going to make sure I get my weights in and also refrain from added sugar. This should take care of that pesky ten pounds!

It is important to mix cardio, interval (HIIT), and weights into your weekly fitness routine. This keeps your workouts balanced and effective. Cardio is good for your heart, weights are good for strength and bone density, and interval is good for metabolism and fat burn. Therefore, a good weekly mix is perfect!

*DISCLAIMER: Always speak with your doctor before starting any fitness routine. I am a retired athlete, not a fitness trainer or medical professional. What works for me might not work for you.

Now, without further ado, here is my spring fitness routine!

Sunday: Weights and cycle class.

Monday: BodyCombat

Tuesday: 30-minute walk, stretch, rest

Wednesday: Cycle class (cardio)

Thursday: Strong Nation (HIIT)

Friday: 30-minute walk, weights, abs

Saturday: rest
