Spring is official this upcoming weekend! If you haven’t already updated your makeup bag, skin care routine, and hair care-it’s time!

Makeup for spring uses bright versions of classic hues, which offer a timeless yet cheery look for the warm weather season. Love that! I’m crushing on this bright and sparkling red nail polish, as well as this bright yet timeless lipstick hue.

Spring skin care

Spring skin care from top left: neck cream / face cream / eye cream / anti-aging serum / hand cream / body butter / eau de parfum (ok, not technically skin care but makes skin smell good-so it’s related, right?? haha) (review here)

The spring season is when skin care starts to change. As temperatures warm up, we need to make sure our skin is getting the attention it needs. I love making sure I have spf in my face cream, as well as ensuring I am keeping my skin tone even as the sun starts to give me a base tan.

I also love this body butter to ensure my skin is properly moisturized. Also, this hand cream is fabulous; especially with all the hand washing we do these days!

My hair has been dry and brittle, so I switched up my shampoo! I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for two weeks now, and I already notice a difference. My hair is getting healthier and less brittle. Love that!

Also a huge fan of this oil treatment and hair dryer. If you are going to splurge on anything, this hair dryer is worth every penny. It is so gentle on the hair; yet it does the job quickly! Love it!

Kerastase Blond Absolu hair care review

kerastase blond hair care

Kerastase Blond Absolu from top left: (all products c/o Kerastase) Kerastase Blond Absolu Cicaplasme / Kerastase Blond Absolu Serum Cicanuit / Kerastase Blond Absolu hydrating shampoo / Kerastase Blond Absolu  hair mask /

OK, you might be wondering why I am talking about blond hair care when I am brunette, I have a good reason! My daughter is blond! She is at an age where she cares deeply about hair care, and really wants products which will keep her blond hair vibrant and healthy. In addition to being blond, she has fine hair which is also very curly, so finding the right products to keep her hair in tip-top shape is always a challenge.

I was thrilled when Kerastase reached out to send me a few products to try out. My daughter had been looking for new hair care products, and the Kerastase Blond Absolu line sounded exactly like what she needed. I decided to have her try the products out, and if she loved them, I would share them with you. Guess what, she loved them!!

She has naturally blond hair, but a little over a year ago she dyed her tips blue. The blue didn’t stay blue, it turned aqua and then a funny green color. So, in order to restore her natural blond hue, we had the blue dye removed, and highlights added to the bottom half of her hair where the color had been. The top of her head is natural, and the bottom half matches her natural color perfectly. This means her hair care needs to work on natural blond hair as well as processed. Thankfully Kerastase Blond Abolu worked it’s magic!

She loves the shampoo which keep her hair hydrated and vibrant. She also uses the mask occasionally and she says it purifies her hair. If her hair seems dry from swimming or being at the beach, she uses the serum overnight to restore moisture an vibrancy.  The cicaplasme is great to protect her hair when she blow dries it. All in all, she is in love with this line and wants to use it for the long haul. We will be buying a new bottle of the shampoo shortly!

I too love Kerastase products, so in the shopping widget below I have linked to the Blond Absolu products my daughter loves as well as the products I love to use too on my brown, and slightly dry, hair. I hope you love this line too!

December beauty bag: Kerastase

kerastase hair spray review

pictured: Kerastase products c/o Kerastase: Kerastase laque extreme / Kerastase Aura Botanica eau de vagues /

Can you believe it is already December? It feels like I just did my November beauty bag round up! I haven’t added much since my last beauty bag post. There are only two products I started using since we last spoke about what’s in my bag. They both happen to be Kerastase, and they both happen to be styling products!

My oldest daughter is on her school’s cheerleading squad. Her hair has to be worn up, and it has to stay up; despite tumbling, jumping, dancing, and stunting. Since her her hair has to basically be cemented to her head, I am always on the hunt for the perfect hair spray. This is it!

The Kerastase laque extreme holds her hair in the perfect pony tail, allowing her to perform her dances, cheers, stunts, and jumps worry-free. Love that! She doesn’t need to spray it multiple times to make sure it is holding, it just holds. It is also working well because it does not leave her hair sticky or greasy. Kerasrase’s laque extreme also washes out nicely. It’s the perfect hair spray!

For me, I don’t need to have my hair perfectly perfect. In fact, I like movement in my hair. After all, my style is California Casual since this is where I am born and raised! I like my hair to be tame, without being stiff. Kerastase’s Aura Botanica eau de vagues is perfect for everyday hair-styling. It tames my flyaways and allows me to give myself a natural hairdo without looking like 1980s mall hair-let’s face it, I already did that in the ’80’s! haha, Love!
