Stay fabulous and warm on New Years

New Years Eve is an evening when many Fashionistas find themselves attending a semi-formal or formal event where keeping warm just is not on the agenda. Most party attire does not offer long, warm sleeves; rather, they bare the shoulder or provide little coverage in the form of a short sleeve. For an evening such as this, a wrap is in order.

The one type of cover up Fashionistas should have their closets, or invest in for New Years this year, is a black formal wrap. A formal wrap is an easy way to keep warm and not hide your entire outfit underneath a large coat. If you have a black wrap in velvet, silk or cashmere buried in your closet, then you are all set for keeping warm this New Years Eve without sacrificing your fabulous outfit. If you do not already own a wrap that works with your holiday attire or is basic black, then it is time to go shopping.

There are several classic yet festive wraps on store shelves right now that will also make great investment pieces. Iiana Wolf has a sequin silver and black wrap that is perfect for New Years and can easily be an investment piece for years to come. Gucci has a festive black or lavender animal print wrap that features fringe on the edges. Loro Piana has a wool scarf that features animal prints. Although not a formal wrap, the Loro Piana wrap can easily be worn for a semi-formal event and with any pant outfit.

The thing to look for in an investment wrap is longevity and quality. Wraps should be classic and in a color that you know will integrate well with your current wardrobe. The quality should also high since a wrap is on the outside of your outfit, it will be the first impression someone has of your ensemble. Look for quality wools, velvet and smooth silk. Happy shopping, Happy New Years and have a fabulous night

Glitter Pumps for the Holidays

Glitter pumps have slowly become an evening classic over the past few years since Christian Louboutin fist made them popular a few years ago. Glitter pumps have been shown with evening gowns on the red carpet as well as semi-formal attire. A pair of glitter pumps can be worn over again, unlike a dress which can only be worn to the same event once, making them a good investment purchase.

The glitter pump has a few variations such as open toe, closed toe, platform, flat sole and for the 2010 holiday season, Louboutin has included a kitten heel, ankle strap glitter pump. Christian Louboutin has also created a pointy toe glitter flat which comes in classic pale gold and silver. Louboutin is not the only creator of glitter pumps; Diane Von Furstenberg, Jimmy Choo and Guiseppe Zanotti have their own versions of the glitter pump for the holiday season.

Christian Louboutin has upped the ante this holiday season by showing his traditional glitter pumps in colors such as candy pink, bright yellow, midnight blue, silver and black.

The glitter pump seems to have become a classic, making it a wise purchase for the holiday season. The glitter pump can be found in platforms, flat soles, kitten heels and flats; giving everyone a choice of style. Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Make-Up has gone PINK for the Holidays

The Holiday make-up trend this year is pink! Chanel has released their holiday make-up collection and it is in shades of pink. There is a shade of pink for everyone with the brighter, more candy pink the focal point. Although there are several brands of make-up on the market, Chanel tends to show the leading edge colors every season and is a safe bet when it comes to the current make-up trends.

One of the big colors for resort is candy pink. There are candy pink shoes, handbags and apparael. It is not hard to imagine that the make-up will be pink too. As the holiday season comes closer, instead of waiting for the resort make-up colors to arrive on store shelves, Chanel has opted to present pink earlier than other make-up brands by making it the prominent color in the holiday collection.

Chanel is showing candy pink nail color named Pulsion as well as a softer pink named Mica Rose. As with Chanel nail color every season, the new colors fly off of store shelves before you can match your new Prada pumps to an outfit. Therefore, it is good to know there are alternate Chanel nail colors to wear, just in case you miss out on the first shipment of Pulsion and Mica Rose. Jade Rose from fall 2010 is a very soft pink which will work well with holiday color palettes as well as the upcoming resort and spring looks. It should be in stock!

Lip gloss is also taking a pink turn for the holiday, resort and spring seasons. The pink lip gloss hitting store shelves is in four distinct shades: baby pink, candy pink, deep rose pink and peachy pink. Lip stick of course has turned pink and is also being shown in pale and candy shades.

Cheeks are looking a little bit sun-kissed this season as well. The blush hitting store shelves is medium pink and gives Fashionistas the look of spring’s first sun-kiss.

Eye shadow is coming in two looks for the holiday season. White eye shadow is back to either use alone for a club-evening look or in conjunction with pale pinks. The dark brown smoky eye is also making an appearance. Heavy eye make-up was a look we saw on the spring runways. This is one make-up look that might be making it from the runway to reality.

Pinks, fuchsias, dark browns and pinkish purples are the make-up colors of the holiday season as well as into resort. Make-up brands such as Chanel at the high-end and Cover Girl at the low-end, have a wide array of pinks on store shelves right now. Perfect time to stock up before everyone starts to see pink! Happy shopping and stay fabulous
