How cute is this handbag! One of the big trends for the fall 2022 season is the moon shaped handbag. The new Coach Luna bag is the perfect moon shaped bag for rocking this trend while looking chic. Love it!
The moon shaped handbag trend arose from the hobo handbag trend. It is a slightly more structured version of a hobo without being a larger handbag. Moon shaped bags offer the hobo look without the bulk that comes with a hobo bag. This is a great handbag style for minimalism while being on the cutting edge of current handbag trends. You know I love that!
As soon as the Coach Luna bag popped up on the Coach website and in stores, I fell in love. This handbag is the right size for all of my daily essentials which include a wallet, lipstick, keys, and phone.
What fits inside the Coach Luna bag
In addition to holding my daily essentials, there is still room for sunglasses or other things I need to pop inside my handbag. The Coach Luna is a great size for everyday wear.
One of the things I love about my Coach Luna bag is that the leather is amazing! Coach is known for having high quality leather and craftsmanship at affordable prices. With the Luna bag, Coach does not disappoint. This handbag is made from strong, pebbled leather and offers superior craftsmanship. I am really impressed with this bag, especially for the price! Who doesn’t love a fabulous IT bag under $500! I know I do!
Inside the Coach Luna bag you will find one open pocket. This pocket does not fit a phone, but it does fit folded bills and credit cards. If you don’t want to carry a wallet, this is an optional place for those items. I am just using it to fold and store receipts to keep my interior organized.

What do you think of this beautiful handbag? Do you plan to snap one up and rock the moon shaped bag trend this season?
The summer 2022 handbag trends are in full swing, and thankfully we have a lot of these bags in our closets! There aren’t any surprises for the summer season when it comes to handbags. We already knew hobo bags, bucket bags, brightly colored bags, small or mini bags, and ’90’s oversized bags were going to be hot for 2022. So, it comes as no surprise that these bags are hot for the summer season. Of course, we can still rock our pouch bags, straw bags, and cross body bags during the summer season, but there are few styles we need to make sure we pull out of our closets, or invest in, for the summer season.
Hobo Bags “Moon Shaped Bags:” OK, we already knew both structured and soft hobo bags were going to be hot throughout 2022, but for some reason, people have started calling them “Moon Shaped Bags” for summer 2022. This could be due to the fact that some designers have really exaggerated the hobo shape on their structured versions, making them into an obvious moon. Or, someone, somewhere, just wanted to update the name. Either way, a moon bag is just a hobo. Pull yours out from your closet if you haven’t already, or invest in a new one. This handbag style is hotter than hot, and it isn’t going anywhere in the near future.
Oversized Bag: Did you have a bag in the early 2000’s and late ’90’s that could fit the kitchen sink inside? Pull it out from the back of your closet. Vintage oversized bags are hot right now. If you don’t already have one, or desire something new, this is the upcoming trend in handbags. I have my eye on that chocolate brown beauty in the collage!
Bright bags: Not all your bags need to be neutral. Find a brightly colored bag for the summer and enjoy rocking it.
Bucket bag: Many bags this summer season look like a pail. You can go the trendy pail route or stick with a classic bucket bag such as the beauty pictured above. Either way, buckets are hot right now.
Box bags: Here is something classic yet new on the handbag trend scene! You’ve likely seen box bags forever, but for summer 2022 they are building momentum as a hot trend. This is a classic style you can feel confident in investing in since after the trend, the bag will still be relevant as a classic style. Look for square styles which are small or medium in size and offer a shoulder strap, not cross body. I would stick to a neutral hue in this style since it is classic. This will give your new bag longevity.
Metallic bags: Gold, silver, bronze, pewter, and even shiny colors are hot for summer. While gold bags are the hottest of the bunch, go for a color that works well with your wardrobe. I am eyeing that pewter bag pictured above.
Square tote: The square tote is still hot! Keep rocking yours or invest in a new one for summer. It’s a great way to carry a small bag which still fits a lot of items such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a water bottle; everything we need on a hot summer day.
Straw bags: Although not pictured, straw bags are hot this summer season. Try investing in a classic straw bag, or go for a new, trendy style. Either way, they are refreshing for the summer season.
Pouch bags: Also, not pictured, pouch bags are still hot! Keep rocking your pouch, whether large or small. It’s a hot IT bag right now!
Small and mini bags: Small and mini bags, especially cross body, are still hot. Keep rocking yours and invest in a new one if you need a refresh for summer. Look for a fun color or metallic hue. Have fun with your mini bag!
What is your favorite style for the summer season? Are you investing in a new bag, or shopping your closet this season?
Remember those bags you coveted back in the early 2000s? They’re back! So crawl into the back of your closet and pull out your archives, because they are hotter than hot this year!
There are a few late 1990s, and early 2000s IT bags which are back with a vengeance this year, in addition to overall handbag trends. Remember the Balenciaga City Tote aka “moto bag?” It’s back, and if you cannot get your hands on a vintage one, Balenciaga has a new version with slightly inverted sides you can purchase now, and rock as if it were the original.
Remember the Dior Saddle bag? It has been popular again for the past few seasons, and it is holding steady as an IT bag to own now. If you don’t have one from back in the day, Dior has a few sizes, colors, and fabrications to choose from today. The common complaint I hear from Saddle bag owners is that everything in the bag falls to one side, if you don’t mind that, this could be your bag.
In addition to specific IT bags from close to twenty years ago, the early 2000s gave us several handbag trends which are hot again this year. Remember oversize handbags you could carry a small child inside? They are back, and the hottest one on the streets this year is from YSL. See above graphic.
The other trends to watch for include nylon bags from Prada, Bowler bags (I love Dior’s version), all types and sizes of hobos bags, baguettes (doesn’t have to be Fendi), classic Chanel bags (think flap and 2.55), and the Chloe Marcie in any style; saddle or satchel. Love!

What was your favorite handbag trend from the very late 1990s and early 2000s? My favorites include the baguette, Chloe Marcie, hobo bags, and nylon bags.
Quick shout-out to nylon bags; they can be worn in the rain! Love a bag I don’t have to worry about during inclement weather.
