JCrew Berkeley Bucket bag review

baggy clothing trend outfit ideas

wearing: statement earrings / lipstick / turtleneck sweater / wide leg jeans (sold out, also love this pair) / fall nail polish / bucket bag / Mary Jane flats /

I finally broke down and bought a suede bag! Of course, I was quite hesitant, so I bought a hybrid which is suede on one side, and leather on the other. I have to admit, I am in love!

J.Crew has a really popular bucket bag named the Berkeley Bucket Bag. It comes in a large range of colors, as well as this suede and leather combo bag. I decided to buy it because I felt like the bag fit into the north/south tote trend without being a large tote, and it also fit into the slouchy bucket bag trend; well, because it is actually a bucket bag. haha

Instead of my usual handbag review where I show what fits inside, I figured you would already know that daily purse essentials will fit inside this bag. In addition to my wallet, lipstick, keys, phone, and Kleenex, this J.Crew Berkeley Bucket Bag can fit gloves and a snow hat on cold days, as well as a scarf, snacks, and a water bottle. It is really roomy!

Inside the J.Crew Berkeley Bucket Bag, the bag is wide open. For small objects you don’t want to lose, I would recommend adding a small pouch or clutch to keep things organized. In order to secure the bag, there is a tie at the top. I have not used the tie; I tend to just leave the bag open. If I go somewhere where pickpocketing is a concern, I will use a pouch for small items, place a scarf on the top of the bag and tie it to secure it.

I love the slouchy look and feel of this bucket bag. Plus, it is priced under $200, love that! So, if you are looking for a handbag which is affordable yet fits into multiple handbag trends for fall, this is the one! There are plenty of colors to choose from and it has the look of a north/south tote, a bucket bag, and can fit into the role of a medium hobo bag; despite not looking like a hobo bag. Love!

This will be a fun bag to carry throughout the fall season, and beyond!

Thanks for stopping by!

Coach Brooklyn 23 review

coach brooklyn 23 review

Pictured: Coach Brooklyn 23 in Dark Ruby /

The Coach Brooklyn 23 is a small or mini version of Coach’s line of Brooklyn hobo bags, which is offered in multiple sizes. I chose the 23 because I wanted something that would fit my everyday essentials and nothing more. I don’t really carry that many things around with me.

I have been looking for a fall red handbag to add to my collection. My criteria for a fall red handbag included clean lines, a simple silhouette and something not too trendy so that I could consider it an investment bag for the fall season every year. I chose the Coach Brooklyn 23 because it fit my criteria for a fall red bag and the price was unbelievable!

Yes, this cute little Coach bag is priced well under $300. How could I resist? The silhouette is clean, and the Dark Ruby is a beautiful shade of dark red for the fall season.

The interior offers one pocket which is great for small items or keeping receipts neat and tidy. I can fit my wallet, lipstick, keys, and phone inside the bag with room to spare. So, despite the small size, the Coach Brooklyn 23 offers ample space for everyday purse essentials.

The bag also comes with a detachable chain strap which is made to be worn cross body. This is great for running errands or anytime you want to be hands free. I prefer the bag without the strap, but it is nice to know the strap is there if I need it.

I plan on wearing this cute little bag often this fall season. The color is amazing, and the size is perfect for my lifestyle.

What do you think of this small version of the Coach Brooklyn? Is the size right for you?

Coach Swing Zip review

pictured: Coach Swing Zip in black / nail polish / sweater / jeans /

How cute is the Coach Swing Zip! This small satchel is a reissue of an almost identical version Coach released in the early 2000’s. Do you know what this means? Glove tanned leather! Yes! Of course, it is not the same as the leather from the 1990s, but still, the glove tanned leather from Coach is still nice.

There is currently an east/west satchel trend on the streets right now, so the Coach Swing Zip fits right into that trend making it both classic and trendy, love that! The Swing Zip by Coach offers a zipper closure, an interior zipper pocket, and an interior slip pocket. The two shoulder straps are adjustable, but I don’t see why anyone would adjust them. The straps are perfect for wearing the bag as a shoulder bag.

The Coach Swing Zip is room enough for daily essentials, but it is still on the small side. I can fit my wallet, lipstick, phone, keys, Kleenex, and glasses case inside.

There is still a small amount of room after I fill the bag with my essentials, but not much. I would say it is a step up, interior space-wise, from the Coach Swinger.

The Coach Swing Zip is proving to be a popular reissue. it seems to sell out with a day or two of Coach releasing a batch. If you follow me on LTK you can save this link and the app will alert you when it restocks.

This is a great, timeless satchel priced well under $500 you can feel good about investing in. I love mine! You can find the Swing Zip by Coach online here.
