The Dream Catcher necklace is more than a beautiful piece of jewelry. Not only is Twisted Silver’s Dream Catcher necklace made from organic wood, raw brass and suede, it harkens back to a time when Native Americans were united during the Pan-Indian movement in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

The original “Dreamcatcher” necklaces were designed by Native American’s, more specifically the Ojibwa Nation. The “Dreamcatcher” symbolized unity during the Pan-Indian Movement of the 60’s and 70’s. Although they were a symbol of unity, the history behind the Dreamcatcher originates from the traditions of the Ojibwa Nation.

“Dreamcatchers” were objects which were made from personal and sacred items. The Native American version was handmade and based upon a willow hoop which had a woven net within the hoop. The net was then decorated with personal and sacred items which helped infants, children and adults get a good night’s sleep. The theory was that bad dreams would pass through the holes in the net and the good dreams would be captured in the net, slide through the personal items in the web and transfer to the person.

Leather cuffs and leather bracelets have been huge the past few seasons. Although, for summer 2012 and for fall 2012 leather cuffs and leather bracelets are exploding as arguably the most popular bracelet style on the street.

While not dominant on the runways, designers and jewelry brands alike have been designing and selling their own versions of the rocker chic leather bracelet. Fashionistas have flocked to the jewelry style over the past few seasons and the trend has taken off for summer 2012 and fall 2012.

Leather cuffs and bracelets have been shown in every color, type of leather and faux leather imaginable. Exotic skins, plain leather and faux leather are being shown on hard cuffs, soft bracelets and soft wrap bracelets.

Cuff bracelets which are made from leather are mainly being shown in smooth, understated styles. The unembellished cuffs are usually made from metal and feature leather or faux leather stretched around the outside to create a non-shiny, understated jewelry piece which is colorful and playful.

Bracelets made from leather and faux leather are anything but plain. Leather bracelets are shown with studs and embellishments for summer and fall. Leather bracelets for summer and fall offer rock n’ roll style as well as hardcore chic. The bracelets are shown as a traditional, once around style or as a wrap style which can go around the wrist anywhere from two to four times.

Chanel fall 2012 nail polish colors Vertigo, Suspicious and Frenzy are revealed

Chanel’s fall 2012 nail polish has hit store shelves and the hues, Vertigo, Suspicious and Frenzy, are right on trend for the fall and winter 2012 season. Chanel has created three hot colors for fall including the nail polish color, Frenzy, which created quite an internet stir when it appeared on the runway in Chanel’s fall/winter 2012/2013 Paris Fashion Week, ready-to-wear show.

Nail polish for fall 2012 is being shown in neutral nudes, dark browns and classic shades of red. Vertigo by Chanel is a deep, dark brown with a light, sparkling sheen which is perfect for pairing with fall’s traditional color palette and neutral apparel hues. The second nail polish color, Suspicious by Chanel is a purplish red with pink undertones which is classic and slightly edgy. The last color, Chanel Frenzy, which became an Internet sensation after appearing on Chanel’s fall 2012 runway during Paris Fashion Week, is a grey-nude which offers a cool look and will easily blend well with any color palette for fall.

Suspicious and Frenzy are all flat colors and do not offer the same sparkle which has been appearing on Chanel nail polish over the course of the last few seasons. Vertigo offers a slight sparkle which adds dimension to the otherwise, dark nature of the hue.
While Vertigo and Suspicious are on-trend and fabulous for fall 2012, Chanel’s Frenzy is expected to be the frontrunner and “IT” color for the fall 2012 season. Nude nail polish is hot for fall and was spotted on the runways in New York, Milan, London and Paris by various designers. Beauty companies have also been creating their own versions of nude nail polish for the fall 2012 season which are arriving on store shelves as we speak.
