Despite the fact that the economy is opening up, many of us are still working from home, and spending a ton of time at home. While we would love to give others the impression that we are getting dressed in the morning, let’s face it, often times we are lounging around in our pajamas. You know you are!

Wouldn’t you like to know your pajamas are soft and good for the earth? I would! I am loving these soft and cozy pajamas from Cozy Earth. They are made from bamboo; which as you know, is a renewable resource. Bamboo grows so fast! Cozy Earth uses premium quality fabrics, which keeps a comfortable temperature, feels luxurious, and is hypoallergenic. Love that!

The company is also extremely responsible. They know everyone in their supply chain; from where the bamboo is harvested to who is making their labels. Start to finish, this company knows every aspect of their manufacturing process, and ensures it is responsible and good for the Earth.

I am loving these soft, luxurious, and comfortable pajamas. They are a great comfort right now; and I love knowing they are eco-chic too! I definitely need to pick up another pair in another color; and I am eyeing their beautiful sheet sets! This fabric would be heaven to sleep on!

For a limited time, you can snap up a pair of these eco-chic pajamas for yourself-at 50% off! Love that! Head over to CozyEarth.com and use coupon code CATHYO50 to save 50% off your new pair of luxurious and soft, Cozy Earth pajamas! Let me know which color you choose!

Sustainably sourced fall must-have’s

shirtdress winter into spring

This sustainably sourced dress is priced well under $100, you can see my original post here. / Black dress pictured at bottom of post can be found here, original post here.

Humans use a lot of products. These products are often created using resources rather than recycled materials. In addition, many of the manufacturing processes used to create these products are detrimental to the environment. That’s why when I learned of a few brands working hard to create sustainable fashion, I was thrilled!

The shirtdress pictured above is still in my closet, and worn frequently. I photographed it for the blog when I was in New York for fashion week back in February. I love that it is still on store shelves, priced under $100, and sustainably sourced. One of the fallacies many people believe is that sustainable = expensive. This is not true! You can find sustainable products at inexpensive, fast fashion retailers such as H&M or TopShop, mid-market brands such as Eileen Fisher, and from luxury fashion houses based in Paris. You just need to know where to look!

Many retailers are starting to point out when their products are eco-conscious and/or sustainably sourced. This is great news for consumers as we try to navigate what to buy, and where to buy it.

So to make things easier, I found a few fabulous eco-chic items for fall, which I hope you will love! After all, most of them are surprisingly affordable, and they happen to be sustainably sourced. Love!

Ways to reduce plastic waste in the ocean with adidas

ways to reduce plastic waste adidas recycled plastic sneakers brands that care about environment reduce ocean plastics adidas

wearing: adidas x Missoni jacket (love this! I wear it all the time!) / black leggings / adidas backpack (also makes a great carry-on for travel-laptop fits perfectly inside!) / recycled adidas Parley running shoes (they fit perfectly! My favorite pair ever!)

One of the big environmental topics of the moment is the amount of plastics we are finding in our oceans. As you know, this is a huge problem which affects the entire global population. Our sea life, sea creatures, and oceanic health are at stake; and we cannot sit around doing nothing. We have to act!

There are so many ways to keep plastics out of our oceans. Aside from cleaning up our current mess, we need to ensure we are not adding to it. As a world, we need to come together and keep plastic waste our of our waters, and ensure we are acting responsibly with the plastic we have in circulation.

As you know, I am huge fan of adidas. Not only are they a responsible company who works hard to make fashion sustainable, they are using technology and innovation to reduce our plastic waste, recycle the plastics we have in circulation, and contribute to the clean-up of our oceans. Love that!

I am honored to partner with adidas this month to help spread the word! We all need to be aware of the importance of reducing our plastic waste and recycling the plastics we have in circulation.

Ways to reduce plastic waste in the ocean

  • Re-use plastic items such as bags and containers.
  • Bring your own bags shopping so that you won’t need a plastic bag when you go shopping.
  • Recycle unneeded plastic items.
  • Try to not purchase goods packaged in plastic. Looks for good packaged in paper, or reusable containers instead.
  • Bring a trash bag to the beach, anytime you go! Wear gloves, and pick up any plastic you see and put it in a recycling bin.
  • Find an organized beach clean up activity, and join in!
  • Purchase products made from recycled plastic and materials.
  • Get artistic! Create artwork with plastic items and display your art in your home, or donate it to a local museum or school. Or, sell your artwork and donate the proceeds to charities who focus on recycling plastic or ocean clean ups.

adidas has an entire collection in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans aptly named the adidas Parley collection! Parley for the Oceans works hard to address environmental threats to our oceans through plastic pollution. Through this collaboration, the adidas Parley collection creates sustainable footwear and apparel which are recyclable and made from recycled materials. Love!

I’m in love with my adidas Parley running shoes. Not only are they a fabulous shoe for running, walking, and working out, I can feel comforted knowing my purchase of them helped Parley for the Oceans address the plastic pollution problems our oceans face.
