Well this is rare! After releasing the holiday 2017 nail polish collection, Chanel has released a special collection of limited edition nail polishes for the winter 2018 season. This rare, winter collection, is comprised of three, green-based nail colors which are named after numbers that had a special meaning for Coco Chanel. Love this!

Every season, Chanel creates colors based upon the clothing collection for that particular season. These nail polish collections typically reflect the color palette Chanel is showing for that particular season. This time around, Chanel has released a collection based upon lucky numbers which have a special meaning for Coco Chanel. I love collections like this!

The last time I invested in a special piece by Chanel which was reflective of something that meant a lot to her, I purchased a black “Puzzle Pieces” tote. Remember that collection from over ten years ago? It was based upon a quilt Coco had created, and Karl Lagerfeld later discovered, in her archives. The collection had been a nod to her love of quilting fashioned after the puzzle piece quilt. This nail polish collection feels just as special.

There is something else different about the Chanel winter 2018 nail polish collection. The brush! The cylindrical brush we have all come to know and love is a thing of the past. Chanel has jumped on the flat brush bandwagon and designed a flat application brush. This brush is a bit longer, and leaner, then other brushes we have seen on the market; allowing it to brush the nail polish on evenly, without getting the skin around your nail all messed up. Love that!

Without further ado, here are the three green hues for winter 2018 from the Chanel Collection Chiffree nail polish line..

Chanel winter 2018 nail polish – Chanel Vert No. 22 – Collection Chiffree

Chanel Vert no. 22 nail polish is a dark grey with a green tinge. This is my favorite color from the collection. Vert no. 22 by Chanel is a beautiful neutral hue created in a cream nail polish. I used one base coat, and two coats of color. The polish applied evenly, without streaking. This is the perfect color to wear with the camo trend of the moment. Love it!

Chanel winter 2018 nail polish – Chanel Vert No. 31 – Collection Chiffree

This is a sassy, deep, dark green nail polish. Chanel Vert no. 31 offers a late fall, green look which is dark enough to carry you through winter. This polish needed one base coat, and three coats of color. It was a little bit streaky after the second coat, but the third coat gave it the perfect even hue you see above. Chanel Vert no. 31 nail polish is a beautiful color. Love it!

Chanel winter 2018 nail polish – Chanel Vert No. 19 – Collection Chiffree

chanel vert no 19 nail polish winter 2018 review

How pretty is Chanel Vert no 19 nail polish! This is the perfect color to wear towards the end of the winter season. It will transition well into resort, and spring, since this color was found on the resort runways. I plan on wearing it at the end of January and into February when my wardrobe starts to transition to spring. I tested Vert no 19 by Chanel out with one base coat and two coats of color. It is a cream polish which applies evenly to perfection. Love!

Winter beauty must-haves for skin and hair

winter beauty skin care hair must haves

Winter beauty must-have’s from top left: Aveda hand cream / Revive eye cream / Elemis face cream / Colleen Rothschild retinol supreme / Revive neck cream / LaVanila body butter / Tan-Luxe body drops / Tan-Luxe face drops / Chanel fall nail polish / Bobbi Brown crushed lip color / Aveda scalp cleanser / Aveda shampoo / Aveda conditioner

Despite the fact that is technically still fall, I have already started my winter beauty routine. The fall season here in the San Francisco Bay Area is half summer, and half winter. We don’t really have an in-between. This means my summer beauty routine continues until the cold front hits in November; and we are here!

My skin takes a beating during the winter season, not from sun exposure, but from the dry, indoor climate. The furnace in my house, combined with heaters everywhere I go, are really good at drying out the air. This leaves the skin on my face and body desperately thirsty. In order to ensure I don’t become a prune during the winter season, I need to make sure I am using the right skin care products.

For my face, I have been using Revive’s neck cream since I was twenty-eight years old. You read that right! It has kept my neck in a perfect state; and I won’t use anything else on it! I have fallen in love Elemis’s face cream. It gives my face the perfect amount of moisture and balance. For my eyes, Revive has a fabulous eye cream which does wonders for reducing fine lines, and adding just the perfect amount of moisture. Colleen Rothchild’s retinal serum is perfect for keeping my skin balanced and youthful.

When it comes to my body, my skin is ghostly white and dries out easily. Thank goodness for Aveda hand cream and LaVanila body butter! They keep my body from drying and flaking off like snow! As for the white part, have you tried new Tan-Luxe? O-M-G! It is a gift from God! These fabulous drops add just the right amount of tan to my legs. They also have a version for the face which is perfect for adding some sun-kissed color back to my cheeks. Love it and can’t live without it!

Hair also takes a beating during the cold winter months. The heater dries out my hair like crazy! In addition to my hair, it dries out my scalp; which is super annoying! To combat dry scalp, I use Aveda Pramasana scalp cleanser which gets all that extra yuck off my scalp, leaving it squeaky clean; and not dry! Shampure shampoo and conditioner by Aveda are great for keeping my hair clean during the winter months. It keeps my hair from getting greasy without drying my scalp or ends. Love it!

Now you might be wondering why I included Chanel’s fall nail polish and Bobbi Brown’s lipstick in a skin care slash hair post. Well, I can’t leave home without wearing these two beauty products, so I just thought I would throw them into my seasonal skin care post. I hope you don’t mind. 🙂 This lipstick is great since it holds color well throughout the day without drying out the lips. I’m addicted to it! And. . .well. . .Chanel needs no explanation 😉

Which products are you using to combat winter dry skin and hair?

Thanks for stopping by!

Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish review

chanel holiday 2017 nail polish review

from left, Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection: Chanel Scenario nail polishChanel Fiction nail polish / Chanel Celebrity nail polish

It’s here! The Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection has arrived; and it’s not what you think it is! Were you dreaming of metallic sparkles, cherry reds, and cool winter blues? Yeah, so was I! Chanel threw us for a loop this time! Instead of feeding into holiday season expectations, Chanel took a leap off the holidays 2017 bandwagon and gave us a neon red hue, a deep, mysterious green, and a sinister black. Oh yeah, the holidays are on!

Chanel Holiday 2017 nail polish collection:

As with all Chanel nail polishes, the holidays 2017 nail polish collection is long lasting, chip resistant, and applies evenly. I used one base coat, and two coats of color to test out each polish. I did not use a top coat. They stayed true to their Chanel roots and offered chip resistant, non-streaky color which lasts and last! Love them!

Without further ado, here are Chanel Scenrior, Chanel Fiction, and Chanel Celebrity from the Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection:

Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection: Chanel Scenario

chanel scenario nail polish holiday 2017

Chanel Scenario nail polish from the holiday 2017 nail polish collection is also a limited edition hue from Chanel’s new neon brights collection. This is a neon red hue, with a matte finish. I was actually surprised to see this color in Chanel’s nail polish collection for the 2017 holidays. It is extremely bright; and not your traditional holiday red hue. It has a resort/summer feel to it; making it a great color option if you plan to go somewhere warm and exotic for the holiday season. I’m not sure I will wear it too often during the holidays. This is a color I will save for a beach getaway, or resort style trip. It is a great vacation option!

Chanel was thinking ahead when they made Chanel Scenario a matte nail polish. Despite it’s bright, neon nature, the matte finish makes Chanel Scenario easy to wear, and less flashy, then you would think a neon polish would look like on one’s nails. This is a winner for a bright neon nail polish! Love it!

Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection: Chanel Fiction

chanel fiction nail polish holidays 2017

How fabulous is this deep, dark green! Although it is reminiscent of Chanel Vert Obscur from the fall 2015 season, Chanel Fiction nail polish for the holiday 2017 season is slightly darker; more mysterious. This is a great color one would expect during the fall season; and not think of for the holidays. Since it is green, it flows nicely from the fall season into the holiday season; although it is an unexpected shade of green for the festive holiday season.

Although it is deep, dark, and mysterious, Chanel Fiction nail polish is my favorite color from the Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection. I love the fact that it is vampy, yet green! Something about any shade of green screams Christmas to me! haha It would be fun to put a golden, glitter top coat over Fiction by Chanel. A glittering top coat would give it a festive vibe for the holidays. I like Gold Leaf by Kendra Scott.

Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection: Chanel Celebrity

chanel celebrity nail polish holiday 2017

Chanel Celebrity nail polish from the holiday 2017 nail polish collection is a vampy black polish. it has a high shine, and deep, dark black hue. This is definitely the nail polish color for the holiday season if you would like to show off your edgy style by mixing things up this season. The fabulous thing about black nail polish is that is matches everything! This makes Chanel Celebrity nail polish perfect if you plan to wear differing color palettes this holiday season. It will be easy to wear without needing to worry about your nails clashing with your outfit. You really cannot go wrong with black nail polish; it’s like an avante-garde classic!

The Chanel holiday 2017 nail polish collection strays from traditional expectations of what nail color should be during the holiday season. This makes it fun, fresh, and avante-garde! I can’t wait to rock Chanel Fiction nail polish during the holiday 2017 season. It really is the perfect holiday hue for me. Chanel Celebrity nail polish will be great for when I don’t want a green hue on my nails, and want a little bit of edge. Now, about planning an exotic vacation so I can rock Chanel Scenario nail polish. . .

Which color from the Chanel nail polish holiday 2017 collection is your favorite? What do you think of these non-traditional seasonal hues?
