For our big summer trip this year, we decided to take the kids down south to Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Legoland. On our drive down, we stopped at the beautiful Mission Santa Barbara  for a little bit of California history. What kid doesn’t need a little summer history lesson?!

When we left the Bay Area, temperatures hovered in the 90’s, so I chose to wear this flowing, breezy skirt with a lightweight, cotton cropped top. It was the perfect ensemble for beating the heat while on the road! The flowing silhouette, and lightweight fabrics, kept me cool all the way from NorCal to SoCal. Love that!

This skirt is really fun to wear too. I have worn it with a high, stacked heel, for a dressier look, as well as with the flats shown above for comfort. The shoes really make a difference; making the skirt fabulous for day into evening this summer! Love that!

My new Chloe flats were perfect for walking around the mission; and they were also comfortable for driving down the coast! I’m addicted to these flats 😉

The Santa Barbara Mission was a great place to stop with the kids on the drive south. Not only did we get to stretch our legs, and get out of the car, the kids learned about a small part of California history! Who says you can’t mix education and fun?!

Thanks for stopping by,

xoxo

Cathy

I cannot get enough of my new Citizens for Humanity petite jeans! They are so comfortable and they fit perfectly. I love wearing jeans with breezy blouses, and this off-white one from Lush is perfection. I love the breezy silhouette it has, and the fabric is cool for a hot summer day. It also looks amazing with cut-offs or regular shorts.

If you would like to pre-order a new Mansur Gavriel for fall, you can pre-order one online here and here. If you have been thinking about it, don’t hesitate to order! They will go fast. I love my Mansur Gavriel handbag. They are strong handbags, not to mention on trend! I can fit my DSLR camera inside my large drawstring bucket bag, as well as stuff a denim shirt inside, my wallet, phone, and a water bottle. It is amazing how much this bag fits! It is also amazing how heavy I can make the bag, and it withstands all the weight. The high quality construction of Mansur Gavriel handbags is nothing short of amazing! I pre-ordered the new shoulder bag for fall, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

Petite flare jeans by Citizens of Humanity

One of the hardest things to shop for is jeans! At 5’4″ tall, I find the majority of jeans on the market way too long for me. I often have to spend extra money tailoring my jeans in order to fit my short legs. One huge problem I encounter is when I have to shorten bootcut, flare, or bell bottom jeans. When I have boot cut, flare, or bell bottom jeans shortened, I lose half the flare of the jean, thus ruining the silhouette of the pant. Can I tell you how annoying and frustrating this can be???

Due to this problem, I often find myself going straight to the Gap and purchasing their jeans in the “short” or “ankle” length. Since the Gap has great prices, this is not really a bag thing. I have to admit, I do get bored of always buying the same brand of jeans! So, I decided to try on a few pairs of petite jeans to see how they would fit.

I am not really sure why I haven’t tried petite jeans before. I already wear petite pants, so why have I not tried jeans?! Why did it take me so long to have this revelation?! Ah, the universe will never know. 😉

I was thrilled when I tried Citizens of Humanity flare jeans in a petite size. They fit perfectly! I have found denim heaven. Not only do these jeans fit perfectly, I do not have to shorten them, and they are soft and comfortable. Love that!

Petite jeans are now going to be my new guilty pleasure. I feel like a kid in a candy store trying on jeans that fit me! Yay! Since I love these petite jeans by Citizens of Humanity so much, I plan to get a few more pairs for the fall season.
