It’s that time of year when we are looking at all the fall fashions on store shelves and wanting to rock all the new trends, yet, when we look outside, it is still over eighty degrees! Ugh! When this time of year rolls around, I always try to incorporate lightweight fall pieces into a summer outfit in order to reflect the new fall trends, yet remain comfortable in the heat.

This breezy blouse is great for hot days since it is loose fitting. The blush color is also a hot summer color, yet plays well with fall’s berry hues. It will look fabulous in the fall season paired with burgundy booties or a burgundy handbag. Love!

One thing I cannot get enough of right now is my “Still Surprise You” choker by Ettika. It can be worn as a choker, which is fun to layer with longer, thin necklaces, or as a bracelet. On this day, I was in the mood to wear it as a bracelet. I love how it looks on the wrist!

I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer, and all the new fall trends hitting store shelves! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

XOXO

Have you seen Ettika’s wide collection of chokers. If not, you must check them out! I purchased a blue and gold one earlier this year, so when I was given the opportunity to acquire one in black, I jumped at the chance! They are so well made, and versatile! Love!

Ettika’s Still Surprise You choker is made from beautiful onyx beads, and 18K gold plate beads. It is extremely comfortable, and high quality; I cannot believe it is priced at a mere $30! It is such a great deal!

This beautiful necklace can be worn as a choker, or wrapped twice around your wrist as a bracelet. Stay tuned, I have already worn it as a bracelet and will share pictures with you later this week!

I wore this casual outfit, with my favorite new choker, to an early dinner with Laura from Have Need Want. We enjoyed a table full of appetizers, lemonade, and talking about her new bundle of joy arriving this fall! Be sure to check out her blog and follow along with her pregnancy.

Ettika’s Still Surprise You Choker is a great addition to any jewelry wardrobe; it will also make a great gift this upcoming holiday season! It is never too soon to think about these things 😉 You can find this beautiful onyx and gold choker exclusively online here.

We took the kids to San Diego for a week-long vacation. On our way south, we stopped for brunch in Pismo Beach. You can only imagine how thrilled we were to see a Ghirardelli Chocolate ad painted on the wall of the building we just happened to park next to! How crazy is that!?

I absolutely adore vintage advertisements. I love how they were not just selling a product; they were art. This advertisement was carefully painted, and designed. I wish I knew how old it was!

Pismo Beach was fogged in when we arrived around 10:30am. I felt like I was in San Francisco! Not only was it foggy, but the first thing I saw when I got out of the passenger seat of the car was this Ghirardelli ad! Did we really drive south? It was hard to tell!

I was really glad I had my soft, favorite denim jacket with me to combat the fog. We were at the beach, so I had to keep my sunglasses and hat on despite the fog; it only seemed natural. Beachside, they are a must! This outfit turned out to be perfect for the location, and the weather. Loved it!

Our original plan for brunch in Pismo Beach was to eat at Splash Cafe. Apparently they have world famous clam chowder; and I love clam chowder! Unfortunately when we arrived, the line to get in was extremely long, and wrapped around the building. So we went across the street to a diner named Brad’s Restaurant. We were so glad we did! This diner was deeeeee-licious! We were sat right away, and they had a great kid’s menu. My eggs and hash browns were cooked to perfection, and my hot chocolate was so yummy! Our waitress was extremely nice, attentive, and friendly. The interior was classic diner; and it was very neat and clean. Next time we stop in Pismo Beach, we will definitely go to Brad’s Restaurant! It was really good!

If you are driving south from the Bay Area to Socal, I highly recommend a pit stop in Pismo Beach. It is a nice break from the car to go beachside, and Brad’s Restaurant is a great place to recharge! Of course, if you are a chocoholic like me, look for the Ghirardelli Chocolate vintage painted advertisement. It can be found on Pomeroy Avenue, one block south of highway 1, on the south side of the building. This is also a good place to park when heading downtown since it is less crowded and only a short one to two block walk to everything; just keep in mind it is three hour parking. If you are planning a longer pit stop, look for one of the parking lots.

Our final road trip destination was San Diego. Stay tuned for a few posts about our Socal adventure!
