Blanket scarves are a huge trend this fall season, as well as for the upcoming winter season. The blanket scarf has been a hot trend for a couple of winter seasons now, and this year, blanket scarves are huge!

The blanket scarf is an amazing phenomena. It does double duty as both an on-trend, “street style” trend, as well as act as a practical necessity in cold weather. Love that!

The hottest styles of blanket scarves are plaid. Any type of plaid blanket scarf is hot. In addition to plaid, on-trend blanket scarves are either large, oblong scarves, or large square scarves. The small neck scarves which are about a foot wide, are not as popular.

The fun thing about blanket scarves this winter season, is that they are not very expensive! Of course, if you want a luxury blanket scarf, there are several styles on the market for over $200, or much, much more! Although you can buy a luxury blanket scarf, most blanket scarves are under $100, making it an accessible trend for every budget.

Since blanket scarves can be found for under $100, and well under $50, this winter shopping season, they make fabulous holiday gifts! You cannot go wrong giving a blanket scarf this holiday season. They are in style, one size fits all, and extremely practical! To see all my gift ideas for this holiday season, please click here for my gift guide.

Blanket scarves are incredibly cozy. They are as warm as a sweater, or lightweight jacket. This makes them perfect for our weather here in the San Francisco Bay Area. We can wrap ourselves up in a blanket scarf, and when the fog burns off in the afternoon, we can unwrap the scarf, or stuff it in our purse! Love that! They also warm up a sweater or coat on very cold days. Double love!

I cannot get enough of blanket scarves this fall season. I am already wearing them often, so I know when winter officially arrives, I will be wearing them non-stop!

Since blankets carves are a hot street style trend, and ideal Christmas gift, I found a few fabulous blanket scarves around the web, and assembled them into the shopping widget below. Most of my picks are well under $100. I hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Resort 2016 is fast approaching, which means it is time to learn all about the current resort 2016 shoe trends! The resort season is short, so if you love one the of the trends, then it is important to snap it up right away!

I love the resort season since it is a great way to get a jump start on the new spring season; before spring hits store shelves! Resort is a fabulous transition from the fall/winter seasonal trends, into the new trends for the spring season.

There are so many fun trends in shoes for the resort 2016 season. These trends include influences from both the 1960s, and the 1970s; both important decades for the upcoming spring 2016 season. So, without further adieu, here are the resort 2016 shoe trends:

Color Blocking: I know, I know, the trend that refuses to die! This time around, color blocking is not referring to bi-color shoes, it is referring to as many colors as possible on a shoe! Look for rainbows, reminiscent of the 1970s, and color groups blocked together in various hues.

Tie-Up: This is a hot trend from last year which is continuing through 2016. Look for tie-up flats, heels, and wedges. If you already have a neutral pair in your closet, look for a candy colored pair for the new year to spice up your resort wardrobe; and your spring wardrobe too!

Florals: Groundbreaking, I know. Look for large, artistic florals on every type of shoe imaginable. It’s original, I swear 😉

Street Sneakers: Get your flat cardboard box, your boom box, and your moves sharpened! Sneakers reminiscent of the break-dancing days of the 1980s are hot to trot this resort season. They will be hot in the spring season too. Invest! Then bust a move.

Fringe and tassels: Keep on, shaking on! Boho-chic fringe is still du rigueur for the resort season. It will be hot this spring too. Ensure your shoe collection has some movement, look for fringe shoes in candy colors, or sensible neutrals.

Block heels: Who needs stilettos when sturdy block heels are all the rage? Need I say more?

Pink: Think pink. Look for blush or pale pink, as well as candy pink. These two hues are hot for the resort 2016 season; they will be cool in the spring too.

There you have it! The resort 2016 shoe trends to wet your appetite for the upcoming spring season. Which trend is your favorite?

Layered earrings for right now

Layered earrings are back! Stacking multiple pairs of earrings, or a combination of studs, cuffs, and crawlers, was a huge trend in jewelry in the late 1980s through to the mid-1990s. When the ’90’s became a decade of influence in fashion a few years ago, the trend started to resurface; and now it is here with a bang.

Arguably the hottest street style trend of the moment, the stacked or layered earring trend is fun to follow. Haven’t we all been itching to use those extra holes in our ears from our middle school, high school, and college years?

Layered earrings is an easy to trend to adapt to. There are two ways to follow it. You can have multiple piercings in your ears, or you can pretend with one pair of stud earrings, and a combination of crawlers and cuffs on one or both ears.

When wearing multiple pairs of earrings, or ear jewelry, the goal is not to have one pair overwhelm the other. The pairs of earrings must blend together. This means keep them on the dainty side and trying to keep metals matching.

Thankfully, brands and designers have recognized this hot trend on the street and put earring sets together which offer a few pairs of studs, or a combination of studs and cuffs, which match each other and take the guesswork out of styling one’s own earring stack. Love that!

If you would like to wear a statement pair of earrings, or large earrings, then they must be worn in the first hole on your ear. Keep the earrings in the other holes as basic as possible; and as small as possible. Avoid pairing ear cuffs or crawlers with a larger pair of earrings.

I found a few fabulous pairs, and sets, of earrings around the web which are perfect for layering, stacking, and mixing together! I hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉
