Aveda Texture Tonic review

Do you ever try to create a tousled look, or add texture to your hair? I do! I always fail miserably though! So, when Aveda sent me their texture tonic, I was excited to give it a try!

Aveda’s Texture Tonic is a great tool for adding texture, without adding build-up to your hair. One of my pet peeves is using a hairstyling product which leaves residue, build-up and a greasy film. What I love about Aveda, is that their products leave none of this behind; and Aveda Texture Tonic is no exception. It leaves my hair lightweight, and clean. Love!

I don’t do a big beach hair look when I go for a little volume. I use Aveda Texture Tonic lightly to give my waves a little extra bounce, and definition. I really love the result!

If you are looking for volume, without bulk, you can find Aveda Texture Tonic online here.

Frizzy hair solutions | How to tame frizzy hair

frizzy hair solutions

frizzy hair solutions c/o Garnier from left: cooler bag for the beach (won’t solve frizzy hair, but it will keep your food cold at the beach!) / Sleek & Shine conditioner / Sleek & Shine shampoo / Anti-Frizz serum / Zing citrus zinger water bottle (won’t solve frizzy hair, but it is a water game changer) /  Sleek & Shine leave-in conditioner / beach radio speaker (won’t solve frizzy hair, but it will entertain you!) / smooth air dry cream / face mask moisture bomb pink and blue

Raise your hand if you get frizzy hair? Especially during the summer! My hand is so far up, I can’t even see it! We get fog here in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the fog makes my hair frizz like crazy! I am always looking for low-maintenance, frizzy hair solutions to keep my mane tame.

Here in the Bay Area, I am always asking my friends how to tame frizzy hair, because let’s face it, this is a problem! We don’t use a lot of hair products in California, our hair styles are more windblown then in other parts of the country. But, just because we like a little beach hair here or there, this does not mean we want frizzy hair. We need to find the perfect frizzy hair solutions to keep our natural hair do’s on point; without looking like we stuck our fingers in a socket.

Garnier has a fabulous collection of hair care products which are the perfect solutions to frizzy hair. The Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine collection includes shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and an anti-frizz serum. When used together, they are the perfect line of defense against frizzy hair; which I also like to refer to as “Fog Hair.”

I love the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine collection for combating my Fog Hair. My favorite product from the collection, which is must-have for anyone who needs to tame frizzy hair, is the Anti-Frizz Serum. This stuff is genius! The Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz Serum is perfect for using while blow-drying hair, or to use as a line of defense against fog or humidity; both enemies which make our hair frizz up like crazy.

For travel, I love the Garnier Smooth Air Dry cream. It is a great way to smooth out frizz while on the go. This is something I keep in my gym bag, beach bag, and in the car for trips. You never know when your hair might frizz up! The Garnier Smooth Air Dry cream will tame that frizz down; it is a great frizzy hair solution!

Aveda Essentials for summer

products c/o Aveda: Be Curly / Damage Remedy / Hand Relief / Phomollient Styling Foam/ Shampure Composition Oil / Thickening Tonic / travel size Air Control / Smooth Infusion

Summer hair can be disastrous! If you are like me, you have been spending time in the pool, at the beach, and in the sun this summer. As we know, this can wreak havoc on our hair! I have a few Aveda essentials for combating my beat-up summer hair; so I thought I would share them with you!

I have been using Aveda products for roughly fifteen years. So when Aveda sent me these tester’s to try out, I was really excited! Who doesn’t want to receive one of their favorite brands in the mail!! So let’s chat about why I like each of these products!

Aveda Be Curly is a great product to use after washing curly hair. As you know, I have wavy/straight hair, so this product is a favorite of my youngest daughter. She has extremely curly blond, fine hair. Even though she is ten years old, she takes her hair care seriously; and refuses to use anything on her hair not made for curly hair. She has become addicted to Aveda’s Be Curly because it helps her keep her curl after she combs her hair. She washes her hair every two to three days. Without using Be Curly, her curls get combed out and look frizzy. When she uses Be Curly, she can comb her hair and her curls bounce back to where they should. It is as if she used curlers in the morning; but she didn’t! This is the best product for curly hair; definite must-have!

I have been using Aveda Damage Remedy for several years. I only use it in the summer; typically starting in July when my hair starts to look dull from my fun in the sun. It is a great leave-in conditioner which restores my hair to what it looks like the rest of year; undamaged! This is my ultimate summer-must-have for combating sun damaged hair.

This is the first time I have tried Aveda’s Hand Relief hand cream. Looks like I have a new favorite hand cream! It keeps my hands moisturized without drying or leaving a film. I love a good non-greasy hand cream! It’s my new addiction.

Aveda Shampure Composition oil is not shampoo, it is a bath oil. It is also great for cleansing your scalp. I use it on my scalp about once a month, but my daughter uses it more often in the bathtub for soft skin. If you have a bath-loving daughter, I recommend getting a big bottle!

How cute is this travel sized Air Control by Aveda! I use this hair spray on special occasions, and humid days. It is great for controlling frizz and keeping my hair in place. Love!

The Thickening Tonic, Smoothe Infusion, and Phomollient Styling Foam are great products to have on hand for your hair care arsenal. I highly recommend them!
