As much fun as animal prints, stripes, and asymmetrical lines are for the fall season, there are some days when we just want to blend into the crowd-without wearing a basic v-neck tee and jeans. On those days, this comfortable knit top is my jam!
These jeans are soft, and so is this top, that makes this outfit my comfortable go-to look when I to wear something casual yet put together. I feel like this top has a dressy-casual look even thought the fabric is very casual and comfy. Love that! It would also look really cute with a skirt and high heels.

What types of clothing do you like for casual days when you want to look a little more than casual?
How fun is this skirt! As you know, animal prints are huge this fall; groundbreaking right? So it’s no wonder why I have stocked my closet with some fun animal print pieces! This is another outfit I originally purchased at the end of August to wear in New York for fashion week. I originally planned to wear it with either my white booties or my western style booties, but here at home, that didn’t really look quite right.
This skirt evolved in my mind over the past month into something a bit dressier than a piece to pair with boots. I love how the fabric is silky, it gives the skirt evening appeal. So when I needed an evening dinner outfit, this skirt fit the bill! I love how it looks with my classic, patent leather pumps. It has a classic fall look.
My ruched tee is turning into a go-to top this season. I find myself pairing it with everything from skirts to simple jeans. It really is a key item in my fall 2018 wardrobe. It’s great to have a machine washable, go-to black top. Is a “little black top” a thing? Like a dress? Let’s make it happen-I know it will take off better than fetch! Ha!

Are you loving animal prints for fall? What is your favorite way to wear them?
This dress is orange! Can you believe it? This might be the first orange item I have ever purchased. It really isn’t a color I normally gravitate towards. That being said, there was something about this dress that made orange seem understated rather than loud. Perhaps that’s why I felt like I needed it in my closet for fall.
I originally purchased this orange leopard print slip dress to wear at New York Fashion Week. It would have been perfect on that really hot day when temperatures and humidity soured over ninety degrees. When I wore it the other day, I felt a little sad putting on the dress with the same accessories I had planned to wear in New York. I guess I am still a little down about missing fashion week; plus, I still don’t have clearance from my doctor to go back to working out, or lifting heavy items. So, I am still in surgery-recovery-jail, if there is such a thing. But I digress. . .
This dress has turned out to be perfect for our fall weather. I can top it off with a faux leather jacket while the fog is in, then take off the jacket while the sun shines, and brings temperatures above eighty degrees. It’s great for transitioning from warm to cool weather! Love that!
Wearing a slip dress over a tee reminds me so much of college. It really was a hot and huge trend in the early to mid 1990s. My friends and I used to wear this style all the time! Plus, moto jackets were popular back then too, so the entire look, minus the boots, reminds me of my undergrad days. If I remember correctly, my shoes would have more in the platform boot realm; and black, definitely black!
Are there any current trends out right now which remind you of another time? Do you believe it’s OK to re-wear a trend, or do you feel once you wear a trend, you can’t re-wear it? I know a lot of people who refuse to re-wear a trend! I would love to know what you think!
