OK, I cannot wait. I have to start off with the Dior summer nail polish pictured above. Isn’t it a pretty hue? The entire collection for summer is beautiful, and it is en route to me! As soon as I receive it, I will create a review post for you, in the meantime, here are the nail polish colors from Dior for the summer 2023 season!

This week was all about handbags. Shoulder bags, hobo bags, and this on trend top handle bucket were hotter than hot. Straw totes are also starting to gain momentum as we start shopping for trips and the summer season. I feel like if we shop for summer, spring will get a hint and start warming up! Do you think this will work? I am getting tired of all this winter weather. I mean, it is already April! Ugh, but I digress. . .

Investment jewelry is also hot right now, and it should be! After all, this beautiful silver jewelry pictured above offers classic styling which can be worn season after season, and for generations. Here are a few of my favorites to invest in now:

What are you loving this spring season? Are you still waiting for warmer weather where you live? Or are you here in the Bay Area wondering why winter is still a thing?

The anonymous handbag

The anonymous handbag is the ultimate IT bag right now; and as I am sure you have heard, logos everywhere are over. As we move away from loud logos on everything from handbags to belts to clothing, our personal style is shifting to a more understated and chic aesthetic; and I am here for it!

Quiet luxury is a term you will often hear, and it stands for beautiful items with top craftsmanship. Your handbag this year should speak volumes about your attention for detail and love for investment dressing. While a kitschy bag shaped like a firefly is a fun conversation starter, it will perfectly acceptable as long as the designer or brand isn’t plastered all over it. So, the moral of the story is, wear a neon handbag, as long as the logo isn’t blasting in your face. You can also wear a fun shape, asymmetrical and artistic bag, as long as the logo isn’t shouting at the world. Logos are bad, while classic, bright, and kitschy are good.

There are certain traits of popular designers you won’t be able to get away from, such as Bottega Veneta’s trademark weave, or Mansur Gavriel’s M Frame, or Louis Vuitton’s iconic Alma in a fabrication other than monogram vernis. It is OK to wear a bag which can be easily guessed, but only those who know will be able to guess. The brand or designer will not be readily displayed for the masses to have how much you spent shoved in their faces. This is the anonymous handbag.

I have never really been a big logo fan, except for belt buckles, so I have a belt to replace! haha When it comes to handbags, I prefer the anonymous handbag since I love high quality craftsmanship and beautiful styles. Since I have two daughters, I think of my handbags as something I can hand down to them when they are older. This is why I gravitate towards classic styles which will swing in and out of style, or will remain important 365 days per year, every year, forever.

Here are a few of my favorite anonymous handbags from around the web:

What is your favorite version of the anonymous handbag?

BAF Weekly IT List

BAF Weekly IT List from top left: bio tote (under $500) / star necklace / Chanel spring nail polish / Dior spring nail polish / green shoulder bag / loafer mules / silver station bracelet / silver bar bracelet / straight leg jeans / spring sweater / classic black satchel / ivory moon shaped bag / M Frame shoulder bag /

Can you believe it is the last day of March? This year is flying by! Despite spring being in full swing, the weather is still very wintery out there! This means we can wear a little bit of spring on our nails, carry a spring handbag, and wear new investment piece jewelry such as these beautiful silver bracelets pictured above. Love!

Right now, warm weather clothing is still moving slow, but straight leg jeans are hotter than hot, and spring weight sweaters are the perfect top for straight leg jeans. Also loving classic loafer mules and shoulder bags to complete the look along with investment jewelry and spring nail polish.

The look of the year is understated and anonymous. You can wear fun, bright colors, but stay away from logos and large branding on both clothing and accessories. A small logo is OK, but don’t have the designer’s name plastered across your chest or stamped all over your handbag. That’s so last year.

Heads up! There is a new weekly series on the blog. If you, or someone you know, has a teenager looking to apply to college, or is already in college, let them know! I will be posting once a week about the college application process and parenting a child away at school. Let me know if there are any specific topics you would like covered, and also if you have questions. Check out my first post here.

Don’t worry, my regular content will still have the same frequency as before this new series was added. Love that!

Lastly, how cute is the little bio tote pictured above? This is a new bag for spring from Tory Burch and it is made from eco-friendly materials, not leather. I love how eco-chic it is, and also the simple design. Stay tuned! There will be a review on the blog of this cute little tote in April!
