JustFab colored designer denim review

JustFab recently introduced a new line of on-trend, colored designer denim which is at the right price and fits perfectly into one of the season’s hottest trends; colored jeans! Since I am a sucker for denim, and I love anything which is on trend, the fusion of the color trend with denim intrigued me. So when I heard about Just Fab’s new line of designer denim in bright colors, I was intrigued. Not only is each pair priced at $39.95 or $99 for three pairs, the cropped, skinny style looked perfect for my 5’4” frame. I needed to try these.

Fortunately, JustFab was kind enough to send me a sample of the vibrant purple designer denim from their new collection of colorful cropped pants. As someone who normally spends $60 on the low end and $400 on the high end for denim, I was a little skeptical about trying a pair of jeans priced at $39.95. What type of quality would they be?

I was over-the-moon when the box of JustFab designer denim arrived on my doorstep. After opening the shipping box, I instantly loved the beautiful purple hue of the jeans. Better yet, when I touched the pants and unfolded them, they felt soft and high quality; not what I was expecting for jeans priced at $39.95!

I tried the jeans on within five minutes of unpacking them from the box and I was so excited! Not only did they feel comfortable and have a beautiful purple hue, they fit me! These $39.95 jeans fit me better than many denim pants priced well over $100. Who could have guessed?

Since the designer denim pants from JustFab are cropped, and I happen to be a mere 5’4” the pants hit right at my ankle, acting like a regular pair of skinnies. This is amazing since I cannot find skinnies which fit my height. I also found that I could easily roll the hem of the jeans to make them cropped; the way Kimora Lee Simmons is wearing them in the press photos. I love the versatility!

This was my first experience with JustFab.com which is a monthly fashion club. JustFab is a shopping website where Fashionistas can take a short style quiz and then create an account with no obligation to buy. Due to the results of the style quiz, you are given a monthly “closet” filled with shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories which are tailored to fit your style personality as determined from the quiz. This is a really fun way to shop and could be a new addiction for me especially since almost everything on the website is priced at a mere $39.95. There is no obligation to buy something each month and you can easily “opt out” by the fifth of the month if you decide not to buy anything.

If this sound confusing, remember back in the day when everyone was in a book-of-the-month or record-of-the-month club? It is a similar design except they do not automatically send you an item if you forget to mail in a card. (yes, totally last century-am I dating myself?)

Since colored denim is hot this season, and JustFab’s colored designer denim is great quality for a fabulous price, I am giving JustFab’s designer denim five out of five stars.

Floral shoes for the summer 2012 season

One of the biggest spring/summer 2012 trends in shoes is floral prints. Florals are being found in every color imaginable and on every style of footwear including pumps, platforms, sandals, flats and wedges. Floral printed shoes are also being found in every price point including Christian Louboutin, Stuart Weitzman and Forever 21.

Since florals were a huge trend in apparel on the runways in Paris, Milan, London and New York, it is only natural that the trend appears on shoes for the warm weather season. While floral shoes were not spotted on very many runways, designers and brands designed floral print shoes for spring and summer which have been appearing on store shelves, and consequently on the street.

Fashionistas in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as around the country have been spotted strutting down the street in floral print shoes. Floral pumps have been spotted in the office and are being worn as a way to spice up one’s everyday office attire. For more casual looks, floral wedges and flats are being paired with jeans and casual dresses as a subtle way of wearing the floral trend. In fact, it seems as if fashion-savvy women are opting more for the floral shoe rather than floral apparel. Perhaps shoes feel more understated? Or maybe Fashionistas just prefer buying shoes over apparel!

When wearing a pair of floral shoes, it is important to keep your ensemble understated. Floral shoes look best when paired with solid colored attire and neutral ensembles. This draws the eye to the shoe and makes it the focal point of the look. Floral flats and flat sandals are also an easy way to add a trendy look to a casual outfit when running errands or relaxing in the park.

We found several floral print shoes around the web, in various price points and assembled them into the Polyvore set below. Hope you love it!

Twisted Silver Mum earrings are on trend for summer

Two of the biggest trends this season are the floral trend and the statement earrings trend. Leave it to Twisted Silver to design a fabulous pair of earrings, the “Mum” earrings to be exact, which encompass both of these lighthearted trends!

The spring/summer 2012 season is playful and whimsical. This makes Twisted Silver’s new “Mum” earrings an easy way to add a lighthearted and playful twist to any ensemble. The earrings are bold and made from raw brass. They are shaped like a perfect mum flower in full bloom and their large size will ensure everyone notices your fabulous jewelry.

The “Mum” earrings by Twisted Silver work well with solid colored attire as well as floral prints which are small; larger florals will detract from the beauty of the earrings. The “Mum” earrings also play well with small, understated prints and embroidery. They are also an easy way to update an outfit from a previous season! Love that!
Twisted Silver’s “Mum” earrings also happen to be a favorite of Karina Smirnoff of “Dancing With The Stars!”

Twisted Silver’s Mum earrings are priced at $40 and are available starting today at twisted-silver.com. Use coupon code INSIDERS for a 15% discount. Happy shopping and stay fabulous
