spring 2014

PVC for spring 2014

The PVC trend is back. Designers in Milan, as well as a few in Paris, New York and London, are showing PVC for the upcoming warm weather season. For spring 2014, PVC is being shown as an accent as well the main fabrication for accessories. On Fendi’s spring/summer 2014 runway we saw a large amount of colorful PVC used on shoes and throughout the show. In fact, Fendi’s use of PVC for spring 2014 may just be the nucleus of the trend!

PVC has been peeking in and out of style over the past few years, and for spring 2014, it has come back with a vengeance. Clear handbags are hotter than hot; whether made with PVC or another similar material, the look is clear. See through accessories are where its’ at!

For spring and summer 2014, look for PVC accents on shoes and look for full, see-though handbags. If you rocked this trend the first time is came around a few years ago, bring out those PVC pieces from the back of your closet. They are hot again! If not, this is a fun trend to play with for the spring/summer 2014 season. Look for one PVC piece to add to your collection.

I found a few fabulous PVC pieces around the web and assembled them into the shopping widget below. I hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Mineral Fusion Rock Cress nail polish review

DSC_0622

Photo: Nail Polish: c/o Mineral Fusion Rock Cress two coats of color, one base coat. Photo taken outside in overcast weather.

With Radiant Orchid being the color of the year, everything in the pink and purple family is inviting to me. I absolutely adore this medium purple hue from Mineral Fusion named “Rock Cress.” The purple color is vibrant without being too bright; and blends well with apparel in shades of blue, purple, pink and green. Since I have been wearing “Rock Cress” by Mineral Fusion this past week, I have received compliments on a daily basis from strangers! That rarely happens, and I love it!

To add to the beautiful color, Mineral Fusion uses natural ingredients in their products which means the nail polish is safe to wear; and it is safe to use on my daughters’ nails too! Mineral Fusion “Rock Cress” nail polish is also long lasting. The polish lasted eight days despite the fact that I did not use a top coat. I also did quite a bit of housecleaning in those eight days and I didn’t have any chips! Love that!

Mineral Fusion “Rock Cress” nail polish is priced at $7.99 and can be found online here.

Colors from Mineral Fusion I love:

Lipstick for spring 2014 in almost Radiant Orchid

Since Pantone announced the color of 2014, Radiant Orchid, in early December 2013, Fashionistas everywhere have been flocking to stores and shopping websites in search of the coveted “IT” color for the new year. One of the easy ways to incorporate this vivid hue is with cosmetics; specifically lipstick!

Pantone teams up every year with Sephora to create a make-up collection which reflects the color of the year. This year, Radiant Orchid, is an easy hue to turn into cosmetics since it is naturally a color found in make-up on a daily basis! Due to this fact, the lipstick has flown off the shelves and is next to impossible to find! Thankfully there are several other lipsticks on the market which are similar to the coveted color of 2014, Radiant Orchid.

I found a few alternatives to Sephora + Pantone’s Radiant Orchid lipstick and assembled them into this article. Some of the colors have a little more pink than Radiant Orchid while others offer more of a purple tinge. I hope you love them as much as I do! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉
