Dolce & Gabbana Fuchsia nail polish review

Dolce & Gabbana’s 1960’s and Sicilian influenced spring 2014 collection offered bright colors, mixed prints and bold accessories. To blend into the collection’s theme, Dolce & Gabbana’s beauty collection has been designed to match with warm hues and classic tones. “Fuchsia” from Dolce & Gabbana is a playful, orange-pink nail polish hue which works perfectly with the designing duo’s spring/summer 2014 color palette from the runway while offering a bright yet classic hue which is easy to wear on a daily basis.

Dolce & Gabbaba “Fuchsia” nail polish is a beautiful, slightly sheer nail polish hue with tinges of pink and orange blended together. The polish offers dimension and looks bright pink outside and inside; at night, the polish appears to be a medium, soft orange. The soft sparkle sheen within the nail polish offers dimension and a playful attitude. Love that!

I tested Dolce & Gabbana’s “Fuchsia” nail polish with one base coat and two coats of color; no top coat. The nail polish application is more sheer than a tranditional cream polish, thus leaving three of my fingers needing a third coat of polish. The end result is a beautiful, multi-dimentional color which changes from pink to orange in varying light sources. I also love how the light catches the subtle sparkles within the nail polish. As with all of Dolce & Gabbana’s nail polish colors, “Fuchsia” is long-lasting. The nail polish lasted a full seven days before one small chip appeared. The edges showed slight wear at six days. Love it!

I am looking forward to wearing Dolce & Gabbana’s “Fuchsia” nail polish as the weather warms up this season. The color will look amazing with the season’s pinks, yellows and blues.

Dolce & Gabbana’s “Fuchsia” nail polish is priced at $24 and can be found online here or here.

Mineral Fusion Blushing Crystal nail polish review

Shown in photo: Nail polish: c/o Mineral Fusion “Blushing Crystal” / two coats of color, one base coat. Photo taken in foggy weather.

Mineral Fusion has a beautiful, classic nail polish hue named “Blushing Crystal.” This pretty, sweet pink hue is a nice color for the spring season; especially since pastels are an important color palette for the season! “Blushing Crystal” by Mineral Fusion is also an easy color to wear for spring since it blends well with any color combination whether bright, neon or pastel. Love that!

I tested out Mineral Fusion’s “Blushing Crystal” with two coats of color and one base coat; no top coat. The polish lasted eight days without chipping! I love this nail polish since it is a classic, easy color to wear plus it is long-wearing which is perfect for my busy lifestyle.

Mineral Fusion nail polish is priced at $7.99. It can be found at Whole Foods Market and online here.

Spring 2014 shoe trends: mules and slides

Mules and slides are back! Get ready to scrunch your shoes as you walk! Mules and slides were huge in the mid-1990’s and Fashionistas everywhere learned quickly how to scrunch up their toes in order to keep their shoes from flying off their feet. Oh memories. . .

Mules and slides stayed in style until the early 2000’s when pointed toe mules had their moment. After enduring pinched toes inside of shoes which were next to impossible to keep on ones’ feet, mules and slides ended up in the back of the closet; and the d’Orsay Pump took its’ place.

Well, for spring.summer 2014, the mule and the slide are back. Hold on tight! Mules and slides look amazing and are actually comfortable when you are standing still. There isn’t anything in the back of the shoe to rub and cause blisters, nor is there a strap which could break or become too tight as the day wears on. Mules and slides are easy to take on and off when driving as well as underneath ones’ desk at the office. (of course, when no-one is looking!)

That being said, mules and slides are not meant for sight-seeing, long walks or cardio shopping at the mall. Mules and slides are perfect for events where you might find yourself standing such as at a fundraiser, auction, luncheon, wedding etc. Since they are actually comfortable, and hot off the runway, it would be wise to own at least one pair of mules or slides this spring/summer 2014 season!

Mules and slides were most popular on the Milan and Paris runways; although designers around the globe are favoring the style this warm weather season. If you kept a pair from the 1990’s or early 2000’s, go ahead and move them to the front of your closet. If not, look for a fabulous pair of mules or slides in a neutral color. If you find them easy to walk in, then more power to you; buy all the colors you can find! If you are like me and prefer mules and slides for less mobile situations, look for a neutral pair which will take you through the trend.

I found a few fabulous pairs of mules and slides and assembled them into the shopping widget below. I hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉
