Santana Row spring fashion show 2013

Santana Row held their annual spring fashion show on June 1, 2013 and the show was amazing! The runway wrapped around the residential swimming pool with a pass through over the middle of the pool. Models walked around the pool, over the pool and one was even pushed in the pool! Due to the 90+ degree weather, I am quite certain he was happy about being pushed overboard  Of course, the models who pushed him in the pool, wearing Oakley, helped him dry off when he climbed out.

The annual fashion show featured looks from many retailers on the Row. In addition to the runway, the 2013 show offered a pre-party packed with wine, champagne, delicious appetizers and mini-spa treatments. After the event, ticket holders were treated to generous discounts at participating retailers at Santana Row as well as additional appetizers and wine tasting.

The highlight of the runway show was when San Francisco 49ers legend Vernon Davis walked the runway and was dancing with the models over the pool. The crowd went wild! The sold-out show must have been music to his ears since ticket sales benefitted his charity, the Vernon Davis Foundation. No wonder he was dancing!

How to get the Dolce & Gabbana beauty look from the fall 2013 runway at home

Dolce & Gabbana sent their fall/winter 2013/2014 collection down the Milan Fashion Week runway on February 24, 2013 and gave Fashionistas everywhere something to covet for the upcoming cool weather season. The designing duo took their inspiration from the mosaic of Monreale which was brought to life by Creative Advisor Pat McGrath.

To create the perfect beauty look which complimented the apparel and accessories on the runway, Pat McGrath combined nude tones with dark, provocative accents which resulted in a stunning beauty look for Dolce & Gabbana’s collection.

Here is how to get the look:

The Face

Flawless Base: Apply a mixture of Perfect Luminous and Perfect Matte Liquid Foundations using a softFoundation Brush. Use a small amount of both foundations and apply to the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Blend from the central point of the face outward until the foundations are blended seamlessly from the hairline to the jaw.

Conceal: To seal the flawless base, use the Perfect Matte Concealer which will add extra coverage and achieve an illuminated, natural look.

Perfect it!: To finish the face, apply Powder Foundation focusing on the forehead.

The Eyes:

Eye shadow: Start with applying Dolce & Gabbana eye shadow in Desert.

Line the eyes: Line the eyes with Black eyeliner for a deep, mysterious look. For the runway, more depth was added to the eyes with the application of Black Intense glam liner on top of the lash line.

Eyelashes: For the full eyelash look on the runway, use two layers of Intense Eyes mascara

Lips:

To recreate the lips from the Dolce & Gabbana runway, start with the lipliner in Ruby and them combine both the Ultra and Amethyst lipsticks for the perfect, sophisticated “straight-from-the-Milan-runway” look.

Nails:

Dolce & Gabbana showed neutral nails on the Milan Fashion Week runway for fall 2013 with the use of theirNude nail polish.

*Special THANK YOU to Dolce & Gabbana for providing these fabulous, hot-from-the-Milan-runway beauty tips. Now we can all look like we walked straight off the Milan runway and onto city streets! Love that!

Wilkes Bashford Palo Alto celebrates their Grand Re-Opening

Wilkes Bashford is a name which draws ooohs and aaahs from Fashionistas around the Bay Area. Known for carrying the most beautiful designs from Italy’s top designers, Wilkes Bashford has been a San Francisco Bay Area icon since 1966.

This is the store our parents shopped at when we were growing up and as children; we would see all the beautiful clothing they brought home after a shopping trip to the city. Now, in 2012, the iconic shop is celebrating a make-over with newly, redesigned stores in both San Francisco and Palo Alto.

The Palo Alto location, which is near Neiman Marcus at the Stanford Shopping Center, is a cozy shop with both men’s and women’s attire. Shoppers can expect to find fabulous designs from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Kiton, Valentino, Chloe, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin and more.

The amazing mix of apparel, shoes, handbags, fine designer jewelry, fragrances and accessories is any fashion-savvy shoppers dream. The new, open floor plan in Palo Alto lets you, as a shopper, see the entire layout and easily find the department you wish to shop in right away. Love that!

In order to celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of the Palo Alto location, Wilkes Bashford threw a fabulous cocktail party complete with runway show, DJ and live acrobats. The runway show featured fall and resort clothing from Italy’s top designers which drew ooohs and aaahs from the fashionable crowd.

Below you will find photos from the Grand Re-Opening event in Palo Alto which took place on Friday, November 16th from 7pm to 9:30pm.
