Black top and jeans for spring 2026

wearing: pearl earrings / black top / classic jeans / spring nail polish / blue-grey bag / black boots /

We had a glimpse of spring last week with temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s, and it was fabulous! The weather was perfect for a classic black top and jeans. Love!

I met up with my friend Dawn from Fashion Should be Fun at Valley Fair and we enjoyed the Fire Horse decorations as well as a pasta meal at Eataly. It was so nice to relax and enjoy time with my friend!

So, when you scroll through Instagram so you get ads for the same retailers over and over again? I do. There is one retailer, Modern Citizan, which is always in my feed. I decided to give in to temptation and order this black top from them. It has rushing on the side and an asymmetrical neckline which I find extremely flattering.

The top was moderately priced, so I was praying it would be nice since I have never seen this brand in person. Thankfully, it was! The fabric is thick and the construction is strong. It’s a good fabric for fall, winter and spring. It might be too thick in the summer, but we shall see when the summer season gets here! Overall, I am happy with the top, so I will definitely order from them again in the future.

San Jose Museum of Art and brunch

wearing: pearl earrings / blue sweater / pink nail polish / jeans / handbag / sneakers /

Have you visited the San Jose Museum of Art? It’s a small museum located in the heart of downtown San Jose. If you haven’t visited it yet, it’s an easy, roughly one hour visit you can fit into the day with another activity or a delicious meal.

We combined our visit to the museum with a yummy brunch at Whispers Cafe & Creperie located at 150 S Second Street in downtown San Jose. It’s a short walk to the museum and offers the best crepes in the area.

I enjoyed the Tetrazzini Crepe which is pictured above. It combines chicken, mozzarella, onions, olives, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes with pesto on top. It was absolutely delicious! Definitely my favorite menu item!

After brunch, we walked over to the San Jose Museum of Art and enjoyed the permanent collection as well as the visiting collections.

It was relaxing to enjoy local and global artwork in downtown San Jose. The visiting collections switch over every few months. There will be new art next month! It will be fun to go back when the new visiting collections are on display.

Pro tip: park in one of the city parking lots, not a hotel. Although the hotels are closer, the city lots are much less expensive.

Casual spring look and a vintage bag

wearing: pearl earrings / short sleeve sweater / spring nail polish / classic cut jeans / vintage handbag / black boots /

Well, despite being February, we have enjoyed some days in the 70’s with evenings staying in the high 60’s. So, my family went to Santana Row to enjoy dinner out, little did we know the Row had been invaded by Seahawks fans that night!

Yup, this was Saturday night before the Super Bowl. I didn’t stop and think about all the non-niners fans that would be in town for the game. Thankfully, I had reservations at Left Bank so we were able to get a table without a problem. Whew! Shoutout to OpenTable.com!

We realized what was going on as we emerged from the parking garage. There were Seahawks fans everywhere! I had to remind myself I was in San Jose, not Seattle. I felt a little bit of warmth when a couple walked past us wearing niners jerseys. There are some locals like us here! Yay!!

My family navigated through the crowds of people trying to get tables at restaurants without a reservation, sad night for them! When we arrived at Left Bank, we lined up and, despite the drunk group behind us trying to eat a candle, no joke, we got our table right away.

The staff was super friendly and our food was delicious. 10/10 for Left Bank at Santana Row! Loved it!

After dinner we navigated our way back to the parking garage, and stopped for photos at NetApp, I love their tech art! It was fun seeing Santana Row so busy, despite the Seahawks jerseys. haha, next year, 49ers in the Super Bowl! I can feel it!
